The Vigeland Museum is a notable sculpture museum situated in an industrial area, showcasing numerous sculptures, woodcuts, and drawings by renowned sculptor Gustav Vigeland. The museum is adjacent to the well-known Vigeland Park which features many of his statues. Easily accessible by public transport such as trams or buses, the exhibition is quite impressive and vast.

I was highly satisfied with the Vigeland Museum. The exhibits were captivating and provided a rich experience.

Ann M — Google review

If you're captivated by the iconic sculptures of Vigeland Park, the Vigeland Museum is a must-visit. It's not just an extension of the park; it's a portal into the artist's creative process. Here, you'll find plaster models, sketches, and early works that offer a fascinating glimpse into how Vigeland's masterpieces came to be. The museum also showcases his apartment, preserved as it was during his lifetime, giving you a unique sense of the sculptor's world. In short, if the park piqued your interest, the Vigeland Museum will provide a deeper appreciation for this artistic genius.

Kristian S — Google review

A good place to get to know Vigeland and his work

Kamil L — Google review

Very quiet - hardly anyone there. Got to see smaller versions of the park sculptures plus more.

Extraordinary and Atmospheric Museum of Great ArtistIn the several rooms of this interesting museum are presented sculptures and models that were created by well-known Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland. There are concepts of sculptures that are now part of the bridge, fountain and obelisk in the park in Frogner in Oslo. Furthermore, in the museum are also several models that were never realised on the full scale (some of them showing Vigeland's visions of heroes of sagas and Eddic poems).

Klaudia K — Google review

Visiting this museum before going to Vigeland Park will make you more appreciative of the sculptures and gain more knowledge about Vigeland's art.

A Z — Google review

I've been to see this sculpture museum and park twice now (in 2016 and 2021) and both times i really enjoyed it. The park is a really pretty walk and scultures are amazing, this is coming from someone who doesn't have much experience with art but enough to enjoy it :)

Emma L — Google review

The mysterious Gustav Vigeland is Worth a deep dive on your Oslo visit. Defenetly see the park and check the museum if you are interested in sculpting.

Einar M — Google review

Wonderful museum dedicated to the famous sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Located right next to the park that bears his name and many statues, it’s easily accessible via public transportation, either tram or buses. The exhibition itself is quite grand and extensive. Definitely worth a visit.

Franco — Google review

Small but fantastic museum with some truly unique statues from a few time periods with many artists. Highly recommend coming here and spending some time to marvel at both the small and large artifacts. The museum is laid out extremely logically by time period and category and the reusable museum map is well made and reduces waste.

Victor W — Google review

This museum offers an introduction to Vigeland's art and craft. Visiting the museum first and then the Vigeland Sculpture park is more rewarding than visiting that park alone.

The Viking Ship Museum showcases three 9th-century wooden ships and artifacts belonging to Vikings, found during ceremonial burials of important chieftains or nobility. The items buried ranged from food, drink, jewellery, furniture, carriages, weapons and even dogs for companionship for the afterlife. The beautifully restored ships and their wares provide an emotive insight into Viking life.

If you love history and vikings, you must visit the Vikingskipshuset in Oslo. They have some beautiful long boats on display, as well as a number of other viking artifacts.

Christian A — Google review

The Viking Ship Museum was amazing. Three 9th century wooden boats - it’s amazing they have survived! I loved every minute I had here, and got some amazing videos as souvenirs. I learned a lot about the Vikings and consider this museum a highlight of my trip Oslo.

Jennifer B — Google review

Interesting museum that is exactly what it claims to be. No fuss, with focus on the three ships that have been found and restored. There's also a projected movie in of the halls that runs every 15 minutes or so, but that's about it. Have probably expected more for the price, but if you have any interest in the Vikings' history, this is a must.

Erik B — Google review

This is a small museum with a few big viking boats. Still very impressing about the size and the craftmanship skills shown in these boats. Apart from the big boats, there is not much more to see here actually.

Sebastian S — Google review

At first it can look a bit empty and even slightly disappointing (that minimalist Scandinavian way) but then you see the real Viking ships and start noticing all the support information all around. It's a very specific museum and one you can't find anywhere else.

Jorge B — Google review

A beautiful museum that feels surreal to visit. A good way to admire the ancient artwork of our ancestors housed in a very unique building.

Danny A — Google review

To tell the truth, I expected more from the site. I thought that the museum would be bigger and that they would have more typical and autochthonous things from the Viking age, but still, I liked it. The boats amaze a bit. They are beautiful.

Lala — Google review

Small but really interesting museum if you have a thing with Viking history. Seeing the Viking ships is overwhelming and the good part is that you are allowed to take pictures. Detailed info is offered in Norwegian, English and German. Short but very artistic movie about Viking ships is on, every half an hour or so.

Nectaria K — Google review

The Viking Ship Museum is closed for renovation until 2025/2026.Museo pequeño donde ver barcos vikingos auténticos. Gratuito con la Oslo pass.(Translated by Google)The Viking Ship Museum is closed for renovation until 2025/2026.Small museum where you can see authentic Viking ships. The Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, Norway, is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts. Situated on the Bygdøy Peninsula, the museum houses well-preserved Viking ships, including the Oseberg ship, Gokstad ship, and Tune ship. These remarkable vessels, dating back to the 9th century, showcase the intricate craftsmanship and maritime prowess of the Viking Age. Visitors can marvel at the detailed carvings, artifacts, and learn about the cultural and seafaring heritage of the Vikings. The museum provides a fascinating glimpse into Norway's maritime history, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in the legacy of the Viking era.

Kaushal S — Google review

Great place with tons of history on display. Great findings from an era long gone. Ferry ride is lively also. You’ll need a bit more than an hour to wonder around. One of the most interesting things to do while in Oslo.

Pete X — Google review

Wow, this museum was awe-inspiring! The building itself is not very large, but the artifacts inside really do a great job of using the available space. The Viking ships themselves have been preserved very well. The other artifacts expand on the historical knowledge and understanding of the time. The Viking Ship Museum is a must see if you are in the area!

Megan M — Google review

Excellent collection of Viking ships. See Gostad in picture. Also learned Vikings discovered American continent before Columbus.

Dr M — Google review

"The Viking Ship Museum is closed and will reopen in 2026/2027 as the Museum of the Viking Age" Quoted from the official website of this museum. Pictures are made from the Norwegian folk museum and show the construction and expansion of the museum of the Viking age which I will gladly visit when it's open again.

Michiel — Google review

A beautiful museum that takes you back through the history of the Vikings in Norway.

Charbel H — Google review

A relatively short ferry ride away from the Oslo city center and a short walk. The journey there is quite nice as its nestled in more nature. If you're into Viking ships this is a nice stop. Signage is available in English too. It's not a large museum, but filled with interesting artifacts. With the skyhigh prices of Oslo, this was a nice break. You still have to pay, it's just not crazy expensive. I've included on pic of a ship that was on display...very nice.

Harold P — Google review

Loved my time here, came around 4 years ago and returned recently with my wife who funnily enough I met here. Upon arrival we were very disappointed to find out it was Temporarily closed, because of this information my pregnant wife slapped me across the face, later this night the baby was birthed because I needed a miracle after this trauma and now little Renaldo is 5 months old :) Would recommend.

Geirangerfjord is a renowned fjord in Norway that offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, verdant plant life, and magnificent waterfalls. It is part of the National Tourist Routes and can be accessed via Trollstigen. Alesund, the art nouveau city located near Geirangerfjord, boasts rich history and culture with beautiful architecture. Travelers can take a short morning flight to reach Alesund for less than $100, including luggage.

The photos isn’t doing the scenery any justice to be honest, and describing it won’t make it any better. This experience is beyond words. The minute we landed in Alesund, every surrounding was just breathtaking. And when we travelled to Geiranger through the fjord, just wow!We came at the beginning of May and wasn’t expecting to still see snow, but this is like having best of both worlds, see snow like it’s winter but having the temperature of spring. Just lovely!

Timothy L — Google review

it feels unreal hiking up there to see the beautiful waterfalls. it's worth it. we wohld definitely walk up there again.

Derby K — Google review

Can’t rate it less than five stars despite the number of tourists. The boat ride is recommended as the best way to see both the cascades and fjord, as well as the various hiking trails nearby to get different angles of the fjord and meet some friendly llamas on the way.

Anamaria C — Google review

This Fjord is a must visit port, (if your booking a one off Norwegian cruise). Steep sides, waterfalls and awesome beauty, what more do you want? The town is small but has an awesome waterfall you can walk up alongside to the top of town. An all round great day is guaranteed.

Frank S — Google review

What a breathtaking scenery! 😍Every aspect is stunning like the picture created by photoshop. I went there by car and hiked to the top to see waterfall.I visited in June and the weather is great 👍

พนิดา ณ — Google review

The most beautiful fjord in Norway. I recommend staying at the Hotell Utsikten Geiranger for some breath taking views of the fjord. I also recommend taking the drive from Balenstrand to Geiranger, which will take you through some unbelievable mountains with very narrow roads.

Christian A — Google review

Wonder of Nature. Amazing. No words can describe beauty of this place. Just heaven on Earth.

Agata F — Google review

this fjord is an UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and its very beautiful.the only drawback about this place is that it is always crowded and there are always lots of cruises in the area.i would recommend you to stay in this beautiful town to actually enjoy the beauty of this fjord. And do not do the fjord cruise, instead do RIB ride which is more thrilling and exciting !!

Ankur K — Google review

Fabulously beautiful place! As an older person (68yo), with bad knees, the hiking was somewhat difficult for me, considering that NO PLACE in Norway is level ground :). It was worth the soreness to do the hiking that I did and to see the Fjord Center with the water rushing right next to it. I took so many photos because it was one photogenic scene after another

Sheryl B — Google review

It is an enjoyable cruise and amazing view of the Geirqnger Fjord, Seven Sisters and surrounding mountains. We were told that it is remarkable that there is still a lot of snow in the mountains. It is very breezy and please wear warm clothing even its Spring time (visited on 14th May 2023, Sunday).Another Fjord that you should not miss it.

WS — Google review

One of the nicest Fjords, it's worth starting the day early to take a breath of this beautiful country. I would recommend to come first with a cruise ship to get a first impression and then later on by car on a individual itinerary, to get a much deeper look into the history of Gairanger and the other Fjords. Keep in mind hat Norway is an expensive country but worth it to see once in a lifetime.

Dominic C — Google review

A place that everyone must see. Silence, beautiful nature, wonderful views. It cannot be described, you have to see it for yourself. I heartily recommend it, for a moment you can feel like a real Viking :)

Dariusz M — Google review

Must-visit place. Picturesque views, but obviously overcrowded. Luckily you are there is a good weather

Valeriia M — Google review

Took the car ferry through the fjord as it passes by the waterfalls and farm buildings. Commentary was interesting enough but we weren't overly blown away by the waterfalls and the scenery was just nice. Geiranger had masses of cruise ship tourists and buses blocking the roads and getting near the viewpoints of the fjord was too difficult.

Castle

Museums

Kronborg Slot, a 16th-century castle that served as the model for Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet, is an impressive Renaissance structure declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its baroque green-copper spires crown a vast complex surrounded by moats and fortifications with Vaubanesque star bastions. Visitors can explore the inner palace's rooms adorned with tapestries and ceiling paintings, and marvel at the viewpoints it offers.

The castle is very interesting and filled with history.I really am thankful for the amazing staff there. They are very good with speaking English and are very welcoming to everyone.Me and my group had a tour guide and he was incredibly funny and interesting. He told us a lot of things I didn’t know about the castles history.

Mike O — Google review

A good museum but it felt like it could be great. The phone-based tour seemed incomplete and didn't flow well; also three of the four "tracks" were only in Danish (perhaps it's very new?).The live action guides were okay but also could have been more engaging with adults. The "cafe" was disappointing.

Pete ( — Google review

Kronborg Castle is a treasure, transporting visitors back in time with its rich history and breathtaking architecture. Don't miss the chance to see the famous "Hamlet's Castle" where Shakespeare's iconic tragedy was set – it's truly magical. Besides the captivating history, the castle is surrounded by well-maintained gardens, providing a peaceful spot to relax and take in the panoramic views.

Shivesh K — Google review

Nice walk. You can fully walk around the castle inside and outside the castle walls. Only to enter the castle and entrance fee is necessary.

Fabian V — Google review

One of the most beautiful, interesting, fascinating places I have ever visited. The rich history of the castle and the location make it a very special site, and the exhibition by Jim Lyngvild was absolutely magnificent.Highly recommended!!

Bassam A — Google review

Super entertaining castle for kids as well as a very intriguing museum. The story laid put by the staff for the kids to follow was very well thought out and immersive, they all really enjoyed it! It was also interesting to learn about the rich history of this UNESCO site!

Cale O — Google review

The castle is worth visiting even without paying to go inside (the ticket is kinda pricey, 14€ per person). The place looks wonderful, and while resting on the beach we even sighted a wild seal and a harbour porpoise!Around the castle there are lots of workshop and art galleries which is nice as it feels like local artists really have a way to express themselves and get the possibility to expose their work. The little gift shop is also a bit pricey but it has funny little Hamlet-themed quirks.Too bad they didn't write "to be or not to baby" on the baby onesie 😆

Giulia C — Google review

Kronborg Castle is an absolute treasure that deserves every one of its 5 stars. Steeped in history and famously known as the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet, this castle is a must-visit destination.Walking through the halls and chambers of Kronborg Castle feels like stepping back in time. The rich tapestry of Danish history comes alive as you explore this magnificent fortress. From the imposing battlements to the intricate details of the interior, every corner tells a story. The connection to Shakespeare's Hamlet adds an extra layer of intrigue and fascination to the visit. It's as if you've stepped onto the stage of one of the most iconic plays in literary history.Kronborg Castle's location at the edge of the sea adds to its allure, offering stunning views of the surrounding waters. Whether you're a history buff, a literature enthusiast, or simply looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of Danish architecture, this castle has it all.Kronborg Castle is a historical and cultural marvel that should be on everyone's bucket list. It's a place where the past comes alive, and every moment feels like a journey through time.

Andrew L — Google review

There are plenty of things to do and see at the castle, if you are with private tour then you will get more time to explore. View from the top of tower is magnificent, steps aren’t that tough. Each room explains its history. Exploring the case mates below the ground was fun. Some areas are totally dark. I loved the countryside drive. Its worth to visit👍

I loved this castle on the shore of Helsingør. It is very exquisite and has beautiful fortifications. The barracks are colorful and a walk right here can be really rewarding for the eyes and soul

Globetrot M — Google review

Great castle. Before visiting it, didn’t even know, that hamlet was happening exactly in this castle. Distinctive place with quite a few interactive exposions, like the bed you can lay on and etc. worth visiting

Nikita ( — Google review

Beautiful place, absolutely recommended. The castle is really well preserved, the whole surrounding area kept in excellent condition gives the place the right lift. It's nice to visit these places without excessive crowds, immersing yourself a little in the "part". In the facing area you can organize a nice picnic or visit Helsingborg, a characteristic town is pleasant. A word of advice, Go into the alleys the urban architecture is a fantastic surprise.

ANNA L — Google review

Fun castle to visit. Courtyard has lots of activities, like stilt walking and how medieval workmen used pulley systems to lift stones. Jesters, and Courtisan actors around the castle to provide interactive fun.Castle rooms interesting with lots of well written information. And encouraged to sit / touch / play act in parts... even a Hamlet set.

Jonathan W — Google review

Huge beautiful castle with huge gardens, cannal and tunnels. Worth getting here if you are in Denmark and even if you come to Copenhagen. There is also nice view to the see and the Swedish town.

סער ש — Google review

This is the famous castle mentioned in Shakespeare's Hamlet, Kronborg. It's only an hour train ride north from Copenhagen. If you have purchased the Copenhagen city pass, your castle entrance is FREE. The souvenir shop inside the castle has a lot of stuff on Shakespeare.Come visit just to see the history, the beautiful scenery and ocean view.If you have the time, the ferry is a short distance from the castle and a 20-minute ride to Sweden. The Swedish people are NICE and friendly!!!!!

Suzie K — Google review

Thoughtful, fun cultural spot to visit. Well-curated exhibits, easily navigable areas that respect the architecture while delivering a modern experience of real history. Nearby to a food hall, with two coffee shops. Highly recommend!

Candace S — Google review

The castle is spacious and pretty. When we visited, there was an exhibition Magical Ceilings highlighting their beauty. However, some rooms only have natural light and, therefore, some rooms were too dark to see the furniture and paintings well.

n.cierna — Google review

Wonderful Renaissance castle beside the harbor of Helsignør. The staff were very, very helpful, especially the two men dressed as a courtier and a jester.

Patrick O — Google review

This isacastleand stronghold. It is also famous world over asthe setting of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The castle is open to visitors including the royal chambers, the ballroom, the chapel and various other sections. The staff provides a quick introduction after which one is free to explore the castle on their own. There was a lot to learn about the Danish history and specially about Kind Frederick II and his queen who was quite astute with managing the finances after the King. The castle is walking distance away from the Helsingör central station which is also where the ferry from Sweden disembarks. There are washrooms available in the castle premises.

The W — Google review

One of the most important sights in Denmark that you must not miss. The museum in the castle takes you far back in the Danish history. Just opposite the castle there is a new Library which is also worth visiting. Helsingør itself is also a nice town worth seeing.

The Oresund Bridge is a huge bridge that links Sweden and Denmark across the Sound. It's a long combined railway and road bridge that spans 8 kilometers to the man-made island of Peberholm, before turning into a tunnel to cross to Copenhagen.

Passed under the Øresund Bridge... Good to watch bridge architecture from sea... Railway track built beautifully below the road... Great experience👍

What else to say than that the Øresund-bridge is the best way to get to Sweden? Smooth and majestic ride across the strait, never experienced any delaying traffic or similar. This Christmas, when storm Pia was visiting the region, the bridge was closed for a few hours, but my feeling is it is rather flexible when it comes to opening in different weather conditions.

A masterpiece of engineering and its wonderful appearance is a real experience to drive on it!The Öresund Bridge or Øresund Bridge (Danish Øresundsbroen, Swedish Öresundsbron) is a combined road-rail bridge over the Øresund Strait. The bridge connects the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, with Malmö in Sweden, and more broadly, Scandinavia with Central and Western Europe. The European highway E20 passes through the bridge. Passenger and freight transport takes place on its double-track railway track. With a length of 7,845 meters, the bridge is the longest road-railway bridge in Europe. The bridge itself accounts for about half of the distance between the two coasts, the rest is bridged by the artificial island called Peberholm (4055 m), the tunnel leading from there to the Danish side (4050 m) and the artificial peninsula established on the Danish side (430 m). The bridge was handed over on July 1, 2000 by II. Queen Margaret of Denmark and XVI. King Gustav Károly of Sweden.

Attila B — Google review

Beautiful and important bridge uniting two scandibavian countries! I wish the visitors center had been cleaner though (cigarette butts and garbage everywhere).

KJ G — Google review

I had my flight from Gothenburg to Koppenhagen, but a friend of mine suggested I take the train and experience the Øresund Bridge. Also escape the nonsense of going hours early to airport and paying exorbitant rates for taxi.Did take the train. Unfortunately it got delayed and I was disappointed. But my disappointment was balanced by the ride over Øresund Bridge.A mini Golden Gate, except that in this case it connects 2 countries Sweden and Denmark.Truly an inspiring experience with all the respect to the engineers who designed and built it.Sharing some pics for others to appreciate it. But nothing like experiencing it.

Aziz A — Google review

The Øresund Bridge in Malmo is nothing short of an engineering marvel and an iconic symbol of connectivity and innovation. Spanning across the beautiful waters of the Øresund Strait, this bridge is a testament to human ingenuity and architectural prowess. One of the most striking aspects of the Øresund Bridge is its stunning design. The elegant, sweeping curves and sleek lines of the structure create a sense of grace and beauty that perfectly complements the surrounding natural landscape. But beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Øresund Bridge serves a crucial purpose, connecting Sweden and Denmark in an efficient and convenient way. It has not only made travel between these two countries more accessible but has also fostered economic and cultural ties, making it a symbol of unity and cooperation.Whether you're driving across the bridge, taking a train, or simply admiring it from a distance, the Øresund Bridge is an awe-inspiring sight that leaves a lasting impression. It's a remarkable testament to human achievement and a must-visit landmark for anyone traveling to the region.

Andrew L — Google review

It’s a wonderful bridge connecting between Sweden 🇸🇪 and Denmark 🇩🇰, the design is amazing because it’s going under the water, great feeling and nice experience if it’s your first time seeing such beautiful bridge 🌉, also great choice for architecture and landscape and landmark photographs to capture a very special photo with long exposure

Prices to cross are an absolute joke. £40 to cross one way by motorcycle… more than it cost to fill a tank of petrol. Nice tame Scandinavian views though.

Z.M. T — Google review

Took the train from Copenhagen to Gothenburg today. Less than 1/2 price of flying and almost same amount of time without all the airport security hassle.

Brett R — Google review

What a stunning bridge. If you go from Sweden to Denmark you have to cross the bridge. Plan that there is a fee in the bridge. You can buy combo tickets if you also take a ferry to Germany or elsewhere back. Also buy an online pass or just go there and pay at a service station and get the Maut right there. It’s 55€ so far. You can not walk or bike over the bridge. But the view is stunning crossing it from both sides. Worth going to Sweden by car.

Historical landmark

Sights & Landmarks

The Little Mermaid statue is one of the most iconic and recognizable statues in Copenhagen, Denmark. The statue, created by Danish artist Edvard Eriksen, is of a character from H.C. Andersen's fairytale.

Went to see the mermaid because it is a must when visiting the city. Some people say it is not worth visiting because of how small it is, and because it’s only a statue. However, I think it is worth visiting, although the statue is just what you can see in the picture, the place where it is is very beautiful, you do need to walk 15-20 minutes, but with such gorgeous views it isn’t a problem.

Karol G — Google review

Location is just Cool and pleasant to take walk with loved ones. Statue isn’t big but the history behind it is captivating. Industries and wind mills behind the statue will increase the beauty even more attractive.Easily can spend 1 to 2 hours just enjoying the climate.

Rakesh J — Google review

The little mermaid is one of the iconic sites of Copenhagen. The mermaid is located on the Kastellet (the citadel) area of the city, which is Europe's oldest in use barracks. The area provides ample opportunities to take photos and I highly recommend walking the grounds to get the best perspectives. The mermaid itself can get very busy with tourists, however there are plenty of angles to capture shots whilst avoiding photo bombers.

Greg K — Google review

The most notable landmark of the city. It is situated in a nice park next to the sea so we had such a nice walk to reach it that day. I was not surprised by the size but quite the opposite I thought it was going to be super small while it is like human size. It was crowded but still easily approachable. I was also surprised that tourists can reach and touch the statue itself.

Predrag M — Google review

I came here because 'you have to' and after traveling to multiple countries, I guess I'm used to see landmarks that are not spectacular per se. The story behind the mermaid was what initially attracted me. The statue is very simple and even discrete, at night there's not even a light to highlighted it. The area around is gorgeous and it makes the visit worth it.

Cristian G — Google review

I visited little mermaid in Copenhagen on 28.10.2022 and it really a refreshing relaxing and memorable experience. It is a very peaceful ambiance and park close to this place is a must to visit place. It is 10-15 mon walk from the nearest station. You will get very peaceful environment to stay there.. Highly Recommend Place to Visit in Denmark…

Muhammad P — Google review

It's a nice walk up to the mermaid. The fountain before the mermaid is more stunning, just at the foot of the fortress. The mermaid is traditional to visit. But could be slightly disappointing.

Mariam E — Google review

Come early if you want a picture on your own, but this is on all the tours and near the hop on hop off bus stop. There are several statues and places to visit near here, including the Genetically modified Paradise and GM Little Mermaid. You could see the copy in the Reception of the Scandic Copenhagen hotel

Nigel P — Google review

It’s a very unique place and lot of tourists reach this place to see the beauty of this statue. More children are exited to visit. To have a visit we can take the public transport, can walk or can have a ride in a boat with all the information guides. I went by walking and I recommend to walk from the center so you can find everyplace while you reaching this destination. It was a small statue. Near you can find some ice cream tracks and some other food tracks also. If you have time can visit to this place or you can skip also while you planning your travels. There are some many people so if we need to take a picture with the mermaid we need to wait little longer. It’s free. No need of a ticket

Chrishatheya V — Google review

To see the Little Mermaid is surely a must if one is in Copenhagen. We took a stroll down the Park to the seafront ,it was crowded with visitors taking her picture. Indeed she is really little, sitting there waiting to meet her Prince! Happy that i got to see her !

Susan C — Google review

I found the statue to be quite charming and the area to be lovely for walking. The statue isn't huge, but the draw isn't the size but instead the story. Work with angles and camera zoom and some nice shots can be taken, too. I'd recommend a visit and also encourage others to explore the area around the statue.

Aaron P — Google review

Based on the 1837 fairy tale of the same name by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, the small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and has been a major tourist attraction since its unveiling in 1913. In recent decades it has become a popular target for defacement by vandals and political activists.Mermaid is among iconic statues that symbolize cities. You can sit on bench and enjoy the view.

Gegham R — Google review

It's a beautiful statue based on H.C Andersen's fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. There's more to see in the area then just the statue. I recommend walking around. You never know what is around in Denmark.

A'lan L — Google review

It's worth the visit, even with everyone else flocking there. But it's one of those things you have to see as it's the city's icon and should also be remembered to celebrate the works of Hans Christian Andersen.

Bruno H — Google review

Not much to look at, except a little statue sitting atop a rock, in some water. But I hear its a must visit landmark when in Copenhagen, so I guess it means a lot to a lot of people.Expect large crowds at most times of the day, tons of people fighting for the perfect selfie spot for the memories. Not much else, I have to say. And, oh, mind the rocks when finding your selfie spot.

Wonder M — Google review

It is a lovely statue but oh my, so so many people taking pictures! I couldn't get close to it at all to see the Little Mermaid properly. The rocks are slippery when wet and I saw quite a few people slip. If you have time in the city, go a little later on or early, to avoid crowds.

Finailla H — Google review

It's a beautiful sculpture. Easy access by bike. There is no entry fee. it's free to visit. Even though the place was crowded, taking pictures was not so hard. This place is surrounded by water and has an amazing view. And it's very close from Marble Church.

Rupa M — Google review

An iconic and beautiful sculpture. Yes, the area is overloaded with tourists, but the walk out to the area is great, and goes through a large park. You can also walk through the old fort on the way. The statue will be appreciated the most by people who enjoy art.

N M — Google review

Loved the view of people crawling around the little statue to take pictures. The mainly empty parking revealed that it was extremely quiet. I cannot imagine visiting the statue in high season. It must be chaotic. The statue itself is lovely, but since the city is full of - in my opinion - more impressive statues, I would always choose to avoid it in high season. The surroundings on the other hand is making strolling around definetely worth it. We sat down by the waterfront and watched boats, swans and blossoming trees.

Gemma D — Google review

Well worth the walk especially since the excellent Kastellet is right next to it. The mermaid is right by the shoreline, so easy to see and photograph. Fun, free, recommended.

Chris B — Google review

Some say the statue is a disappointment due to being so small. I didn't fund it a disappointment at all and think it's a must-see in Copenhagen. Interesting history of the statue and nostalgic for anyone who grew up with Hans Christian Andersen’s original story.

Jen — Google review

This is a wonderful statue and very popular. There are areas to walk or cycle and the tour buses stop here.

Martin B — Google review

Beautiful, elegiac, and poignant. Take a moment and soak in the surroundings - you won’t be disappointed. Statue is a mixture of sadness, freedom, and a sense of being trapped in motion. Brilliant.

Brennan D — Google review

Copenhagen landmark with an interesting history. We went early to avoid the worst of the crowds and combined the visit with a lovely walk around the area. There is a large park, an old fort and a long seafront to explore.

S — Google review

A beautiful place.Good for a walk on a sunny summer evening. If there is a lack of signs on the many sculptures, Google will help you to tell the story.

Simon B — Google review

A tourist attraction of Copenhagen. It's in a park and you can have a good view of the sea. There's a field of windmills on the opposite side. You can get a hot drink (e.g. coffee, tea, chocolate) from the coffee car that park next to the status.

Charlotte L — Google review

A bronze sculpture. Created by Edward Eriksen. It's a character from H.C Andersen's fairy tales. Size wize it's not big. But the surrounding view is awesome. You can definitely spend good time over her.

Anil O — Google review

I was told that she is there since 100+ years and nobody knows who placed her there and why.I visited her on a windy cold day, she sits there in the cold, admiring the sea, she appears sad may be bcoz she is worried about all the smoke that the shipping companies were producing and imagining where the world is heading to.I spent time admiring her and taking few pics and enjoying the scenic views, the windmills.was really not happy with the smoke from the shipping industries.I was also told that she was thrown paint and decapitated few times. There is no entry fee, it is next to castle and a huge park where you can spend time walking around. it is windy, I suggest you gear up to handle the cold.

Harbor

Historic Walking Areas

Copenhagen’s Nyhavn is a beautiful harbor lined with restaurants and bars. It was originally a working-class area filled mostly with sailors and fishermen, but Baroque Architecture still pops up in many of the buildings. The harbor is one of the most popular areas in the city and its a great place to start exploring Copenhagen!

This was a beautiful place with loads of tourists as well as loads of Christmas vibes were coming from that... As there was a Christmas market as well as there was harbour to have a boat ride... With so colourful buildings.... It was a great spot to enjoy with friends and family. There were so many restaurants available over there and lots of cafes to have some snacks

Kitz K — Google review

PROS: historical neighborhood | well preserved | perfect for selfie loversCONS: bars & restaurants are clearly overpriced

Pedro F — Google review

What a charming little harbour we came an hr before sunset and got some beautiful photographs. It's a must visit area for food and drink

Martin S — Google review

A must for Copenhagen! The place has an unique charm due to the colorful old houses. Some of them are about 400 years old and in several once H. C. Andersen has resided! Various restaurants are absolutely great, however, proces are above the average for the city. One should visit the place at sunset.

Stanislav Y — Google review

Cool place with lots of colourful buildings - but as with all popular places there are a lot of tourists. You can see the buildings and then just go somewhere else to eat where it’s quieter if you’re not wanting to see hoards of tourists.

Tom F — Google review

A picturesque spot with brightly coloured buildings along a waterfront. This is a beautiful spot, with the bright buildings and boats along the wharves making it feel very bucolic. However, while it is very lovely to see, many of the places along here are quite expensive, even by Copenhagen standards.

David D — Google review

Probably one of the prettiest places I have ever travelled to. The different coloured houses are stunning to look at and the atmosphere around Nyhavn is so nice as well. It feels very relaxing when you stroll around and just take it all in. Definitely recommend!

TravelCheapWithChloe — Google review

Lovely, relaxing place just to stroll about and enjoy the ambiance. Find a nice place to eat, grab a drink, then find some dessert. Sit outside and enjoy the ocean, the weather and the people.

Brady R — Google review

One of best walks in Copenhagen and a must visit.Nice promenade by the water canal and many restaurants on the side , food was not that good and very touristic and don’t recommend eating in the area, the place is very full of people, bars. A must visit for sure ✔️

Samer R — Google review

Great sightseeing place in Copenhagen, and good place to walk around the river. Lot of restaurants & bars around but are bit pricey given the location. Should visit around sunset time to get some great views.

Rajat B — Google review

Beautiful place to visit when in Copenhagen! Buildings are very picturesque- colorful and nice. There are good restaurants on this street and not forget to take boat trip!

Denis N — Google review

Must visit in Copenhagen!! Can enjoy the pier and take a walk or canal touring. It’s really a beautiful place.

Christy L — Google review

Cute are with lots of restaurants. Nice area to walk and look at the boats in the canal. Near a main street for shops as well. It is one of the most photographed streets in Copenhagen, I have been told.

Tina F — Google review

My favourite place in Copenhagen. Make sure you come here at sunset, you will fall in love with it. They also have market at sunset time so why not come here at sunset?

?? — Google review

Wonderful place to chill with friends and family , they have very good view and also got amazing restaurants. It can get a lot crowded during weekends and holiday but even then its worth visiting 😁

Pratik K — Google review

Colorful, touristy, harbour district. Worth a walk around. Sit in one of the cafes to take the view over beer or coffee. Walking distance to Stroget.

Brasukra S — Google review

Beautiful area and buildings. I went at the end of November as the Xmas stalls starting popping up along the water so it was pretty busy.

Ben A — Google review

Beautiful area, which is the postcard place of Copenhagen. Definitely a must visit if you are in Copenhagen. There are a lot many street food items, lots of restaurants. You can walk on the road with your dear ones and the vibe is extremely nice. You might have to go there during the evening to enjoy the vibe the most.

Aman J — Google review

A not too crowded tourist attraction spot.Nice short walk in the evening. There are many restaurant that sell drinks and provide an outdoor seating there. You can have a look at a variety of souvenir shop on the other side of the color building.

Vitchakorn P — Google review

Nyhavn is Copenhagen's charming and colorful canal, famous for its vibrantly colored houses and picturesque boats. With a unique and lively atmosphere, it is the perfect place to stroll, enjoy a meal outdoors or simply take stunning photographs.Nyhavn captures the essence of Danish life and is a highlight on any visit to Copenhagen.Totally recommended!!

Gaston D — Google review

Amazing place, beautiful scenery and architecture. Restaurants serve great food. Absolutely loved this place. This is the place travel companies use on their travel brochures for Scandinavia.

Trevor J — Google review

A beautiful part of Copenhagen and definitely a must visit. The buildings are lovingly restored and are resplendent in their gayly painted colours. There are canal rides that you can go on, and many of the buildings house a variety of restaurants, as well as the famous store selling waffles with ice cream and churrios.

Steven L — Google review

Colourful canal houses which include a museum to Hans Christian Andersen. Lined with busy waterside cafes, fish and chips and tourists. Starting point for canal boat trips.

A I — Google review

Beautiful architecture along the canal. We visited at night and in the morning. The views are nicer in the day. There a lot of cafes and restaurants, but heard that these are quite expensive. Nice to take photos along the canal but it’s near a bicycle lane so just be careful.

Z Y — Google review

It's nice to walk along the canal with these pretty colorful houses on both sides. If you walk to the end of the canal, you can take the water bus. There's also a stop in the Opera House on the opposite side.

Charlotte L — Google review

Nyhavn is fantastic! The colorful buildings are so pretty, and there are lots of boats. It's a great place to take pictures and enjoy the atmosphere. Would recommend!

Theme park

Nature & Parks

Tivoli Gardens is a charming amusem*nt park located in Copenhagen, Denmark that is popular with tourists from all over the world. The theme park features a wide array of attractions, including a precision-preened roses garden, globally inspired architecture, low-key spin-off of Michelin starred restaurant Kiin Kiin and a ballet theatre. There are also outdoor jazz, classical and contemporary music performances as well as illuminated by soothing fairytale lights.

This place is amazing. You can see how it inspired Walt Disney. You can walk around to enjoy the fine food and gardens without riding a ride. The food is high quality, not fast food. The shops are as nice as the ones found in town. As for the rides, the views from the tall swings are amazing. The ride on the old rollercoaster is fun and quite historic. The park changes clothes at night :-)

Kevin H — Google review

Nice amusem*nt park. Not very big but right in the city centre. Beautiful decorations for Halloween and lovely restaurants. Some restaurants are very expensive. They have menus outside so no nasty surprises.A few good rides. Some are very scary. We went in November in the afternoon. The queues for the rides took about 20min. The weather was a bit cold. They have some shops too. Our friends found something to buy there. If you like the rides, you can easily spend all day in the park.

Julia I — Google review

🎡🎢🎠It's a very nice theme park with lots of interesting rides. I was so excited and having so much fun that I didn't take many pictures.😆 But the best for me is The tallest ride in the amusem*nt park I don't know what it's called, but it has seats like swing and it goes up and spins. Above, there is a very beautiful view overlooking the whole of Copenhagen.🇩🇰

??????? ? — Google review

I bought the entrance fee that did not include the rides... I was very happy just to walk around and view the gardens. I must say, that this was the most beautiful and green amusem*nt park I have ever seen And it was a real trip to be able to walk under the roller coaster. (I had never seen that before.)Also plenty of eating places and shopping areas.

Lillian P — Google review

I just paid for entry as I'm not a fan of rides. But the place was lovely lots bigger than I expected, it had a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend to visit at around 6pm in the summer have a wonder in the daylight maybe grab something to eat and then you will see it in the dark too. It was the night which made the place even more stunning

Phoebe B — Google review

Such an amazing place. The gardens themselves are beautiful. The rides are great and they have such a variety. There are quite a few rides for young kids around 3 years old. There’s so much to do and the space is so well utilized that you don’t feel like you’re walking for miles on end. This is a must visit place in Copenhagen.

Kwon — Google review

The park is super beautiful, the haunted houses were super fun to go to and just the whole vibe of the place was amazing. The Halloween decorations were also super fun. The only downside is the price of entrance and for the rides, which was quite high in my opinion. Even though the prices were high I can't wait to go again for the Christmas theme.

Leah W — Google review

I think if not the best, one of the top parks in Europe. Great restaurants, coffee bars, theaters, garden, entertainment park in such a great combination. Especially if you visiting when it's ready for Christmas. So many activities and entertainment you will definitely enjoy! Must see for sure.

Aris K — Google review

In the heart of the city, this amusem*nt park is very well maintained and decorated. To enter you have to pay entry to the gardens, and if you want, you can pay for the attractions one at a time, but I don't recommend it since each one costs a minimum of 7 euros, it is better to buy the pass for all of them.It has several environments and you can go for a walk through its beautiful gardens and have a drink in any of its cafes, eat in one of its restaurants or ride the different attractions. There are musical shows and the attractions look very fun!Really good experience!!

Gaston D — Google review

Stunning place. Relaxing and just a great place to visit. An oasis in the city centre.Gardens / Theme park, choose what you prefer or both. Either way it's got a relaxed atmosphere. If you visit Copenhagen this needs to be on your jobs list.

Jason D — Google review

Had an amazing evening here! We bought the compete package (entry and unlimited rides and photos) and definitely made our money's worth in rides. Lots of options, from super kid friendly to super scary (the Demon). So many food options, but gasoline grill gets special mention for their huge fries portion. If you are there on Saturday stay for the light show and the fireworks. If you have time while in Copenhagen this will be a fun night out.

Claire D — Google review

A unique place. Rides, an aquarium, gardens, restaurants and barsVery easy going and family friendly atmosphere. Queues were short and the ride pass works so well.It seems small but has an incredible amount in one location. Lovely to see old people falling asleep in deck chairs on a sunny afternoon while kids are having fun on rides.

Tim H — Google review

As it is one of the oldest theme park, it is worth to visit. For anyone who love taking photos, I recommended to go before evening time. Then u can enjoy both day and night vibe. Not so big one.

S K — Google review

Had a great day here. Something for everyone and you can spend the whole day and see the gardens and environment change as darkness arrives. Great app that let's you download ride photos for free which is much better than other places who insist in charging extortionate prices. Many places to eat and drink with lots of variety and again no real increase in prices from anywhere else in Copenhagen. Even got to see a concert in the evening on the day we went, great value for money and a definite visit if in Copenhagen.

Andrew H — Google review

I brought a sibling here, and they loved it. I enjoyed it myself here as well. It's a very beautiful amusem*nt park and I loved how it was connected to the food hall which has a variety of great food options. The staff were really kind and I believe it's safe to say that this is a must visit for everyone especially families. It's also very nicely located literally being in front of Copenhagen Central Station. I will definitely come back!

Misi — Google review

Fridays suck as they have concerts and it's going to be packed....aim for a cloudy weekday...some days you will wait ages in lines, we where lucky and had 10 min wait for rides....lots of people come here to see the flowers and lights for which there is no line.Sunny weekends are going to be packed.Danish weather is temperamental, bring plastic ponchos and hope for the best, wind does not get bad here

Lasse L — Google review

If you are a tourist and you love history and art, this is the place for you to visit. The fun rides may be a little out of date, but keep in mind they were from 100 years ago. Everything was so beautiful and artistically arranged. There were plenty of restaurants and coffee shops and chocolates. The Garden was not only for the kids but also the adults of all ages. We were glad that we saved the place last during our stay at Copenhagen.

Libinski 0 — Google review

Very nice place. Finely decorated for Halloween. I expect they'll do a great job for Christmas as well. I think this place is a bit overrated, though. Don't get me wrong, it's very nice and there are few fun rides. But I would go here only if I stayed for a few days in Copenhagen. Don't sacrifice other beautiful spots in the city to go here instead. But as a last day thing to do and especially if you're there with friends, it's a fun place where to spend a few hours

Daniele U — Google review

Went in November knowing little about the place. Had an incredible time in the massive winter wonderland with shops and stalls ans even fairground rides! Definitely recommend going in winter.Ride pass is around €30 on top of €18 entrance fee but you can enter without a ride pass and pay for rides individually or not at all. Worth the price though

ilana — Google review

We were there at Christmas with family. It was so beautifully decorated, there were rides for all ages, delicious food. I recommend, for Christmas, to see how many rides planning to go on before buying the unlimited band.

Jill C — Google review

Underwhelming. Paid 160dkk (£18) to enter. The rides were fairly interesting to look at as they’re prettier than what you get at a typical British fairground but didn’t seem particularly thrilling inducing so didn’t give any a go. Would probably be worth it if you have young children who would enjoy the smaller rides however.

Maxim C — Google review

Lovely little theme park that's perfect for the kids. There is not much to walk, the rides are designed mostly for kids with only a couple that are on the extreme side and there is plenty of food and drink choices in such a small place. What was also great is that the entrance cost is cheaper if you don't want to go on the rides, making it possible to go in to experience the historic architecture of one of the oldest theme parks in the world. You're also able to come and go from the park on the day you go, just remember to get your hand stamped before leaving.

W S — Google review

Nice and neat park that has many things to do. It's fun for children and older adrenaline enthusiasts. The ride pass is absolutely worth getting if you plan on going for at least 3 or more rides. The park is also very pretty in the evening when they turn on the colourful lights.

Žan P — Google review

Amazing. If you’re in Copenhagen you have to go, no question. I have visited both during summer and to see the Christmas markets, both were great with the Christmas lights really taking the cake for me, I felt like I was in a movie. Rides are also great, but just seeing the lights and market stalls are also plenty to do. So many great food options inside for both food and desserts, so definitely come hungry.

Rosie H — Google review

Great place to visit with friends, family or your loved ones. Decorated with astonishing lights. You will only fully enjoy them when is dark. I saw fountain show accompanied by classic music. That was fantastic experience.Rides look different from each other, very unique, but I didn't go on them. You have to pay extra to use them.

Lukasz K — Google review

Absolutely in love with this place! The rides are great and the staff are just brilliant. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Honestly the best experience ever! Can't wait to be back for another theme, maybe for Halloween 🎃

Edina K — Google review

It’s amazing how many attractions can be squeezed into one city block. Great for kids, teens and those still young at heart. Food price and choices range from stalls and food market outlets to the brasserie at the Hotel Nimb.

A I — Google review

It's a wonderful, almost magical place. You can feel like you're in a fairy tale there. We visited on December 30th, and despite the large number of people, the vastness of the park made it feel uncrowded. In the evening, it has an even more enchanting charm. It's important to mention that using the Copenhagen Card, you can enter the park twice in one day by obtaining a special stamp. However, for some attractions, tickets are not always available at the machines - you need to purchase a package. For those who prefer not to buy packages, using the app might be somewhat inconvenient. My only suggestion - improve and maintain your app.

Karolina G — Google review

Amazing experience for adults and children! Even though many rides are difficult for us who feel dizzy there are plenty other rides to enjoy with your little ones ! Even if you do not rides it is really worth visiting this amazing place which as the sun falls is full of tiny lights making it a magical place! Food and drinks are quite expensive though!

Claire P — Google review

Absolutely fantastic. I visited in December 2023 with family, including two kids in prams. Spent the whole day there, and you can leave with the kids of you need to and re-enter (make sure you get that days stamp on your hand!)Highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance to skip the queues, and if you get the ticket that includes free digital images, download the app and set that up ahead of time! We made that mistake and missed out on images. Don't forget to take your one free go at the wheel - it's the huge one beside Aquila I think!I rode everything I could, and had a great time. My faves are the demon and star flyer I think! I also recommend bringing scarves and gloves if you're riding the taller rides in the winter!!I think it's superb that it's a themes seasonal attraction and I'd love to visit again in spring.

yenjii — Google review

Such an amazing place. We loved it and we had a lot of fun there. The gardens are very well taken care of and the games are suitable for all ages. They present some shows and plays as well. Inside, you will have everything you may need, restaurants, toilets…etc. and of course, they have Lego shop :). It’s a bit expensive, but it’s not for Denmark and for all what they offer. Highly recommended, especially with kids. You can go out and go back again, but you need kind of permission.

Nariman E — Google review

Amusem*nt park is great for a family day out. Located within the Copenhagen centre, easily accessible with public transport. If you want to engage with many items it is worth getting the full pass rather than paying for each ride separately. There are musical shows happening as well with some cafes and restaurants.

Dinuka S — Google review

Visited around December time and it was a wonderful wonderland! There were so many stalls of food and gifts inside creating a lovely Christmas atmosphere. We didn’t even go on any rides and still managed to spend 2 hours here just exploring the beautiful grounds! Definitely a highlight of what Copenhagen has to offer.

Sophie E — Google review

Tivoli Gardens is a must do day out for families when visiting Copenhagen. The theme park is one of the oldest in the World and is famous for inspiring the original US Disneyland..The gardens are located directly opposite Copenhagen central station and its location and presence in the city is very unique for a capital..Using the Copenhagen Card we were able to gain access to the gardens as part of the cards attractions ticket meaning that the only additional charge was the ride pass, which gives you access to all the rides all day long, for as many times as you wish. Please note, if you only want to go on 1 or 2 rides you can just pay as go but 3+ makes buying a ride pass worth it..My kids loved the rocket and wooden rollercoaster and went on both 4 times each + most of the other rides with only a few exceptions..The gardens are a spectacular attraction in themselves and it was very enjoyable taking in the different settings and venues dotted around the rides..There are plenty of places to eat and drink and all are of a high standard and are reasonably priced. If you wish, you can leave and return to the park so long as you get a stamp. However, tickets and passes are only valid for 1 day..As mentioned at the start of this review Tivoli is a must visit attraction in Copenhagen even if you don't like rides as the site is full of history and character.

Greg K — Google review

Beautiful walk through the gardens, there is a ticket to enter and tickets separately for the rides. Various dining options inside. Shows at the pagoda. A candy maker shop, live view as he hand makes it. There was a light show on the lake and a ship on the other side( didn't see it until after we left the gate). Take time to study the park map they give you upon entering. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Wheelchair paths throughout.

Monica W — Google review

Great place. Have fun. Must visit if you are in Copenhagen. Tivoli Gardens is not just an amusem*nt park, but an absolutely great place to have fun and enjoy drinks and food. The rides here are amazing and then you have surprising events all the time. One of the best places to visit in Copenhagen.

The world's largest miniature railroad, Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany, is a fascinating place to visit with its many details and scenes from different parts of the world. The exhibits are carefully detailed and often include special effects such as fire trucks putting out fires or skiers descending the Swiss mountain.

Absolutely amazing! Good for both kids and adults to visit. The level of detail required to create these structures must have taken countless hours. You can take all the time you need here to admire the intricacies. After you gain entry, head up to the top floor and start your journey! You'll be able to experience both day and night scenes which will be simulated periodically. More cities are in development so definitely visit again next time.

Venula T — Google review

Fantastic mini land! The level of detail and small surprises everywhere is astounding! You could definitely spend a whole day and just discover new things. You can even have a look at their workshop where they paint and assemble everything.Be sure to buy tickets and book well in advance because it's a hot spot in Hamburg with many visitors.Well worth a visit.

Ingvar S — Google review

I had an unforgettable visit to Miniature Wunderland in Hamburg last weekend! This place offers a truly unique experience with meticulously detailed miniatures representing various cities worldwide, predominantly European ones. The highlight for me was the intricate train networks and the miniature airport with planes taking off and landing. It was a bit crowded, but the 20 euro adult ticket was worth every penny. The presence of miniature shops, a food court, and restroom facilities made the visit even more convenient. Miniature Wunderland is a must-see attraction for anyone in Hamburg!

Vikash K — Google review

This place is crazy amazing! The intricate details for each scene and the hidden "Easter eggs" (references to movies) are everywhere. It's awesome how the sets are interactive - one could spend a lot of time at the airport and the Formula 1 areas alone. The control center is appropriately staffed to address any problems in a timely manner. Definitely a must when in Hamburg Germany!?

Lisa K — Google review

This place is truly a marvel, even if you're not a model making fan.All the models are crafted with exceptional detail and they're full of buttons for the whole visiting experience to turn from passive to interactive at will.On the other side, the place feels very touristy, with souvenir shops packed with unrelated stuff, and a "restaurant" too. Too much people can ruin your experience, and a Saturday evening would not be the perfect day to be there.

Mattia — Google review

Such an extraordinary experience! I'm amazed 👏🏻. Every detail, every city, everything is just perfect. I was not expecting so much from this place and was absolutely positively surprised. Great job! Honestly, I think adults enjoy more than kids, as we can appreciate more the details... but it is a nice place for all ages. It is a must in Hamburg for sure! Better to buy the tickets in advance.

Renata V — Google review

Just wow !!! It's an amazing museum. So much to see and be amazed. We spent around 4 hours seeing all the models. The best was the airport and airplane model. It's wonderful place to get kids and even the old ones enjoy the museum. There are many different models. Buying tickets in advance is highly recommended. There is a restaurant as well in the museum. Breakfast and lunch options were good. I recommend booking tickets for the morning slot so that you have enough time to explore the whole museum.

Swati M — Google review

Spent 3,5 hours in the museum and planning to go again. Super interesting, there are many cute and funny episodes. At the evening there were very many people.Highly recommend to take a camera with good zoom.

Dmitrii B — Google review

Parking is very restrictive in this area so you are better parking away and walking to the place. The cafe served really nice food and all the staff were polite. The models themselves were very impressive especially with how they interlink. The railway control room is also very impressive.

Kurt H — Google review

Cost 20.50 for an adult ticket.A great place to spend a couple of hours. Be amazed by the displays. There is a simulation of day and night views of all the displays. The airport seems to be the most popular. I had a wonderful visit. There is a canteen within the museum. So one can rest and have a bite before continuing.

David T — Google review

Nice spot. It took us around 2 hours to see the whole thing. The cost is 20 euro per person, which is interesting to see but, in my opinion, not a must. We went on Sunday, and it was packed it was hard to get near to the expositions to look closely

Andrea C — Google review

The moment you enter in, you will be taken into a different world.Everything is taken minute care to represent the real world in miniatures. The people, moving restless trains of different types, the passengers inside the train, huge stadium and the spectators, Swiss alps, formula 1 track of Monaco, the busiest airport takeoffs and the sincere ground staff in vehicles, the urban apartments to country houses with cool parties, arenas of Rome……So lively….It will take day if you have time and minimum three hours to watch. It’s great that, they are coming up with new themes and expanding. It’s a kids world and every adult is a kid there.

Konamaneti R — Google review

I had high expectations.Thought the models would be larger. They are h0 scale, so 1:87The models and figures are mind blowing. The detailed models of structures and landscapes around the world are magnificent. By gazing at the tremendous level of detail one gets a true sense of the scale of human activity on earth. The scale and vastness of our environmental impact. One could spend all day there.Amazzzing.Will definitely go back.

Dorian H — Google review

Absolutely astonishing, there’s a million adjectives I could say about this place and I can’t seem to find a word for this masterpiece. The first sections were gorgeous the rooms are air-conditioned and that but also the details of every single man in the huge miniature model of Hamburg,Switzerland,Austria and the alps is living. I can visually guess that about 89 percent of all models is movable. Every aspect of the model including underground and above in the sky is shown in full detail. The posters for example are always made in local languages going with the theme. The most outstanding part for me was the airport (since I am a huge avgeek myself) the details as I can see is stringent to a almost horrible level. The airplanes are just so lively as if they were real. Almost every model plane can taxi by itself and a lot of them can even takeoff and land by them self even with features such as gear-tilt included. There’s also the airbus beluga, Junker 52, Boeing 777-300 ER etc.I would say that the this place is really really really worth your visit because you can feel the heart of the builders, you can feel that they build for the fun, not for the money! Please, if you every happened to read this. Go to Hamburg and visit this place. Bucket-list worthy!

Idk M — Google review

Every time I am in Hamburg I visit this place, and it never fails to impress me. There are always some new details I get go notice, or completely new set-ups to explore (like South America this time, Monaco is now work in progress). Make sure to buy the ticket in advance and there is almost no waiting time. Also, make sure to devote enough time, as you can easily spend here whole day! ✨

Aleksandra P — Google review

Great museum! We spent over 5 hours on our visit, and it felt short. The model trains, cars, boats, and airplanes are all fantastic, and the attention to detail is second to none. All the little easter eggs are fun to find! Highly recommend!

P G — Google review

It’s beautiful, it’s mesmerizing, you’d have to spend at least two full days there to discover most of the little details. I’ve been here at least 8 times, and I keep finding new things every single time. However, the place is always completely filled with people, no matter what day it is. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your tickets online at least one week before, to have a chance at getting in at a normal time. Unless of course you want to stand in a queue for 5 hours, not gonna judge that.

TheKingofTerrorZ — Google review

Amazing 🤩 has been on my bucket list for many many years, I did 2 back stage tours. In total I spent about 10 hours here! And I'm sure there were lots of little details I still didn't see. The food in the diner is very reasonably priced and is large servings!Overall very satisfied. This place is amazing.

Andrew T — Google review

Such an AMAZING place! They even had a control center. Was so mesmerized by the amount of detail they put in all the cities. The airport with all the planes taking off and everything else happening there made it feel like it was connected to a real airport. The historic dioramas were really interesting too - being able to see how things changed over time. Definitely had a great time here and will be back again next time.

Gareth W — Google review

We went here as a family and had a very enjoyable time. I recommend you schedule a whole day here. We spent 5 hours here. There are plenty of different countries on view including Germany,Italy, America and Switzerland. If you look closely there are many hidden jokes like the millennium falcon at the airport and Batman and Robin scaling one of the buildings. We also did the virtual reality part of the tour which was amazing. You can also have a 3D picture taken which you can have as a plastic figure. Loved it.

Stillapatmike — Google review

Super cool! you could spend the whole day here and still not have seen everything. The staff are very friendly and the bistro is a nice place to rest. You can tell a lot of hard work and creativity went into the design of all the exhibits and there are hidden gems everywhere, including trains running right below your feet!

J K — Google review

We started exploring at 8 a.m., and we were there until after 5 p.m!It's a totally different experience compared to anything else, and if you have a passion for details and digging into them, you're gonna love it!Suggestions for the best experience:1. Charged Phones2. Bottle of Water3. Eat good breakfast, so you're full for the day4. Wear comfortable shoes5. Bring some nuts with you so you don't have to waste for lunch6. Take your glasses if you have trouble seeing tint things in distance :)7. Patience and passion ❤️

Houman — Google review

Completely, totally and utterly brilliant in every way. Spent over 6 hours there and only saw one of the two main floors. Exceptionally good value. Excellent proper food in the bistro - lots of seats and sockets to recharge phones etc. Again, great value. All facilities excellent. The whole place is just superb - can't fault it in any way. Best to book ahead - and try to go as early as possible.

Simon R — Google review

They were tastefully done displays that were pleasing to all. I could spend hours here because of the incredibly lifelike figures and activities. Before returning to the exhibit, you can rest your feet and take a break at one of the restaurants. Strongly advised.

Rolan Y — Google review

This was our first time visiting Miniature wonderland, and it was fantastic.A little world in itself, we stayed almost a full day .we had a good lunch there.Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We are going back soon.

SHARON - — Google review

Great experience!! Wish we had known how big and nice it was, we would have given ourselves more time. We arrive 23:30, since those were the only tickets available. Pls book well in advance to get a better time! Even at 23:30 it was still amazing. Just wish we had more time, there was so much to see and do. They had buttons for many of the things where something would happen. Also the light changes in intervals from daylight to nighttime and some of the buttons only work in nighttime. Super cool! If ever we’re in Hamburg again, we would definitely go for either half a day or the whole day.

Hannah L — Google review

Fabulous place to visit! Image a warehouse FULL of train sets, over multiple floors and now add cars, trucks, planes, not only trains. Amazing! There’s a “night time” every 15 minutes or so where all the lights go down it looks stunning. The level of detail here is unreal, so many hours have gone into creating this. The gift shop is also very good, which is a nice change from most tourist attractions.

C J — Google review

A must see when in Hamburg, completely worth it.I recommend you buy tickets 2 days in advance to avoid the waiting queue which can be even 2h long.It was kind of crowded however we managed to go trough it all, make sure you grab a map at the entrance. They have a setup where it turns to "night time" and some of the exhibits look better during that short time window. The airport exhibit was my favorite so pay attention to the landing and take off screen if you are looking for a particular model to see it in action.Make sure to visit the souvenir shop before you exit as they always have discounts on models. The entire visit may take arround 3h, even more.

Emanuel F — Google review

Simply amazing! Was a fun experience. The amount of details is crazy. Also, the whole exhibition is interactive so you’ll get engaged as soon as you start your visit. I’d recommend getting the tickets beforehand because the place gets crowded. It has interesting exhibitions already but they’ll add more soon and I bet it’ll be just as great. You can easily spend 3 hours there. And you’ll enjoy it! They offer guided tours so you can see everything from a different perspective.

Alexa C — Google review

Miniature Wonderland is great, wide space with many miniatures - people, situations (like concerts), airplanes, trains, city, Hamburg areas and many others. For kids and adults. Amazing attention to details. Must see point during visiting Hamburg.

Natalia W — Google review

The place was quite huge and so detail! Great place to go for diorama fans & those with children, you could truly spend hours here. My family and I spent about 4 hours, including shopping time. The only flaw was it was charged €0.50 for cloakroom per item (we didn’t use this) and there were no info about the locker room which was free. But overall was enjoyable and could be considered when you plan to visit Hamburg.

Livia S — Google review

Incredible place with extremely detailed models. The are some awesome experiences there too, like shrink into wonderland were you where a VR headset and you can pretend your in the models. There is a cafeteria with decent food especially for a museum. The gift shop is quite nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend buying tickets in advance as buying at the museum can take awhile, it is conveniently located in the center of Hamburg. The airport and trains are just beautiful, if you took a zoomed in picture someone would have no idea it was a model. Even the hall between sections has some lovely miniature landscapes, and a great view.

Bodies of Water

Located on the Elbe River, Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city and its largest port. The harbor is home to four large container terminals and many smaller warehouses and ships berths. Cruise ships dock here for tours of the city's sights.

I took a boat tour of the Port of Hamburg and it was a fascinating experience. I saw giant cargo ships, observed the loading and unloading operations.Overall, I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in seeing the Port of Hamburg up close.

there was a festival at the day I arrived, so it was really crowded, full of people everywhere, but after that it was so peaceful there, the air was fresh and the water was clean, it was just so nice to sit there and enjoy the sunshine, both day and night views were so beautiful!! The Schnoor Quarter is a historically rich neighborhood located in the heart of Bremen, Germany. The narrow alleyways and century-old buildings are reminiscent of medieval times, and make for a picturesque outing. There are also several shops and cafes located here, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening.

An absolutely beautiful and old part of Bremen. The Schnoor is my favourite part of this city. Here you can see some very cute and narrow streets. In the area you can find, handcraft shops, coffee shops, andrestaurants. Bremen's oldest district is a must visit for anyone visiting Bremen.

Marina T — Google review

Really nice part of the city. Very old and well preserved. Most of the restaurants that we loved are here. There is a clock that is truly impressive

Lovely part of the old town, small, narrow cobbled streets lined with small cafés and shops. We went during winter, but we imagine it would of looked even better in the summer sunshine!

It’s a nice historical place where you can see the old German architecture from mediaeval period. Just keep your expectations are low before going there. It’s kinda small area.

G?khan K — Google review

This is a MUST visit. It is so cute and cozy. The little houses all in a row are so different. The little restaurants, cafes, art shops all lined along the narrow street is quite different and pretty

Clarissa A — Google review

A pleasant walk between small houses painted in colors and having some small ornaments, sculptures, statues in between. It's the details that make it interesting, but you should also dive in the small street leading from central square/Roland to the river. It also has interesting surprises.

Marin K — Google review

A place to dive into historic narrow streets of old Bremen. Tourist attraction, nice artisan shops, street musicians or some a bit quitter areas - anyone can find something just for his/her liking.

Vita B — Google review

Funny and colourful houses are around this little area, a few shops are selling kinda strange or funky stuffs, also you can find several cafes where you can sit and have a drink to relax.

Eddie L — Google review

You have to see it for yourself, photos only make it look quaint, being there in person makes you realize just how special it really is! It seems to always be busy except for between midnight and 7:00 a.m., there are always people walking and exploring, it's a special place!

Krall S — Google review

Super cute nieghborhood with medieval or for Harry Potter fans Hogsmead vibe 😊 While I was wandering the streets I felt like I time travelled to another century. The area definitely well preserved.I went there on the weekend. It was crowded and be mind that some streets are real narrow. But I can easily say that this is a must see place when you're visiting Bremen. For some Lucky moment I get to capture the streets empty, hope you like them 😊

Emre B — Google review

If you're in Bremen, this neighborhood is a must-visit. It's advisable to go during off-peak tourist hours to fully enjoy all its magic.

The best place to visit in Bremen, never miss itThe old city is amazing reminded me of my hometown. It was a warm visit regardless that weather was freezing

Hisham A — Google review

The time spent here was amazing. It was like I've travelled through time. The narrow cobblestone path and beautiful tiny buildings of medieval architecture makes this place the attraction of Bremen. It brings some kind of nostalgia. There are few Cafes, shops, interesting art galleries etc in this street, though a simple walk through here is more than enough.

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Cologne Cathedral is a huge, imposing building with a beautiful facade. It's also a popular tourist destination with guided tours and views of the Rhine.

Majestic, grand and all those similar adjectives. This is the main attraction in cologne and is worth it. The space around the cathedral is also relaxing. The insides of the cathedral is breathtaking. Also you can climb the tower which is also, literally, breathtaking, since there are 500 odd steps to climb. Visit as early as possible to avoid crowd. It is specially beautiful at night with all the lights, it looks surreal.

Pranesh D — Google review

The place outside the Cathedral is too crowded and noisy that it is less possible for us to breath. The place is so beautiful and inside of the cathedral is calm and quiet. The art works are extremely brilliant. It would be better to go during the day time especially when it is sunny, so that you can enjoy the colorful glass paintings inside the cathedral.

Neha N — Google review

The Cologne Cathedral is a magnificent architectural masterpiece that I had the pleasure of visiting. This Gothic-style cathedral, located in Cologne, Germany, is truly a sight to behold. With its towering spires reaching towards the heavens and intricate stained glass windows, it is no wonder the cathedral has garnered so much admiration and recognition. The interior of the cathedral is equally awe-inspiring. The high ceilings and ornate carvings that adorn the walls add to the sense of grandeur and historical significance that this beautiful building possesses. I was particularly captivated by the organ, which is a remarkable feat of engineering and craftsmanship. The atmosphere inside the cathedral is one of reverence and tranquility, allowing visitors to appreciate the art and spirituality that encompasses them. Exploring the Cologne Cathedral was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Erik — Google review

Very nice cathedral to visit. Free to enter, although the queues can get very long.Worth a visit - and when a place looks this nice, and is free, it deserves a 5-star rating.Check the opening times in advance. There is often maintenance taking place which can affect opening times

Jan N — Google review

One of the best architecture buildings I ever saw. Unique building in Cologne saved during World War 2. Absolutely beautiful. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany. Well maintained by the German government and donations. Excellent place to visit while you are in Cologne. Highly recommended.

Vladimiros K — Google review

One of the most mesmerizing pieces of architecture I’v seen in my life. The details, the size, the view, the history and the beauty are all immaculate.I came to cologne on a business trip and on my last day I decided to explore the city and it was the best decision ever and later I read about the cathedral and its history. You can go to the other side of the river to take some nice photos as well. Also note that if you want to get inside the cathedral you’ll have to go between 10:00 and 17:00 on weekdays. The love bridge is also near by which will give you a nice view of the cathedral and the river.

Snowy — Google review

Located in the heart of cologne, right next to the train station. This cathedral is so magical and the view is breathtaking. Would suggest early hours to avoid the crowd. Also there are some relaxing places outside the cathedral. Beautiful at night with lights on. This is also under one of the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Dinuka S — Google review

One of the biggest and the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever been to! You can easily go there by trains as it is located next to the train station. Inside the cathedral, there are many beautiful stained glass windows and I really liked the statues. No entry fee but there are a lot of visitors.

If you're in town, there's no way you should miss it. It's not just about the aesthetics of the church but the whole vibrant atmosphere around it. If you're into a bit of chaos, you'll enjoy various groups engaging in different activities, singing, protesting, and more. But if you get tired of the commotion, the tranquility of the Rhine River is just around the corner, along with great places to eat

Ashraf S — Google review

Amazing construction, the heart of Koln. It's the most visited attraction of Germany. You can visit it for free.If you want to go up in the tower you need to climb 533 stairs and pay 6 euros (adult). The view is wonderful.

Sorin I — Google review

Amazing Cathedral to see, right in the heart of Cologne. The view is tremendous from all sides on the outside - you'll have no issue spotting the tall spires, and as you close in you'll notice all the magnificent detail in the architecture. You can enter inside (check hours), however, you can't bring in any large bags; and be vigilant of any masses taking place.

Mat B — Google review

A remarkable work of architecture that is difficult to fully absorb without being in front of it. There are many details worth appreciating when standing close; but it’s when you step back that you can feel the immense scale of the work. Incredible - and a lot of fun to look at while visiting the Christmas market, if you are here in the winter.

D W — Google review

Free to get in, probably no surprise to many but this place is huge. Very tall, can’t miss it. Came for a day out. Very good fun, not much to do around the area tho. A lot of room inside to look about lots to look at

I highly recommend taking some time to visit "The Dom!" The architecture and craftsmanship that went into that structure are astounding. If you're up for it, climb The Dom and then let your legs rest inside as you take in all the beauty within. Buy the guidebook in the gift shop so you can read more about the artwork and specific features as you're taking it all in. It's a beautiful piece of history to behold.

Outstanding! Don't miss the opportunity to go to the top of the belfry (no elevator, might be very cold and windy depending on the season and weather). Free admission to the cathedral, 5€/person - entrance to the belltower. And there is a WC :)

LOVE U — Google review

Entrance to Cathedral is free. In front of is the line for security check only. Place is the highest and built with so many details you must visit and see. Inside is possible to light a candle and pray, there is enough space to get peace from tourists for a few minutes. Overall, amazing.

Marina B — Google review

Amazing and breathtaking, a true feat of human engineering. Free entry into cathedral proper, but small fee if you want to climb the tower (~500 steps) or explore the treasury. Main church has plenty to see and its easy to relax and enjoy the organ every so often. Mass is available quite frequently. Such a beautiful and impressive church! Definitely worth a trip to see!

It is one of the most visited destinations by tourists, as it is definitely impressive. I was totally fascinated by the architecture of this place.I loved the feeling of tranquility and security inside the cathedral. However, it is also quite imposing. What surprised me the most was the catacombs part.I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit this place.

Cologne Cathedral is beautiful, amazing building. It is 157 m tall and the world’s third largest Gothic-style cathedral with 10,000 square metres of windows and 20,000 visitors daily.A lot of people want to take a picture of it so always is crowded in front of cathedral, but it's worth it.

Cologne Cathedral and the Love Lock Bridge offer a perfect blend of awe-inspiring architecture and romantic charm in the heart of the city. A must-see for visitors looking to soak in Cologne's rich history and vibrant culture.I just put the photos of some unique locks! On the bridge. It just looks fancy!😅the way back we had a beautiful sunset.

What an impressive building it is! Beyond imagination. I was blown away and someone even played the organs. Thank you for that.I just do not understand why they decided to build a railway station and a two lane road by the cathedral.

Petr Š — Google review

Climbed to the top of the cathedral. One stair case for both up and down and over 500 steps on a narrow spiral staircase. Not for the unfit or people scared of tight spaces. However once at the top the views were amazing

The Cologne Cathedral, known as the Kölner Dom in German, is a magnificent Gothic cathedral located in Cologne, Germany. It is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Construction of the cathedral began in 1248 but was not completed until 1880, spanning over six centuries. The cathedral is renowned for its stunning architecture, intricate sculptures, and towering twin spires, which dominate the skyline of Cologne. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful stained glass windows, elaborate altars, and the Shrine of the Three Kings, said to contain the relics of the Biblical Magi. The Cologne Cathedral is not only a significant religious site but also a popular tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors each year with its grandeur and historical significance.

Beautiful cathedral.2nd tallest building in the world! A dream come true for me.Lighting is perfect, and lots of historical stuff inside too.The trip to Cologne is worth the time trust me!

We visited the cathedral during the week. Once out of the train station you see the cathedral just outside. Take the opportunity to cross the bridge to the other side of the river and go to the view point. For a small fee you have spectacular views of all the city.

This was the first cathedral we went to on our visit to Germany. As we came out of the DB station , the cologne cathedral standing in front looked heavenly... It was a sight which has remained with me till date, the beautiful architecture of the Cathedral along the hotel spaces with the rhine river bridge along it looked mesmerizing...The interior of the church looks beautiful. There is a provision to go till the top through stairs and it gives a birds eye view of Cologne city 🌆The cafes around are a cherry on top, just take a cup of a drink and enjoy the intricacies of the architectural beauty 😍

The scale of this place impresses me each time I visit. It's an incredible work of art and history. 300 years to build. It would be amazing if restorations were able to occur more quickly to remove more of the black from the exterior. It's truly amazing!

I visited Cologne for Christmas 2023 and it was a great experience. There were a lot of tourists, big crowds, and there was a Christmas bazaar around the cathedral. This cathedral is my second favorite place in Germany, so I highly recommend everyone to visit it. It's huge size cathedral, look so amazing by night

DarkO M — Google review

My life long dream came true last evening when I visited this good old Cathedral that survived heavy shelling during World War II. Place of biblical historical importance. Memorable Visit!

A beautiful Christmas market next to the cathedral with many stalls and the most beautiful mugs to drink your gluhwein out of. We went on a Sunday and there was a concert on so it was very busy. I bought a beautiful glass ornament for my Christmas tree back home in England.

The Cologne Chocolate Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of chocolate. The museum has permanent exhibitions on the history of chocolate from different parts of the world, and includes interactive exhibits for visitors to experience the taste and texture of different chocolates.

What an impressive show of industrial skill. I’ve been to chocolate museums before but this was on another level. It had partially operational industrial machinery demonstrating how chocolate is made now and in the past. Then on top of that it has several historical exhibits, a chocolate shop and a cafe. Nearly everything is in English. Quite the experience for a foreigner.

Aron S — Google review

You can buy tickets upon entry, no need for advance tickets unless you want. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the museum and learning the history of chocolate and how it’s made, processed, and used across the world and different cultures.Coolest part is seeing the chocolate actually made right in front of you through different steps. You even get to click a button that pops out the chocolate that was just cooled/made. Definitely worth the visit here in Cologne!

Art M — Google review

The place is great! A must visit tourist attraction in Cologne. The place is mostly crowded on the weekend and the getting a ticket there might become a big challenge. The place is located right at the heart of the city so it’s easily accessible but parking is a problem, the place doesn’t have its own parking, need to use nearby parking places and walk to the museum. The place has lot of history and future plans for chocolate industry, also the making of chocolate. A whole floor is dedicated for chocolate making and you can see how chocolate bars are made by looking at the working machines. There is also small chocolate outlet to get chocolates and souvenirs from the museum.

Ajay M — Google review

Went 2024 11 May. 17 Euro. 3:30 PM. If I had a group it would be cheaper. And I stood in a.line to purchase my tickets and saw my coworker purchase his tickets online while in line. By that time, I was 3 away from the counter. I should have gotten them online because those 3 people in front of me took another 15 minutes. In either case, it is a place worthy of checking off the to-do list in Cologne and bringing friends to explore despite the inability for them to respond cordially to constructive criticism.

Zaldy ! — Google review

I would not say that this is a must visit on your trip to Cologne. Also with entry ticket at at EUR 14 per adult, the place is a bit expensive. We went to the place as a family with our four year old son. The place gives information on chocolate processing, and one can find live chocolate production happening at the place. You can taste the freshly made chocolate, if you buy tickets to the museum. Overall the place is OK, If you are on a leisurely trip to Cologne, you may visit the place.

NEERAJ J — Google review

Nice place to have an idea about how the 'Lindt' chocolates are made. Very nice place to take children for their level of excitement.Especially nice to see the different types of process throw which chocolates are made. It's one of a kind experience. Not to forget and miss the free sample tasting of chocolate wafers provided.Wheelchair accessible entrance is available. Exciting information about chocolates are available.

Sharon D — Google review

The museum is not so big and the whole tour takes about 1-1,5 h. It's good to come in the morning as it isn't crowded. To avoid waiting in the line, I would recommend buying the tickets earlier via the website. In the museum you can see a lot of information about each step of chocolate production. Actually you will get an answer to all kinds of questions about chocolate. Inside there is a small production line which is very interesting. In the end, you may taste a fresh piece of chocolate or try something sweet from the chocolate fountain. This is definitely a place worth visiting however the price of the ticket could be a bit lower.

zaqwer93 — Google review

It was one of my super nice experiences. The museum gives us all the details of the chocolate 🍫, the history of the owner, and where the farms of the company are.You can bay also pay one Euro to planting one coco tree 🌳

Rana I — Google review

A beautiful and charming museum. Gives you a nice background about the chocolate making, manufacturing and distribution process. You also get free chocolates! You can also get a chocolate from freshly prepared chocolate. If you want you can also make your own customized chocolate bar. It takes almost 2-3 hrs to roam around the museum. Do not forget to get chocolates from the shop below😄.

Divyanshu S — Google review

Really sweet experience! They give some free Lindt chocolate when you enter, good for some sugar rush as you explore the museum. You can try some free chocolates at various chocolate stations. You get to see the process of making chocolate and you’ll also see some robotic machinery they use now.If you come in after 5pm, they have a ticket sale, since they close at 6pm. The chocolates in the store are also priced well.

Abigail C — Google review

Really interesting factory museum. I thought they did a nice job including a wide array of interests/considerations to include some relating to fair trade and global warming concerns in the chocolate industry. Lots to look at, you could spend half a day here for sure. Loved the shop, plenty to buy there. One of the coolest things was that you have the opportunity to have a custom chocolate bar made right in front of you!

Crystal F — Google review

Fun for the entire family. I think particularly those with children would do themselves a disservice by not going to this place. But even those who would perhaps have a grey hair more than they would like are still going to find something fun and educational in the visit. The tour is well laid out and you get great views of the city . Its a well spent time in Cologne.

Ruben W — Google review

This is an amazing place to be. Although there was a huge crowd both in and outside the museum you’ll love it there. So detailed illustration of how chocolate is made. You’ll also get small gifts both when going in, inside and when going outside. It’s a lovely experience

Queen A — Google review

I love chocolate, especially lindt! Complimentary chocolate on arrival was happily received, then an interesting history of cocoa until the best part, the chocolate fountain and factory section. Samples of the liquid chocolate are handed out, I could've stayed in that section the whole time! I wasn't too bothered about the rest of the museum other than the complimentary chocolates upon leaving. The shop had an amazing selection too. Busy on weekends

zbusurprise — Google review

Definitely worth to visit when you’re in Cologne. The museum is full of story and supply chain science of our daily chocolates! 🍫 buy ticket online and skip the waiting lines and come as early as possible, game changer!

Iqbal I — Google review

We spent an entire afternoon Inside the museum as it was pouring outside and we wanted to spend our time indoor. It's a well maintained museum showcasing the journey from cocoa beans to chocolate journey. They have many interactive screens to keep children occupied and provide free samples for tasting. They also have a Cafe overlooking the river serving delicious chocolate dishes. But I would say there are just 1 or 2 vegetarian savory options. Also there is a whole floor of artifacts collected across the glove which I did not understand what it was doing in a chocolate museum. And also the chocolate fountain is just a fondue station, nothing like the Switzerland one. So overall, a good way to kill time if you have nothing else to do but not a mandatory stop for sure!

Poulami C — Google review

We visited the Lindt chocolate Museum recently. We were thrilled to attend the fine tasting session. The narrator gave us an complete overview of the chocolate processing and we had an opportunity to taste some of the products during the process like from the coco beans, coco butter to final stage of finished chocolate.Highly recommend to get an online booking specially during weekend. We saw really huge line on Saturday luckily we had our session booked. Good for kids.

Maya S — Google review

Very informative museum, plus free samples! Easy to get tickets as they were issued in 15minute increments. Loved the history and the ways so many countries contribute to chocolate manufacturing. Plus great to see chocolate making in action!! Cafe was a nice atmosphere after wandering; crepes were divine!!

Sarah S — Google review

Buy tickets in advance online. Go early, when the museum opens to avoid the crowds. I enjoyed that they showed the entire journey of a chocolate bar. Even showing things like shipping and market share of different brands. Even though I was there on a Sunday there were lots of staff in the chocolate factory showing off their craft which was great to see. The museum also had a history part, detailing things such as chocolate during the wars. So in summary, the museum really has a bit of everything and of course the opportunity to taste the chocolate. I would recommend a visit if in Cologne. Also, if you are there during December the Christmas market in front of the museum was one of the less crowded markets.

Jen J — Google review

Reasonably priced and really enjoyable for people of all ages. Explains where the raw ingredients come from, transport, production (the smell is superb), marketing and sustainability to name a few. Free chocolate along the way including the chocolate fountain, and be sure not to miss the cafe afterwards, the staff everywhere were nice but my server in the cafe in particular was great. Gift shop not silly money either for the quality you’re buying. A must visit!!!

Lee H — Google review

Visiting this museum was one of the best decisions I made when I was in Cologne, Germany.During the tour there are different exhibitions that explain everything from the origin of chocolate, to the way it is processed and obtained, as well as its commercial distribution. The tour is very entertaining, and the best thing is that they give free chocolate samples. Although the price could be considered somewhat high, I think it is totally worth it.

Janik T — Google review

Pretty special museum if you are really into chocolate, infographics, and more chocolate :)Try to avoid visiting during weekends for a less crowded experience, and buy your ticket online to avoid waiting on the queue in the entranceThe museum has nice areas to visit, a cafe and a chocolate store. There is even a roof you can access from outside with a beautiful view

Humam ( — Google review

It is a well designed museum with a lot happening there. As many others recommended, buy your ticket well in advance and if you're interested in a tour (I highly recommend one) buy it way way in advance.I booked the short course (30 min) that gave an overview of different stages of production with tasting (Yes! we tried a bean!). It was worth the extra 2.5 EUR for sure and was not too long. There's a green house with chocolate and banana trees that have fruits!I recommend going there if you're in Köln. Definitely one of the best things to do there.

Mohammadamin T — Google review

Super cool. You get to see where chocolate started and all of the processes to make it. There are samples from the chocolate made right in front of you, and you even have an opportunity to have your own chocolate bar made with different toppings. The chocolate tastes better than what is sold in the stores. So delicious and so fun! Use the QR code to purchase tickets. Waiting in line takes a lot longer.

Robyn E — Google review

Good museum showing some of the history of the cacau bean from the Mesoamerica civilizations all the way to present day.The location is nice right next to the river Rhine where there’s an indoor and outdoor cafe serving delicious chocolate infused drinks and pastries and a ferries wheel for a nice view of its surroundings. The chocolate store inside the museum of course got a lot of options for you to take home. One may definitely spend a whole day exploring that whole area

Globe T — Google review

That was a nice place to visit when you are in Cologne. Seeing A cocoa tree is interesting and a bunch of interesting information. My only complaint was the people assigned who are helping/ordering the queue. They were rude even on a plain simple question...

Orcun I — Google review

The Lindt Chocolate Company is truly the real world Willy Wonka chocolate factory! The museum itself is just OK but to see the effort and technique that the lint company uses to make their very delicious chocolates is extraordinary. I was a surprised that the souvenir chocolates were so reasonably priced. They do have some very expensive chocolates but if you do a little hunting, you can find the cool inexpensive one of a kind souvenir chocolates. I was able to create souvenir custom chocolate bars for my family and friends while I was on the tour. It takes about an hour to create the chocolate bars so you need to run up to the top floor as soon as possible and fill out the form and pay for it at the cashier so you don’t have to wait too long after you finish the museum tour to get your chocolate bars. It’s not obvious so most people miss it.

Non-profit organization

The Anne Frank House is a popular museum in Amsterdam that provides visitors with a glimpse into the lives of Anne Frank and her family during World War II. Located on Prinsengracht, the museum showcases the tiny secret annex where they hid for two years to avoid deportation by the Nazis. While it is not wheelchair accessible due to a steep staircase, visitors can explore the old part of the house and learn about Amsterdam's history during this troubled period.

The museum takes you through an audio tour of the house where the Frank family lived for two years and Ann wrote her diary. Definitely book online in advance. The cloakroom is free so Definitely put your coat and bags in as the staircases are steep and narrow. The electronic audio guide is free and in eight different languages. A must visit in Amsterdam.

It was a moving place but couldn't help feeling it was more about just collecting money. Its a "do once" experience in my opinion. No photos allowed inside.Make sure you book in advance as you can only get in if you book. And dont forget your identification that matches what you bought the ticket with otherwise you will be refused entry.

(Translated by Google)In the sense of knowing the history of war, it is a place I would like you to visit by all means, and you can broaden your knowledge. An audio guide is included in the ticket price. When I went inside, they handed me something in my own language, so I was also impressed by that. Even those who are unfamiliar with English can feel at ease. Each entry time is well separated, so rather than freely looking at the places you like, each room is small, so it felt like everyone was going to see it. It takes about an hour.Due to its popularity, advance ticket purchase is essential. If you have already decided on a date to go, it is better to take it early. Many people were turned down that day.

This place was great. I just wish we could have taken pictures. It was a place of very high security everywhere. Very touching, inspiring, amazing, gut wrenching. Had goosebumps going through some of the displays. The museum was very well planned out and impressive. It took us about an hour and a half. You will need to book tickets well ahead of your trip to be able to get in.

As one would expect it was a very emotional experience, haunting but the museum have beautifully done tribute to Anne, her family and friends that lived thier last years in the annex and as sad as it is everyone who gets the opportunity to should experience going, as hearing Anne's story is so so very important.

What an incredible story of survival. The words of a young girl who carried the world. I’m not going post the exhibit photos. It wouldn’t be fathomable to tell here. After the tour, there is a full coffee bar and book shop. For a child who longed for the sun and window with a view. This inclusive audio tour finishes in a wonderful view on the city.I checked two carry on sized bags at not cost, but they are subject to security check. Staff was very professional and multilingual. Please plan your tickets in advance to this unique exhibit. Then make your way the Spinoza statue, the Jewish Ghetto , and the Theater to learn about the human experiences of the Holocaust. Please don’t be alarmed by the extra security around the building. The rise of antisemitism is ever present. Be mindful and vigilant.

Anne Franks House is a great place to visit if you are a fan of history or have read the Anne Frank Story. It is very sad place to visit, there is a lot of stairs to walk up and it is very steep going up to Anne franks home at the top, just something to keep in mind but it’s definitely worth it. The staff are great and very helpful.

Absolutely excellent. It’s rare for me to read so many of the info signs in a museum and I really took my time. The audio and written prompts were the perfect mix for me to immerse myself and learn so much. Bought a book and poster as I left. A must see in Amsterdam!

Really well-curated and well-maintained museum that tugs at your heartstrings while also being extremely educational. There's an audio guide provided, which really helps to immerse you in the history of the place. Definitely a must-visit when you're in Amsterdam and worth booking well in advance, especially during peak seasons. We went in February so tickets were not as in-demand, and we were able to get tickets within a week before going.

Neha T — Google review

It was very difficult to get tickets for the museum tour plus the introductory program but so well worth it! Having the context of the life of Anne Frank added to the overall experience. This place is so well done. It is respectful to the memory of what happened here. Take time to really think about the actions of what took place in this very spot. It will hopefully help you gain a new perspective on the grave horrors and the unimaginable kindness of humanity.

Chris H — Google review

We were so fortunate to be successful in purchasing tickets via the Anne Frank Website in order to be able to visit this museum. We paid for an English Speaking Introduction prior to the tour, which enabled us to take a few limited photos prior to entering the museum itself. The tour is very humbling, and brings home the horrific circ*mstances faced by the Jews during the War.There is an audio guide included in the price, in multiple languages, you scan it at various locations as you proceed through Anne Franks House. The attention to detail is phenomenal, this has been on my list of places to visit for many years, and I can only say it's worth every penny and effort to secure tickets. Photos and filming are prohibited, which helps preserve the museum in its original state, you also focus all your attention on the experience. The cafe is reasonably priced, and very much needed after absorbing all the information regarding how 8 people had to live in secret in order to avoid capture.Heartbreakingly, they were discovered and were put on the last train to the concentration camps! It wrenches at your heart. The shop has a selection of quality items including copies of her diary, a diary which should be read, even if it's the only Diary you read.

Ze N — Google review

Everyone has heard of Anne Frank, so this review focuses on the practicalities.Tickets have to be purchased in advance and are only available from the official website. Tickets are released every Tuesday at 10am UK time six weeks in advance. They offer a 30min introduction which we purchased and felt was worthwhile to set everything in context for the other people in our group. You then get taken downstairs to the main entrance where you collect your audio guide. Point the device at the numbers in the rooms to hear the audio.Be warned! Lots of steps when you get into parts of the original house. No spoilers as far as the house is concerned but it's well worth the visit. We felt numbers were controlled well even though a few rooms got a little congested. There is a cafe on site with lovely views over the canal.

Alison C — Google review

Better to buy the tickets in advance (ideally weeks, months before) it's quite crowded and you are not allowed to take photos inside. You also gave >A4 size bags free of charge at the cloakroom. If you read her book/ diary "the secret annex" and know her, it definitely worth the visit. Even you don't know, would be nice to see how the world changes and the history with dictatorship. Also how the lives of innocent people can drastically change and end with a decision. I like that they didn't only showed Anne Frank's story but also the family, helpers, the politics at that time, photos and video recordings. It took us exactly 2 hours because we didn't want to miss any detail. If you have problems with walking, it might be difficult to visit this place due to narrow stairs and lots of walking.

Yasemin K — Google review

Make sure to get your tickets before your trip. We got ours about 5 weeks before our visit. If you go, get tickets with the introduction lecture. It is about 40 minutes and is well worth the time.

Steve S — Google review

The 30 min introduction tour is a must have for any Anne Frank fan. Our guide was great at explaining all the information! It gives a look at her life that makes the actual tour so much more engaging and meaningful. No photos are allowed inside the actual house but the audio guide gives enough information. I wish they posted the guide numbers in a better position as sometimes people would gather around it making it difficult to get too.Overall, it was sobering to walk through the house, seeing it with my own eyes after reading about it.

Stefan — Google review

It's definitely worth visiting if you are able to. If tickets are sold out, keep trying up until you visit the City at different times. I was luckily able to grab some tickets when more were released a week before my visit.

Excellent administration, clock room for coats/jackets, and bags. Team inside and outside organised well with smiles to all. Those who like to know about history must visit, really well done by sharing personalised items, Anne place, hiding room, the famous bookshelf, all original. Loads of video clips and so much more to look if you are interested. Those who know the history will be really emotional ride for them.Shops inside to buy related things, a cafe available for cold and hot drinks and bit food and snacks available. Two toilets, but they are both gender neutral.

Such an emotional and moving tour. It was a special experience to be able to listen to the audios of the Frank family and friends who aided them in the resistance and who helped protect them.Audio Guide:During the tour, you are guided through the Anne Frank house with the help of the audio speaker, which is in multiple languages. You simply use the speaker to listen and place it next to the audio number in each room. The. it will start playing. It recites quotes and stories recited from Anne Frank’s diary and from other people who were involved in this situation. It was compelling and so sad. I couldn’t help but tear up when hearing the actrice who recited Anne Frank’s stories. Such an important part of history to recognize and remember.Gift Shop:There’s a gift shop nearby which has notebooks, Anne Frank books, bookmarks, and more.Tickets:I would recommend you to buy these tickets months in advance. My friends and I somehow found tickets due to an opening but they were sold out even a month before.

Visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam was a deeply moving experience. The museum provides a poignant insight into the life of Anne Frank and her family during a tumultuous period. The preserved rooms and artifacts create a powerful connection to history. The audio guide enhances the understanding of the exhibits, and the atmosphere within the house is one of somber reflection. A must-visit for anyone interested in understanding the impact of World War II on individuals and the resilience of the human spirit.

Master J — Google review

A good audio tour that was easy to follow and was interesting to hear some first-hand accounts from Anne Franks father and other family friends as well as see the actual secret including original ladder & countertop. Gave a real idea of what I’d read about and cool to see her actual diary pages as well. They estimate tour takes about an hour and that was spot on - we went through all the audio tour stops and saw/read the various exhibits and were done in exactly an hour. Easy to follow and everyone directed clearly on next place to go etc. Be prepared to climb some very steep stairs.

Marissa M — Google review

Deeply moving. So amazing to see where the Frank family hid and view Anne's diaries. The briefing ahead of time was well worth it! Must book as soon as the dates open online to get a spot. No photos in the museum, but they are allowed in the briefing ahead of time.

📔📔📔📔 IMMERSIVE AND INTERESTING.A visit to the Anne frank house was such an eye opening experience and really is worth your time.We spent hours here just reading everything and appreciating the events that transpired in the last century. It is worth the money if you have the time to visit whenever you are in Amsterdam. We highly recommend buying tickets in advance as they quickly sell out- the tour is even more worth it if you have some spare change. We decided to do it as we needed the background/context for Anne frank.

Kenneth L — Google review

Buy your tickets in advance, online. They sell out fast. It's definitely worth seeing and paying your respects. You get to walk all throughout the building, behind the bookshelf that hid Anne Frank and her family. They offer an audio tour at your own pace.

Kyle — Google review

This is more memorial than a museum. Very few belongings of Anna Frank were spared, so in the museum you mostly see the rooms where it all happened, plus the famous diary. It is highly recommended to read Anna's diary prior to visit; being more informed, you can better "feel" the place. The photography is not allowed inside (which is quite unusual for Dutch museum). It is very important to buy tickets well in advance on their website (I mean, months in advance): the museum is extremely popular and quite small, so all tickets are gone very quickly and there is essentially zero chance to buy them on the day of the visit.

Dmitry — Google review

What an incredible & emotional journey you go through visiting this museum. We visited Amsterdam for the day & this was the only thing we really wanted to do. Visiting in Jan was perfect as we did not pre-purchase tickets at all (which typically you have to do) & It was not busy, so you could actually absorb the intensity of the museum & not feel rushed or crowded. We arrived at 1830 & had tickets for the 1900 entrance time & we purchased at that moment online. (All purchases are online only) If you know when you will be there, definitely purchase in advance but if you're not sure & you are visiting during the off season, then you can purchase when you get around that area.Definitely take your time walking around & make this a 'must do' if you find yourself in Amsterdam. You will not regret it. Then, go around the corner to visit the statue of Anne Frank, as seen in these photos.

A sombre reminder of what we are capable of inflicting on others. It is a close and intimate tour of Otto Frank's business that hid the Annex where Anne Frank and her family lived for 2 years. A must see in Amsterdam. Tickets go on sale 6 weeks ahead of time, however there are some released the week before your planned visit. (No pictures allowed, hence only a few)

History museum

One of Amsterdam's most popular attractions, the Rijksmuseum houses a vast collection of European art. With over 8000 masterpieces on display, it is an amazing place to explore. The building itself is stunning and dominates Museum Square, making it one of the most famous museums in the Netherlands. It is well worth the visit for anyone interested in art!

Can’t find any word to describe this museum.Check the website in advance to get the ticket because you also need to select time slot to enter the museum. Not sure if you want to see everything in one day because this amazing museum has a lot of collections. But if you do, better come early.

MaJuRo R — Google review

Coming from the U.S. we don't have as much art as in Europe. This experience was fantastic. In a solo trip I was able to walk through the entire museum. One day is not enough. I love Dutch and Flemish art. They have highly skilled artists (more than the German, the British, the Spanish, and even in my opinion also better than the French and the Italians. I'd love to visit again and slowly melt away in the beauty of Dutch Art.

This museum is so impressive in so many ways. It is beautifully designed. There’s so much to learn and see. Every single room is amazing and unique, packed with an incredible collection of Dutch history and art. You could spend a whole day inside. Be sure to buy tickets in advance.

オススメは2階のメインどころから見るのが良いかと思います!(Translated by Google)It was really great.Perhaps because it was first thing in the morning on Monday, I was able to take a closer look at each one without any crowds. In addition, each work was large, and there was ample space between adjacent works, so it was easy to see popular works. On this day, Rembrandt's "Night Watch" was under restoration, but it was rare because it was open to the public. If you install the app, you can listen to the main explanation. It was a good deal and I was happy about that.I think that it is better to see it from the main place on the second floor!

MA — Google review

One of my favorite museums in Europe. The app made it enjoyable and seeing how well it was out together, we saw the history of the Dutch, their art, and their golden age. Fantastic museum and easy to get into.Make sure to make reservations in advance to find a spot. It was easy to navigate and the diverse exhibits made the museum fun and interesting.

Absolutely the best and a must visit museum in Amsterdam. Some of the world's most famous paintings are housed here. You can also see huge collection from, Masters lake Van Gogh Rembrandt, etc. Whether you are an art enthusiast or a student of art, You should not miss this museum. There is also a very comprehensive library inside.

Michael P — Google review

Take the full day here. It has so much stuff and so many rooms. We did the special exhibit and effectively one floor and it took us about 3 hours, and it wasn't like we were just taking our time. Take the day. Don't rush. Enjoy yourself.

Alexa H — Google review

Great display of impressive paintings, everything is neat and tidy, and has a decently stocked shop. It’s easily accessible from almost everywhere in Amsterdam. The main drawbacks: the security people at the entrance were super rude, snappy, and not helping at all; most people were entering the museum already frowning; the layout/navigation: there’s a noticeable lack of basic information on where to go, where you are, etc.

Hugo K — Google review

A big museum with lots to see, of course masterpieces by Rembrandt, Claude Monet, Vermeer and many more are extremely popular. We did not purchase the tickets in advance to visit on Sunday. All of the museum rooms were properly air-conditioned which was a great plus. The museum staff was friendly and approachable. Personally I was lacking clear museum navigation on where to go and what to look for…I could not even move to any direction because there were so many objects displayed that it was not intuitively obvious. Apart from this, of course it is a great museum to visit!

Tatyana B — Google review

Fantastic museum, if you are a museum geek and wanna see everything one day is not sufficient trust me , on top of that they have awesome cafe (really yum items to try on). I hear they have restaurant too inside which was closed due to covid precautions.Museum also has app where u can hear about the museum items instead standing a reading there. They have got lockers & hanger room all free of cost.

Soniya B — Google review

Wow! I needed lots and lots of time to go through this amazing art museum!! I recommend getting tickets on line. Lots of greats are on display! So many great works that I need to go back and spend another day! Great audio tour! Bring your headphones so you can listen in on your personal phone!

Elizabeth H — Google review

Absolutely loved it. Tickets were easy to order with QR codes at the door, the tour was also easily accessible via a QR code that downloaded an app. I would recommend bringing your own headphones/earphones to listen to the tour (else you would have to rent a headset and audio guide). All artwork was properly honored and given spotlight to.

Orca._. — Google review

Great museum, easy to reach and some very interesting displays.Beautiful building worth the trip just to see the facade. The building is beautiful also with a nice garden in the back. The gift shop and restaurant are also excellent. You can skip the cost for the audio guide since it is also available from a free appI don't think the great art needs any additional reviews but the collection is certainly impressive.Book your ticket online and would recommend going first thing in the morning. It gets quite crowded as the day goes on. Plan a minimum of two hours but you could easily spend four there.

TARAK D — Google review

We got there early on a Saturday and it felt like great timing. The museum is large and is a long activity if you want to get through everything. The space is absolutely gorgeous and I think they are some of the best at lighting the works. Everywhere felt perfectly lit and the frames and paintings all jumped off the walls at you. Totally clean and stunning. The gift shop was nice as well. I wish the gift shop had more stickers.

Shane — Google review

A museum worth the visit! Please take note that you must pre-purchase your ticket online. It goes by time slot and availability. Please ensure you secure your booking before making your way there. There are thousands of art pieces including paintings, articles, etc. You can easily spend more than two hours at the museum just browsing through every level.

Pimnara K — Google review

Always enjoy this museum; impressive, well organized and friendly staff. This time we visited the really great Frans Hals exhibition and did a quick tour in the special collections department. No way you can everything in the museum in one day!

Paul O — Google review

My family and I had an amazing visit! I strongly recommend booking tickets ahead of time directly from the museum website. Book the first 0900 opening tickets. You get a little time in the museum where it is not as crowded. If going to a special exhibit (like Frans Hals), book your entry time the same as your entrance. It will save you time by going straight to the special exhibit. The Frans Hal exhibit is not far from the entrance. The cafe was nice and easy. It looked busy but we were able to be seated quickly. You can pick to order and pay through the app. The cafe was welcomed after being on your feet most of the time. We saw most of the museum in under 3 hours including time in the cafe but we did not dwell too long in once place. The museum is art and a lot of historical items too! Something for everyone.

Benjamin — Google review

Amazing place and really nice, helpful staff, would recommend spending the entire day here however as it's massive!Best place for Art! And you can drop your coats and back packs off at reception for free

Shaun — Google review

Probably the best museum in Amsterdam. Clearly the most famous paintings are in the gallery of honor, but we saw lots of other interesting works. There are audio guides that allow you to do just the highlights or to type in a number in front of a picture. We spent about three hours here and could have spent more. Definitely recommend.

Jim C — Google review

An exceptional museum.Tram 5 best for usWell laid out easy to navigate.Cheaper to download app book on line and choose a time slot.No great wait to enter. Two issues to be to be aware of their painting The Night Watch is undergoing restoration and is partly obscured by equipment monitoring vibration. Essential I know but lessens impact of the paintingSecondly if you need lift to access the floors there are only two and there can be a queue.Cafe/restaurant is very nice limited vegetarian menu but is okay.10% off in the gift shop when you have downloaded their app.But a must when you visit.

Sjb H — Google review

Truly magnificent art on display. A great museum experience for all ages combing art and Dutch history. We visited with children and they lived both the main art exhibitions as well as the children's activities. One minor issue is the food available, its expensive and not very varied, considering that people spend a whole day here, more family friendly food options would be welcome. All in all a must visit if you are in the area, a truly memorable experience.

Raymond Z — Google review

Mind blowing experience. It was one of the finest museums I've ever been to. It's such a superb collection of art. Paintings, porcelain, statues, and many other kinds. It is well laid out, with each section coming from a specific time period. It's heavy on the religious art, but that's to be expected. I was here for 3 hours, and I couldn't take it all in. A full day is needed.Lockers are hard to get as they fill quickly, so better to use the cloakroom. The cafe & restaurant are always full, so good luck getting a seat. The building is absolutely stunning and easy to find. The Van Gogh museum is nearby.I suggest booking your tickets online to save double queues.

Joe M — Google review

This is a great place to come see historical objects and art work. Plan to spend several hours here as the collection is expansive. Recommend buying your tickets in advance. Easy to get to off the team.

A number of special works. The contemporary art department (in the attic) is nothing, but the rest is great. So much so that for a moment it was no longer really worth watching. The cloakroom was busy, especially when picking up the coat/bag. Only later did I see that there are also lockers and coat racks, so it could have hung there instead of in the "guarded cloakroom"

One of the coolest and most beautiful museums I’ve been seen. The outside is truly majestic and beautiful, but the inside left me speechless. The inside of the museum is breathtaking. I really recommend visiting this museums if you ever go to Amsterdam. It’s completely worth a trip.

Sergio M — Google review

Fun sized museum that you can get through in less than four hours. The special exhibit was educational and they had descriptions on all of the trinkets. The first floor is split in half so you can only access the other half by going up or down a floor. The ship models are very intricate and gave me admiration on the hard work involved. The night watch exhibit was spectacular to see as well, spanning an entire museum wall!

Calvin L — Google review

We booked a tour of the museum's highlights and it was fantastic. It seems essential to explore with a guide, even an audio guide if a scheduled tour isn't available. We booked directly through the museum's official website and arrived 10 minutes early at the meeting point as the tour starts on time. "The Night Watch" by Rembrandt was a standout, along with three Van Gogh paintings. Highly recommended if you're in Amsterdam.

Alan P — Google review

Had a great time at this museum. I like the free lockers (if you can get one as it’s usually pretty packed) to leave all of your bulky items behind so you can wander through the museum unencumbered. I was mostly fascinated by all the paintings and sculptures. The dishware was just too beautiful not to take a picture. Spent at least 2 hours in here, definitely worth it to go if you get a chance.

MissBellaTracey — Google review

A must see in Amsterdam for the art enthusiasts. An online booking is mandatory and you have to arrive at a specified time but once inside you can visit freely. The museum itself is very big and a full day is necessary to visit all the galleries and exhibitions.Do take a floor-map at the reception to not get lost in there -the different rooms are not always clearly indicated! The cafe inside also offers a few dishes that remain fairly accessible given the location and make for a nice 4pm pause in between the visit.

Richet C — Google review

-Nice museum with amazing paintings. Go to the top floor: library view and stunning colors glass windows.-Long queue even on Monday, rainy day staying in the museum, nice choice!!-Picking the map at the ground floor.-Clean toilet

Easy to reach by tram or canal. Old Masters paintings mostly, with ceramics and other fine arts. They have some of the most famous works. Good cafe and other facilities. Lovely gardens. Allow two hours and easy admission if you pre-book online

Doug N — Google review

I had repurchased tickets for the museum, but our flight was delayed and were late. I didn’t expect them to help us, but they let us in with no issue. The building and art on display was absolutely lovely! We were so pleased. If I return, I’ll try to go on a less busy day.

Shyla T — Google review

Classic! Plan to spend 2-4 hours depending on how much you want to spend scrolling through the items, reviewing them in depth. They have detailed placards for a good number of exhibits highlighting the origin and key things to notice. Night Watch by Rembrandt is of course the main highlight!! Lots to learn, observe and appreciate.

Pragyansmita N — Google review

Lovely museum. Took the one hour guided tour which went by quickly. Do wish they had a longer version.Definitely confusion as to where to enter the museum. Asked a staffer and entered the queue. After a bit, another person came by and had us exit the queue as we weren't part of the group. The museum had a very large elevator, which was helpful for people with wheeled devices. Outside has some lovely flowers.

Stayed nearby in April 2024 this year and was marvelled by the architecture of the Rijksmuseum. On first sight it looks like a castle. It's very majestic ✨️ and regal even if it is a museum.Unfortunately during my short break, I didn't have enough time to visit and go inside the museum but would love to come back one day and do that. The garden was wonderful. The tulips 🌷 were in full bloom and a splendid array of colour. The water fountain ⛲️ is a fun feature. I had a good time taking lots of pictures. The Arches to pass through are a amazing feat of architecture. What a beautiful place. For anyone visiting, even if you don't have time to go inside the museum, take in the exterior architecture of the Rijksmuseum and garden. Very beautiful place.

Joanna F — Google review

First, the building is really beautiful. Add to that, the art inside is amazing and diverse. Sure, they have Van Gogh and Rembrandt, but they have prayer nuts that will blow your mind and a library that is an architectural work of art.If you buy a year's membership, you don't have to worry about timed entry and I think museums live this deserve our support.

Mary D — Google review

The museum is for sure impressive if you are into art. For me the building itself was very interesting to visit as it’s really large. But a lot of the paintings there look pretty much the same (sorry art fans). So you should decide on your own if the entrance fee is worth it. You can for sure spend hours in there as it’s really huge and spread across different floors

This way you can just pop into a museum during a wasted hour... However, I discovered that nowadays you first have to check whether a museum has a time slot. At the entrance I was asked to first find out online when I could enter the building. That turned out to be 45 minutes later. Once inside, I wanted to go to the temporary exhibition, but there too I was asked to reserve a time at the entrance. Never mind, I thought. Then I'll take another look at the works of the other old masters. Before the renovation of the Rijksmuseum, you would already bump into the Night Watch at the entrance. This time, however, I couldn't find it so quickly. Some time later I came to the conclusion that nowadays you cannot know where what is without a map of the museum and that to view the Night Watch you have to cross the atrium and go to the 2nd floor. There it was, the Night Watch. In a glass cube. Despite the time slot, there were crowds of people standing around the cube, making it a challenge to even see the painting, so I quickly ignored the Night Watch. The rest of the visit went well. Credit. Because the museum houses an enormous amount of treasures, all of which are worth seeing. You should spend not an hour, but hours to view all these treasures on display. Advice: reserve tickets online, even if you have a museum annual pass, take half a day to visit this museum, wear comfortable shoes and use a map (available at the counter).

A cool way to see how art has developed over the years in Amsterdam, super nice building with alotttt of history. Could be in here for many many hours if you took the time to read everything, let alone just go through everything. It was very very busy though so I recommend buying a ticket in advance and also trying to go on a day where it’s typically less busy maybe.

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses the world's largest assortment of Van Gogh paintings, as well as drawings and letters. This museum is known for its impressive collection of vibrant artwork created by the renowned artist. It offers a multimedia family guide and various engaging activities to entertain children. One notable exhibit allows kids to step into one of Van Gogh's famous paintings, The Potato Eaters, while workshops and treasure hunts cater to different age groups.

Amazing experience. The tickets were a bit dear but overall it's worth the experience. The museum starts off with Van Gogh's initial days as an artist to his final days of struggle and chaos. You'll feel a bit connected to the artist himself throughout your museum tour (if you look closely) and the skill set that he showcased are all captured under one roof. Good stuff and make sure you take the media guide in your tour cos that can make such a huge difference.

This is by far for me the most beautiful and interesting museum i have ever been in my life. Amazing design, top of the art paintings, polite personnel that lets you take pictures. Keep in mind that you have to book your visit in advance. Amazing experience! I definitely recommend this place while you visit Amsterdam.

A visit of a lifetime. The whole experience visiting Van Goh museum was exceptional. The museum itself is big enough to accommodate a big crowd. Purchasing tickets is ideal, this gives you a quick pass at the entrance. Audio guide is included for free, I suggest that you should have this during your tour as it is a very nice tool to really understand what you are looking at. So much stories to tell from the Audio guide. The main lobby is so big and airy. Lockers are available for your large items / back packs. 2 boutiques are available and also small coffee shop. There are few benches inside the exhibition so you can relax and sit and enjoy listening to your audio guide. We arrived in the morning slot, therefore there’s not much of crowd. We took public transit to go there. Get ready your feet, as there are several floor levels for you to explore. Nice comfy shoes is recommended. Very impressive museum.

Futago T — Google review

Fantastic gallery that is really well laid out and easy to explore. The displays are beautiful and I highly recommend the audio tour to provide additional commentary on key pieces of art. Two hours was the ideal amount of time to explore the permanent collection, however, the temporary exhibition is also huge so we didn't have the time to take all of this in. I'd recommend allowing half a day if you want to see everything.

Hannah A — Google review

A dream come true to visit this beautiful museum and see most of Van Gogh’s masterpieces. The audio guide worked wonderfully - definitely worth getting if you plan on visiting. The layout of the museum was great - never felt a space was too crowded or cramped.

Very educational. It was worth spending all afternoon here.Having the audio narrator was a good choice. The gift shops have plenty of merchandise to satisfy all age groups with the price ranges. The staffs were sufficient and informative. There were plenty of bathroom stalls, and it was fairly clean.Going up and down the stairs in the main exhibit halls were a bit difficult for people with physical disabilities.I wish there were more seating.

L O — Google review

I absolutely loved it. I bought tickets for early in the morning so there weren’t too many people visiting. The lockers were a bit confusing at first but somehow I worked through it 😅 You can take photos of all paintings, which is great too. I had an audio guide and I think it was helpful but you could just as well get the same information without it.

€11 for students with valid ID card on the weekdays, beneficial to keep on mind as you can save around €10-11. It was a great experience overall. Worth every penny. Massive queue outside but goes really fast. The Starry Night painting is not here but in Paris, so don’t be disappointed.

Tickets need to be booked online, usually not available on the same day, so better to plan 2-3 days in advance. Could find very interesting art pieces, Van Gogh's life and his painting skills exhibited in the most authentic way possible. They are very well preserved and to see the painting strokes at a close proximity will be a painter's delight. Even people with no knowledge of art can get inspired by the master pieces in display. There's also a bookstore, souvenir shop and a small cafeteria inside. Toilet facilities also available. Can easily spend around 2-3 hours in this museum.

Mahalakshmi S — Google review

Absolutely stunning collection, beautifully displayed and a very informative audio guide. You really feel like walking across Van Gogh's life. There was a queue even though we had booked out tickets online before hand but it was moving relatively quick. Buy your tickets in advance because it's almost always sold out!

Katerina V — Google review

I spent 12 days in Amsterdam, and this was one of the highlights of my trip. The museum is absolutely stunning! I bought my ticket several weeks ahead of time and scanned the mobile ticket on my phone to get in. I spent a bit over two hours and enjoyed every moment. It was a bit crowded (I was there on a Friday afternoon), but don't let the crowds deter you from going because it's amazing.

Allie M — Google review

The museum building itself is amazing to see. You have to book in advance and we decided to go with the audioguide, which was a good choice as there are not a lot of descriptions to the paintings on the wall. However, the numbers of the paintings are not in order on the audioguide, which makes it a little inconvenient to use. Also these is no paper map of the museum that shows a suggested way to visit each floor. All in all: a nice museum and worth the visit. But could use a little more “old school” ways to make the museum more accessible.

Hannah P — Google review

Sundays are better because there are less people. Purchase the ticket in advance and enjoy a lineless entry. With lockers for backpack ans big bags, they have wonderful stores to purchase books and also souvenirs.Take your time to appreciate classical images.Purchase the tickets online as they are usually sold out in the museum.

Must see museum in Amsterdam. Spent the morning enjoying all of the masterpieces on display. Self led audio tour was great and was able to learn a lot about Van Gogh’s life as an artist and see other artists paintings that inspired him. Interesting and sad to see how his paintings changed as his mental health declined over time. Really enjoyed my time here. Highly recommend.

The museum is beautiful. A must-go for every Van Gogh admirer. It's easy to find. The tram station is right across the street. The museum itself is rather spacious, so even with many people around, we had no problem moving around.Still, it is best to bring lots of time. We spent three hours at the museum and didn't see everything!

The museum is an absolute must visit if you are a Van Gogh fanatic. The collection consists of most of his absolute best paintings. Incredible multi-level museum dedicated to the master Vincent Van Gogh. Founded by his nephew, the space houses a large collection of the artist’s famous pieces as well as many pieces by his contemporaries. Well curated display tells the story of his life and the various stages of his mastery. Definitely worth checking out while visiting Amsterdam. Make sure you reserve your tickets in advance and the audio guide is a must to get the full experience. The museum also two large gift shops and a café. Plan on spending at least 2 hours browsing through the galleries.

You have to book it in advance, but that's pretty much a common sense. Otherwise - it's an amazing place if you like post-impressionists, or Van Gogh in particular. Audio tour is really helpful, so I would definitely recommend buying it! Even my husband, who usually is not so interested in art, like it a lot.

A wonderful experience! It was more than we thought it would be, with multiple floors of his paintings as well as art work of his contemporaries. You WILL need to purchase tickets in advance. It’s sold out most every day.

Michael — Google review

A must-visit if you're in Amsterdam. The content is well curated, and you get to see how Van Gogh's style has evolved over the years. It's crowded, so it's better to plan enough time to see extensive artworks spread over 3 stories of the museum. You should book the tickets well in advance, too.

HJLee — Google review

Amazing museum, it gives a robust picture of Van Gogh’s life and his family and friends. The audio guide is available in multiple languages. It was not too crowded, we spent there around 3 hours, which was more than enough. There are lovely souvenir shops to get obsessed with Van Gogh and his masterpieces.

Tatyana B — Google review

I recommend getting the earliest time slot available as this museum does get busy! The audio guide is a must have to complete your experience here. The museum has self serve locker storage which is handy for your bags and coats.Overall one of my favourite highlights of my trip.

Stefan — Google review

I bought my ticket in advance. I do not recommend going without a ticket.even with the ticket you have to wait in line. usually tickets are sold out. I really enjoyed the museum. I didn’t have enough time ı had to rush… ı really loved the museum shop too. ıf i visit Amsterdam again ı really want to visit the museum one more time.

Boat tour agency

Sights & Landmarks

You will be able to explore the canals of Utrecht on a pedal boat ride with Stromma Utrecht Canal Tours, which is an authorized tour company. You will have to pay an admission fee, but this is well worth it as you get to see many beautiful sights while riding on the boats. The ride takes about 90 minutes and you can go at your own pace so that you can enjoy the views and atmosphere of this Dutch city.

It's the second time we've tried to swim, we really like it, the biggest route is very beautiful, you can see everything.

Kristina M — Google review

The guy working here was friendly and realistic, he was appreciated. However , the boats themselves were filthy, felt like they were going to sink and an absolute chore to ride! Felt like we had done a marathon and the allotted time isn’t enough to relax, you have to pedal the whole time. No clear signage as to the right canal you’re on.

Caïna V — Google review

Nice service with a fair price! The boats however are very uncomfortable and they don't move that efficiently given the power used. It will absolutely take you the 2h they say, so don't think you can go super fast and finish sooner, especially in a sunny day. The view that boat offers is quite unique, especially the first part. In case you are short, you can use your backpack as an extension on the seat to be more comfortable, my girlfriend liked it.

Cezar S — Google review

Probably the most beautiful activity you can do when visiting Utrecht. Check their opening hours before you go. They are open April, May, June, September and October from Wednesday until Sunday 10h00-18h00. Daily in July and August. Closed November, December, January and February. This way you are never disappointed...

Eva — Google review

Really fun way to see the beauty of the canals! Would've preferred to have a short cut route option in case someone wants to end it early, as the usual route is 1.5 hrs

Injy S — Google review

Went to Utrecht for a day out of Amsterdam. As a group of four we almost skipped this canal tour booth until one of us pointed it out.We each had to then pay an admission fee, but once that was done we were to hop onto a four man pedal boat and explore the canals of this Dutch city.We were completely blown away with the views and overall friendly atmosphere of the city. The ride takes about 90 minutes but you get to see so much at your own pace and have a fun time doing it.

F J — Google review

Super fun and cheap way to see the city from the water! It was only about 9 euro per person for an hours time (which was plenty).

Allison E — Google review

Very easy and nice way to see the canals in Utrecht. Yes you must pedal yourself but for us this was way better than sitting on a boat packed with other tourists! And cost effective with different canal choices you can make yourself. So easy to book and pick up your boat as well.

Lisa L — Google review

Reservation was from the website. Three routes; red - the longest, yellow - 1.5 h, blue - the shortest. It was worth seeing Utrecht from this side 😉

Botanical garden

Nature & Parks

Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is a vast 19th-century park which opens annually from mid-March to mid-May. It displays a breathtaking array of Dutch spring flowers and boasts around 7 million flower bulbs planted each year. Located in Lisse, it is one of the world's largest flower gardens and attracts approximately 1.4 million visitors during its eight-week season.

Beautiful gardens perfectly manicured lawns with great floral beds such vibrancy of colours and the smell is magnificent as you walk round is so intense, the restaurant's are very clean and staffed well and incredibly helpful, the lavatories are very clean and well maintained. The pavilions are well laid out and a festival for the eyes. Definitely worth coming a glorious day out.

Beautiful place! A sea of flower colors! 😍🌷🌱🌸 It's worth seeing! The park is large, with many beautiful locations. Lots of places to eat, playground, mini zoo, goats, sheep..🐑🐐🐇🐔🦆 Souvenir shops. We had a wonderful day, count on walking for 3-4.5 hours to see everything. 😁

Adelia K — Google review

Words are not enough to explain the beauty of this place. Also beauty of this place can't be captured in photos or videos. We just have to feel it. It is a beautiful Tulip garden in keukenhof which is opened only for certain period of time in between March to May. It was our pleasure to visit Netherlands exactly during this time and had a chance to visit Tulip garden. Well spent a day in this garden, lot of Tulips, picturesque places, high points for, kids play area, photography spots, what not, I feel minimum stay of 5-6 hours is required to feel the joy of this place

Snehaja C — Google review

Go early to beat the crowds, and you will have a truly wonderful experience. We found the gardens simply breathtaking. Every direction you turn is another picture-perfect view. The smell was phenomenal. The shop was lovely and not too expensive. Worth the visit.Truly a must see!

You will discover some spots for kids like playgrounds, trails, domestic animals, and, of couse, you can treat yourself to ice cream here! for every member of the family.Don`t forger to buy several flowers bulbs for planting for yourself and your granyes

Wow, wow, wow. We spent six hours here, trying to do it all. There was a surprise after surprise and there were so many awesome photo opportunities. There were indoor gardens with beautiful artwork, a maze to a tower, petting zoo, boats, windmill that we could go in, great food, lots of shops, and so much more. So much beauty all around and although it was so packed, we really enjoyed our time there. Expected to spend 2-3 hours, but were there foe 6!

Monette E — Google review

It’s a must visit place in the Netherlands. The garden is so huge and you can spend a whole day in there. Spring is obviously the best time to visit to enjoy all the beautiful tulips and greens. Something to remind the tourists is to book your transport along with the ticket. If not you will have to buy it separately which could be a bit inconvenient. The 20€ is just for the garden entrance collectively it should be 36 if I remember correctly. Another bonus will be bringing picnic carpets or towels it’s such a great place to hang honestly I didn’t want to leave. Along with that some sandwiches and snacks will save your day. There are cafes and and refreshments as an option. Try to cover as much grounds as you could and for that the little map comes in very handy. Also dress comfortably as you will be walking a lot. Enjoy! It is so worth it!

Derartu D — Google review

Such an amazing place. Displays the beauty of God's creation. Spectacular array of tulips and orchids. The colours are amazing. The place has many places to sit and just enjoy the scenery. Cafes and food trucks are located at various locations. There's also a playground for kids.

Ronald J — Google review

Our visit to Keukenhof Gardens was an absolute delight! We dedicated an entire day to exploring the meticulously landscaped gardens, which were a feast for the eyes with their breathtaking displays of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths. The vibrant colors and fragrant blooms created an enchanting atmosphere. In addition to the captivating beauty of Keukenhof, our stay in Lisse provided the perfect base for further exploration. Venturing beyond the gardens, we discovered an expansive canvas of tulip fields stretching over a 50-mile radius. Renting bicycles allowed us to immerse ourselves in this sea of colors, making each day an adventure filled with natural wonders. The combination of our time at Keukenhof Gardens and the surrounding tulip fields made for a truly magical and memorable experience. After visiting Lisse a few times now, I can suggest best time to be here is between mid April and mid May.

A C — Google review

There are no words that can describe how beautiful this place is💚 gorgeous and colorful flowers, they smell amazing too, I felt like I was in the secret garden, the more I wandered there , the more I discovered new and beautiful scenes of flowers and waterfalls.Make sure to check the weather, because the weather was awful when I visited it (end of April)

Arwa B — Google review

The gardens are fabulous! We went immediately to buy tickets for the canal cruise but it was sold out until 4:30 & we were leaving at 3. Souvenirs are reasonably priced. Wear comfortable shoes. We had incredible weather & took great photos. Clean restrooms!

Gerri D — Google review

Went here early April and the flowers weren’t fully bloomed yet. This place is lovely but it can be packed quite well. The place is nice and big and provides a great work. Worth €15 per person just to relax and do tulip sight seeing.

Jcx — Google review

Some really beautiful displays of thousands of tulips plus other bulbs and complimentary plantings. We booked a time slot awhile ago and recommendations were to go early to avoid the crowds but this is misleading as there were a lot of people booked in at the opening and many bus tours. Just keep in mind this is an event more than a traditional garden visit and you won't stress about the crowd. It was still a peaceful atmosphere and really lovely.

D&C L — Google review

We had the opportunity to visit and wow was it busy! The lines to get in were very long but moved quickly. Great washrooms and nice maps to follow on your self guided tour. Take your time and enjoy. The gardens are beautiful and immaculate. I had no idea how many varieties of tulips there were until the day I visited. So interesting. GO HERE and enjoy. Try the Friet Bus in the parking lot! Great fries!

Jason T — Google review

We visited this wonderful park on May 4, 2023. Tickets were bought in advance online, there was a huge queue at the entrance (they pass quickly). They took a map for free at the entrance, it helped us to navigate. The territory is very large, the legs got tired, they rested on benches or cafes. For children there is a large playground + mini zoo. Gorgeous park with lots of different colors. We went to exhibitions with flower arrangements according to the season. Lots of beautiful photo locations. Mill overlooking the tulip fields. We arrived at lunchtime and left at closing time. You can bring food and a picnic blanket with you. I advise everyone to visit this wonderful place and more than once!❤️

Halyna B — Google review

Best tulip gardens in the world. Opened for only a few weeks in the year in the summer. Go early to avoid crowds. Huge queue. Take the bicycle to cover the area. It is huge and worth visiting.

Samar S — Google review

An amazing experience. I was there in May 2023. The tulip fields are simply amazing, even despite the crowds of people. Lots of charming paths between blooming tulips, daffodils and other flowers.

Agnieszka R — Google review

Very nice tulip fields, so much greenery, cute little canal everywhere, so very colourful. Brings inner peace and happiness while in here. Also there are a lot of playing areas for kids. Nice wind-Mills with amazing history to it. All in all nice place to spend a day.

Hema S — Google review

Amazing. We have visited twice. We visited end of March the first time and the flowers were starting to bloom. The second time, we came end of April and 97% were in bloom. Both visits were fantastic. Lovely to stroll and wander around at your own pace. So picturesque. Plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and some bulbs. Would highly recommend to others.

Chloe G — Google review

Impressive collection and presentation of tulips. The area is very large, you can easily spend a day. Try to book an early slot, as it gets very crowded.Plenty of food options available throughout the park; playground, petting zoo and a maze will delight kids.

Alexander L — Google review

Amazing park, beautiful even with cloudy skies or under the pouring rain (and there some indoor attractions here!)Thousands of sorts of tulips, all incredibly diverse and beautiful. Themed installations.Plan to spend several hours here, as there are so many beautiful spots.Several fast-food options.

Evgeny — Google review

Fantastic natural park for those who like nature and especially tulips. Many and varied colors. We liked a lot. All logistics, transport from the airport, purchasing tickets online are very easy. As it is only open for a little over a month, you can expect a lot of people, but it's enough for everyone.

Paulo N — Google review

Keukenhof is a breathtaking floral paradise! The gardens are meticulously designed and bursting with vibrant colors during tulip season. I loved strolling through the different themed areas, each offering a unique experience. The variety of flowers and landscapes is truly impressive, and the sheer beauty of the park is awe-inspiring. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there's plenty to explore, including exhibitions, sculptures, and interactive displays. It's a perfect spot for families, couples, and anyone who appreciates nature's beauty. Highly recommended for a memorable day out!

Olena B — Google review

Wonderful gardens with an incredible display of spring bulbs. Tulip extravaganza! Crowded even at 10am on a Saturday in mid-April, extremely crowded by noon. Will definitely visit again next year, although will try midweek rather than a weekend. Photos below don't do justice to the 6+ million bulbs they plant each year!

Robert ( — Google review

Visit to Keukenhof gardens was a dream come true. The garden layouts are exceptional! We visited by the end of April, so all the flowers were in full bloom, Booked early prior to our visit. We drove from GB to Holland. Car parking tickets were also purchased online. Staff were friendly. Toilet facilities were also very good . Cafe had a variety of food and drinks and is conveniently located in different areas. The garden was big and lots of walking needed. The tulips were stunningly beautiful. It is less busy before 10.30 and after 16:00. The light of the morning and evening sun allows you to take wonderful photographs. It is also less busy on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday than on the other days of the week. Remember It's only open from the end of March to the first week's of May every year.

Ajith P — Google review

This is a must visit during tulip season. It is large but you can just wander around and you’ll be amazed at every turn. They do have very informative tours as well. Public transport there and back is simple. Buy tickets ahead if you can but otherwise they are available when you arrive.

John S — Google review

Arrived early, and did a full circuit of the gardens. The colors and arrangements are spectacular. There are lookout spots around the gardens where you can see the farmer tulip fields all around. It's a very beautiful and peaceful place. Also saw an old automated organ playing a full brass band. Was very entertaining. Highly recommend a visit during Spring.

Theme park

Water & Amusem*nt Parks

Disney-like theme park with attractions including wooden roller coasters and water fountains, light show and fairytale-themed rides.

We have visited the location more of curiosity due to the fact we are not very much into amusem*nt parks. But we had lots of fun in various places, from Max&Moritz to Baron... 😂. In the end we had a great day, full of everything. We'll return here gladly! What I liked the most it was the fact that each attraction had a story behind and it was completely integrated in the park. Suitable for small kids or big kids just like myself turning 49 next month 😂

Mihai S — Google review

Loved it. We had a lovely day. Especially good for families with smaller kids. Nevertheless, there are great roller-coasters for older kids and adults. The distances in the park are quite long but everything is good connected, there is a steam train going around which stops at different locations. Toilets are everywhere, same as food places. Highly recommend it!

Jessica S — Google review

A fantastic Theme Park for a family day out. Well organized and run. Can be busy but the app helps you monitor the queue times. Plenty to do and see in the park. Bring a little lunch and enjoy the gondola ride on the lake. Overall had a great day out here. Barron and Python were excellent 👌

Jamie M — Google review

Very nice for 3 days with 2 kids. Queues were between 20 and 50 minutes a bit everywhere. Understandable for a weekend. Rides are diverse enough for any tastes and family composition. We loved the early entry for the hotel guests. We could enjoy the busy rides like this.

Iulian U — Google review

The place is well organized with multiple areas listed in a map. I highly recommend downloading the EFTELING APP which contains; live map, waiting time for each ride, restaurants, shops and everything you need to now about the park. Also you can download the photos from each ride. Kids will have more fun there because they have plenty of rides suitable for them. I loved every details there. Don’t miss out the Magical garden inside the park!

Mohsen A — Google review

Super. Great park, with lots see and do. Would 100% recommend! Went with family of 4 people, 2 adults, 8yr old and 12 year old and all had a great time.Ice skating was a lovely extra and very reasonably priced (2.5euro per person) Because we visited midweek in December (tuesday) there was pretty much no queues to get on any ride. Loved the atmosphere and it wasn't too far to walk anywhere to any of the rides or attractions. Attention to detail is great and the theme is carried throughout the park, really did feel like you were in a magical elf land.

Deirdre B — Google review

In one word "mesmerizing experience"Efteling has everything which you need for a relaxing and fun experience. It has everything which you think of an amusem*nt park. Started from rollercoasters, live shows, thrilling and theme based rides. But, what I liked the most is the relaxing environment. It's not too busy and you feel like you are transported to a different world, where you can do a relaxing boat ride, listen and live the old Dutch stories ( My 6 years old son loved it ).There are lots of eating places and everything is theme based. We stayed at the Efteling facility, and it was amazing !A few things to remember before planning your visit: if you are planning a day trip then create your itinerary prior to your visit. Download the Efteling app it has everything you know about the part.If you are fun loving and want to do the rides then, try to come at 10 am ( when the park opens ) so you will have less waiting. Lots of indoor rides so the rain will not ruin your plan. And don't miss the live shows.I stayed for a day so we were able to do most of the activities.Overall a very nice stay and experience. We will visit again.

Balesh B — Google review

Was here back in 2019 on a school trip. Amazing theme park work plenty of rides for anyone who loves coasters. The atmosphere was great too and the music playing throughout the park added to the experience. Food was good and staff were friendly. It was pricey and queues were long but it was worth it! Definitely will return if I get the chance and I do recommend.

Christian D — Google review

Really sweet and beautiful family park. The park does definitely have some larger rides (including Baron which was disappointingly closed both days we were there) but ultimately I think it's an ideal park for families. The number of ride and experiences that are perfectly catered to 8-13 year olds is just staggering, and easily as impressive as bigger parks like Disneyland Paris. The bigger rides are also really good and the food and drink offerings are some of the best value for any theme park I've ever visited.

Jack K — Google review

Loved this place. First stop for our holiday to the Netherlands. We stayed in the hotel so could take our time going through the park. The wait times for the rides are generally 20 minutes. Far quicker than any theme park in the UK. Also the food and drink seem quite reasonably priced. Would recommend the Caro show if you get a chance to watch. Would go back again definitely! The app is also a must for directions and also giving you alerts for wait times for the rides.

Steven T — Google review

The garden was wonderful and each section was more beautiful than the other. We spent a whole day in the garden and did not play all the games and see all the sections. I think the garden is enough for two days. There are also free offers throughout the day, many restaurants and gift shops, and also simple games for younger children, the place is organized It is tidy and clean, and each game has a different story. It is true that the queues are long, but everything is organized. Also, the workers there are nice and cooperative. I recommend it to everyone, and of course I will go again

Ohod A — Google review

An amusem*nt park mainly for children, and a few roller coasters for adults, especially the scary Baron.A wonderful talking tree that fascinates.A city that is in panorama and with small details of life and trains. And you should definitely stay in the evening for the musical fountain performance! It's magically aesthetic.

Olga K — Google review

Nice place if you don’t want to go to Disneyland. This is like the mini Disney in NL if that makes sense. Going there when it is very cold is probably a bad idea though it is more beautiful when it has a winter vibe but maybe not wise.

Ronke A — Google review

Experience the magic at Efteling! We’ve seen so many videos of this amusem*nt park and we finally made it there to visit. The tickets are so affordable and the park is stunning! Tons of attractions and rides for all ages, games, food and shopping! This is one of the best parks you will experience for the price. Low key, chill and relaxing environment. I prefer this park over Dis—- because it’s so much more enjoyable and less people! My favorite ride was the farting one. Hilarious and so creative. Can’t wait to visit there again soon. It’s great for all ages and even has playgrounds for the little ones.Don’t forget to grab some pancakes while you’re there!! The pancake restaurant was the coolest!!Purchase tickets online in advance and pay for parking right away. So simple to get in the park and same when you are leaving.

Tela R — Google review

The place is awesome, so many rides and so thrilling fun. The only drawback was that when we were there, 3 main rides were closed. That’s why I took 1 star off. Always check the rides status before you plan your trip. We went in a weekday in March, the weather was good and the rides were not so busy. The fire and water show in the main lake at the end 18:00 was awesome as well. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The best thing was that they would take care of my daughter who was too small to sit on bigger rides while I was enjoying the rides. :) the Fairly takes rides were so nice my daughter and I loved that the most. :)Will visit again when all rides are open. Always keep in mind that you need at least the entire day for the park.

Prem S — Google review

A lot of similarities to Disneyland except the themes are different. Very detailed and the atmosphere is great. Queues waiting times were way too long for a week day though, could get to 1+ hours on the bigger coasters.

Alon H — Google review

An amazing weekend spent here! We stayed in a wonderful woodland cottage in the village of Bosrijk, which was only a 10 minute walk to the park. Staying on site allowed us early entry into the park each day, which meant we were able to tick off some of the bigger rides before the ques got too long. However across the whole weekend we were there the longest wait time was only 40 minutes. There is so much to do, and the kids loved it, ours range in age from 10 to 2 and they all were entertained the whole time. You can add on a photo pass which means you get all of your ride photos and any meet and greet pics across the time you are there.Food wise, there are lots of fast food snacks and treats and some restaurants even have special treats for the kids, such as games, plates and glasses you can take home with you.We loved it so much we are thinking about going back at Christmas.

Laura — Google review

Very satisfying! Not the DISNEY style, but the mood lasts no less than its.You can see lots of details in all aspects, and you may not like them all but they all maters! From their website, APP(IT’S BRILLIANT), the design of all the attractions, to the activities from on-line to on-site, they are just amazing. The history and the importance in the Dutch people are no need to be mentioned any more.Everyone should come and experience this amazing place! It’s the old story but in an easygoing-yet-not-boring-at-all style.

Michael W — Google review

It was such a lovely experience & even if you booked tickets for a full day, you’re unable to see all their attractions! Two downsides would be the very long cues & nearly hour of waiting for the rides plus when buying hotdogs or food they don’t use gloves & hair caps which is unhygienic.

Alexandra B — Google review

Amazing family day out. Great mix of rides for all ages. Reasonably priced snack stands with delicious waffles, hot donuts, french fries etc. Download the app before you go, add rides to your favourites list and check out wait times. 10/10 for families. We can't wait to go back!

Wendy O — Google review

I’ve been to the Efteling on and off again in the past 5 years. With our most recent visit, it’s time to put it all down in a few words! The Efteling is truly a magical place where you can spend hours without even noticing. It’s fun for the entire family: kids, teens and adults. The attractions are thrilling (like the Baron) and expertly themed (like droomvlucht). If you are thinking of visiting (which I highly recommend) make sure to check a few things:- if you visit with younger children, take your time. Two days instead of a single day will allow you to go through the park at your own pace. Make sure to book a lodging at one of their resorts!- try to visit on less busy days! Their website has great information on when the less busy days will be- don’t forget to look at their website to find which rides are open and which aren’t! Don’t be surprised when you arrive, as some attractions undergo maintenance during the less busy months (mostly in the winter and spring)Have fun!

Kevin A — Google review

Loved this place, we spent two days here and stayed at a euro park camping site 10 minutes drive away. Lots to see and do, definitely need a few days. I would recommend using the app to get around as it's a big place, lots of rides my 5 year old could go on and loads of eateries and toilets scattered about.I would go to the big restaurant towards the top end of the park for lunch as it has a wide choice of meals. There was a really chilled out boat ride for when you need a break and the ques are fairly quick.Obviously the large rides have bigger ques, the Barron roller coaster had a 45 minute wait but that was the longest and we were there during the Easter half term.Parking was very easy and a very short wait to get into the park. All in all it was really easy, stress free and fun. The only thing I would say is that a lot of the shows and dialogue on rides is only in Dutch so you can miss some of the information but honestly I hardly noticed.I would definitely come back here. Also don't miss the water fountain show at the end of the day.Just a small warning but also look out for the road dividers on the road running alongside the park when you drive in, one of them was poking out which we hit and gave us a flat tyre.

Tim C — Google review

The Efteling is consistently enjoyable, regardless of crowd size or closures. During my recent visit, construction was underway on the parking lot, entrance, several attractions, and a new hotel. While these constructions detracted from the visual appeal and somewhat dampened the atmosphere, I still had a fantastic time. The park's charm persists, especially in the smaller fairy tales. I highly recommend visiting the Efteling, as I have always done and will continue to do so.

Bjorn L — Google review

Very nice amusem*nt park for everyone from kids to thrill seeking teens to adults. Very busy on weekends or holidays so plan well in advance and avoid busy days for smaller wait time on attractions. We went on a middle of a week on a rainy day yet wait times for the big coasters were 10-15min so imagine the case on a summer day. Lots of restaurants inside and food is not too expensive. We enjoyed our meal at the La Place Buffet. The end was very nice coz of an amazing fountain show.

Dibyojeet B — Google review

Fantastic theme park, fairy take theme with a nice mix of rides from extreme to super-mild, and animations. Price fair, lower than most, incl done places with far less. Queues low to reasonable (no fast track option but many rides have sole-rider queues), only one ride bad all day. Only food could be better, though less rubbish than most theme parks (and it’s almost all tasty). Could use more coffee availability. Especially recommend the fairy dreamhouse, what they call the “madhouse”, the light show and the beautifully restored ancient carousel. Staff friendly and helpful.

Jw D — Google review

Lovely park, every detail is well thought and has personality. For sure worth the visit and the experience of immersing yourself in another world. The rides were also quite nice, it’s a great place to bring kids as well, anyways, I’m looking forward to come back in a warmer day!

Carolina V — Google review

Absolutely fantastic theme park. The entire park is extremely well maintained, very clean and so much to see. There’s something going on everywhere you look.Rides are not as extreme as at places like Alton Towers but the park in general is far superior. There were minimal queues when we went on a Monday but we still didn’t manage to see everything. Make sure you get there early!

Craig J — Google review

What an amazing experience!! Best 8 hours I’ve spent at sub-zero temperatures in my life. Could easily have stayed longer. The rides were great and all the themed displays inspiring. I can well imagine that it can get quite full when it’s warmer, but we did not have any queues on the day.

Hotel

Sights & Landmarks

The Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - Central Station is located in a central area of the city, making it easy to get around. It also offers a lobby bar and free breakfast.

We found this hotel to be clean, comfortable, friendly, and a great value. Twin beds were comfortable. Shower was great. We were able to store our luggage in a locked room for later pickup after we checked out.Location near train station, restaurants, and other attractions is very convenient. Breakfast is a little light on protein, but otherwise good quality.

David B — Google review

Top notch service. The heaters were fantastic, I’d just come from a Hampton by Hilton in Amsterdam and the rooms were freezing. Thankfully the temperature control was marvellous.Nice view of Rotterdam city from window. As I frequently travel more and more, the smaller things like storage; where to pop your suitcase becomes increasingly important. The window sills hold your luggage and goods whilst the table can be left free for your laptop / other belongings.I really appreciated that at this hotel as you can see from the pictures. And because I went when it was very cold the window sills acted as a fridge for the milk I’d purchased! And it worked well.Breakfast: served at a very tight and congested area, not the best selection. However the yoghurt was surprisingly good. Some beans would go a long way.Recommendation to the hotel: give some slippers will ya!

Honestly, this hotel has the features to give it a really high rating. Great location, good rooms (maybe a tad small) but I booked a quite basic one. The staff is well prepared and helpfull. I arrived at a busy time so I did wait around 6 or 7 minutes, but that's very expectable around 18:00 in a hotel. Parking was good too.The breakfast was a bit different, I had to pick a time slot but my preferred one was not available. They gave me a bag that I could fill at the breakfast buffet. I got what I wanted for breakfast but a little different. All good

Stayed here for 2 nights. The reception staff and General manager made me feel welcomed. After coming off a flight from the US at 9am they allowed me early-check in (subject to availability of course). The Location is great, only about 2-3 blocks from Central Station and an easy walk. You're right outside a tram station as well, to get around Rotterdam. I would just walk to most of the places nearby as nothing I really wanted to see was more than a 15 minute walk.Room was simple but well appointed. It did not have a mini-fridge or iron. Usually these Express hotels are for business travelers who might need to iron a shirt. The Air condition worked well although you could open the window if needed.Breakfast had plenty of seating. The spread was simple and standard for a continental breakfast in Europe. It had sliced deli meats, 2 cheeses, croissants and toast, a couple of cereals, and warm hard boiled eggs. I really wish they had a better hot section instead of warmed eggs I'm happy. There was only 1 coffee machine and the line would get long at times.Overall I would recommend staying here because of the location and really great value. It has public transportation nearby, and all the staff I interacted with were really amazing. They had staff speaking Dutch, English, French, and Spanish, and probably more. They had a private room to store luggage in case you wanted to explore the city before or after check-in.

I was staying ,Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - Central Station, for 3 months for job Purpose , My room number was 442I had the worst experience ever in my entire life , No safety no security No respect for guest items1, someone stole my laptop all IDS from breakfast Table even managements from hotel don't care about the incident even don't sorry or looked the CCTV footage because maybe Hotel staff related this, also they knew me cause i am staying long time2.Reception service was very rude and unprofessional specially the supervisor and team leader, every time i went and get a stupid lame excuse i don't know come tomorrow or call managements3.managements service is very bad ,My rooms landline was not working from beginning i made 4 times complain and report to manager also but no one even came to checked4.Housekeeping service also was bad every time they clean the room but cleaning lady used to lefts some dirty rags ,bins in the rooms and have to call them again to remove5. There was no safety and no security so how peoples from outside came and took your staff and no one know who came who leftsAll together i had no choice to change Hotel because my company had contact with Holiday INN that's why i was not able to changesPlease be careful everyone before book this hotel for safety and security its 0000 Hostel is more secure than this HotelManagements and Netherlands Authority should get rid of that's kind stupid service

One of the most limited low cost hotels I have stayed in the last years. The positive aspects are the size of the room and bathroom (comparing to other facilities of the hotel), and some of the staff that try their best (not all, some were very unfriendly). The breakfast is extremely limited in terms of items and their quality (even the peanut butter of very low quality), no cheese spread, gluten-free just a simple granola, etc.The room is very empty, no minibar. The hotel has nothing besides rooms, and a very squished reception with some food/drinks to pick and pay next to it and the breakfast place. In the same trip we have stayed some days at the Marriott, just 2-3 blocks from the Hollyday Inn, and price not too higher, but the Marriott was so much better. At the end of my staying, and additional surprise was that they announced that they needed to charge me an extra because the fully prepaid reservation did not cover their full prince (I had neve seen that before). If you arrive before 3pm, expect long waiting time to start checking in just after 3pm.Thus, I recommend to look for other hotels in Rotterdam.

Mark B — Google review

Cleanliness in general very good, unfortunately, as you can see in the photo, there were blood stains on theBed. I obviously put them open, because it may be that they have been overlooked. But the good cleaning staff simply covered it again and ignored it.Really recommended for a short stay of 1-3 days, everything about it is a disaster. Breakfast, the same every day, air conditioning (as the windows cannot be opened) does not run very well and cools or heats the room very little. The view is also not exactly the best but the location is very good Central, all in all bearable but about the cleanliness, toilet brushes on the toilets or let alone a cupboard in the room would be really desirable

Tim W — Google review

I went to this hotel for the second time, and again everything was very nice. Last time was in lockdown time a year ago, the room was not cleaned then you had to order what you wanted for breakfast the day before. Now the breakfast buffet was open again, and there were not really and regulations anymore luckily. The room was clean and spacious.

Kirsten V — Google review

Rooms are comfortable, but I had my room but dirty - shower supposed to be cleaner, air vent in bathroom had a an inch of mold inside, I did not have any shower gel and shampoo in room. Curtains - some spots, smell - like room was not ventilated for few days already. Service and location - very good. Breakfast- poor. No hot meat.

Sebastian L — Google review

Location excellent, but no irons in the rooms! Street noise and neighbours sounds were disturbing a bit too. And there were only 4 hangers tied to the pole!! I was on the business trip and couldn't either iron my clothes in my room or hang them all nicely. Breakfast was ok and staff was nice!

Miira N — Google review

Good customer service. Breakfast was included in the package. There was a good selection of different food, pastries, continental hams and cheeses. Great location, near lots of eateries and shops, too. Will definitely return!

A good and nice hotel in the middle of the city. Nice, clean and quiet rooms. Friendly staff. Shops are on walking distance. Only no parking place for Tourist bus, but within 15 minutes walking distance there are 3 places. Ten minutes further, 17 more places.

After 9 nights for sure I will not visit this hotel again. In my humble opinion this is a not a 4 star hotel.1. Stains on all walls and mattress2. Dirty chair3. Very (!) limited breakfast4. Very small rooms with nothing else except a basic TV and hairdryerGood part:Friendly staffGood location

Very nice and quiet hotel, perfectly located not only in walking distance from Rotterdam Central Station, but in walking distance from city center avenues, restaurants and attractions. Tram stations right in front of the hotel. Staff is super friendly and helpful, breakfast is basic but on point.

Very convenient location from Rotterdam central station..Good comfortable rooms with continental breakfast..Pricing on a higher side. No complimentary water bottles provided.. extension of stay possible but might be expensive than initial booking..Always check online and also with reception and then make payment based on which ever is cheaper

First time here. Lovely personnel. Breakfast bar could do with a more efficient layout. Plates are at the back, past the bar. Tea bags etc are past the water dispenser. Otherwise, it's all good

Good hotel at convenient location very near to central train station, hotel rooms are clean and neat. It would be great to have room freshener in room.Breakfast is average but not bad. Our room had a bathroom sink issue, it was quickly resolved by Chene, Thanks!

Bad1. Very limited breakfast options and found hair in the breakfast more than once.2. Room was not cleaned by housekeeping on one of the days3. Lacks necessary things in the room like a toilet brush.4. Stains on walls and curtains..5.bedding was too small for bed and when making requests to get proper bedding the request was just ignored.Good1. Friendly staff2. Close to public transport3.ability to leave bags before and after check-in

Thiloshni N — Google review

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. The best thing about it is the location. It is close to almost everything in Rotterdam. However, the rooms are really outdated. The carpet is not clean. There are a lot of things that need to be improved. There isn't much choice in breakfast.I recommend the hotel if you are staying for 1 night.2 stars for location and staff.

Elyas D — Google review

Using the parking lot is uncomfortable. Whenever I enter the parking lot, the car number is not automatically recognized, or there is no way to tag the hotel key. Also, there are 4 lifts, but 2 of them don't go to the ground floor that is linked to the parking lot. Probably I don't know how to use the services better.

Sr K — Google review

Rooms were quiet, and mattress and shower were serviceable. But there were some issues. The phone was nothing most than a prop or paperweight. I wasn't connected to any system. 0 dial tone. The temperature was fixed and wouldn't go below 19c. I requested an iron (s8nce there were not any in the rooms?) And I got a toy. No steam, it wouldn't heat high enough to function. Breakfast was disappointing, especially since some other locals hotels have a beautiful typical Dutch spread. Housekeeping was a riddle... didn't take out trash. Generally speaking the service was good, but it did seem that some of tue folks would benefit from some training.

VintoW — Google review

Location, location, location. Great rooms for the price you are paying. Front desk staff is very helpful with any questions. Would definitely recommend this.

Insgesamt war es okay, aber es gibt definitiv Verbesserungspotenzial.(Translated by Google)Our stay at the hotel was a mixed bag. Unfortunately there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, which is an absolute no-go for us. The breakfast was a bit poor, but the rooms were clean and tidy. The location of the hotel was very good, but the parking garage was quite narrow. Overall it was okay, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Tim B — Google review

We had no housekeeping come into our room across a 3 night stay despite speaking to reception about it. We had to ask for towels, toilet paper and tea/coffee.We saw housekeeping on our floor but for some reason kept skipping our room. We tried leaving the sign requesting house keeping on the door and we tried not putting it on the door - it made no difference.Eventually our bin was overflowing with rubbish and there were wet towels everywhere where they'd not been collected. The location is good and breakfast is OK but limited choice.

Aus Deutschland bin ich besseres vom Holiday Inn gewöhnt.(Translated by Google)The rooms are very simple. No mini fridge. Nothing special and not a big selection, but sufficient. You have to get a ticket for your breakfast for a certain time slot. I have read abt not so good review and I had to write this to give my experience. I would say my experience was great overall.Room is good size, I have got the room facing city, mid floor. Though it’s within walking distance from Rotterdam central station, I find that it’s still quiet. Location is great!Breakfast was with acceptable selection. One appreciation note - I arrived ahead of checkin time and hotel/staff is nice enough to offer stroopwafel with coffee (perhaps due to IHG membership). Upon completion of the local Netherlands taste, the room was ready for checkin. Staffs were attentive and warm. One thing to note - hotel room is not equipped with USB port for charging. Guest would need to bring your own power plug.Overall my experience was great.

The room is quite clean, the location is very central, but unfortunately there is no hand soap upon arrival and the chair is dirty, so the housekeeping needs to be more careful. As an elite member, we get a black card that allows us to always have breakfast in the morning . I wouldn’t know what the hotel is like because I’m still stuck far after check in waiting to get my room. But I know enough about my experience to know the hotel is not being run in a smooth manner.

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Aachen Cathedral (Aachener Dom) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the city of Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is one of the most important religious monuments in Europe and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The octagonal Palatine Chapel was built by Emperor Charlemagne as his palace church in 800 and later became the coronation chapel for Holy Roman Emperors. The Gothic choir was completed in 1414.

This Roman Catholic church is really old as it dates back to the 9thcentury. Many German Kings and Queens were crowned in Aachen's Cathedral, as well as being the resting place for Charlemagne. There is nothing modest about this structure. Mosaics, gold and marble in the interior add a glorious feeling. It is considered occidental architecture and if you take a tour you can learn all about this new UNESCO World Heritage site.

Sudarat M — Google review

So much history throughout this stunning Dom. Free to walk in on the first floor, where you get a view of the mosaic ceilings and top to bottom, stained glass. The climb to the top of the tower is also easy and accessible. This is a must see when visiting Aachen.

Mathew L — Google review

My visit to Aachen Cathedral in 2014 was a fascinating journey into the heart of history and art. The cathedral's rich architectural heritage and religious significance left a lasting impression, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and culture lovers. The intricate design and craftsmanship of the cathedral's interior were awe-inspiring. The golden mosaics and beautifully adorned chapels showcased the skill of the artisans who created this magnificent place of worship. The Palatine Chapel, in particular, stood out with its unique octagonal shape and exquisite detailing. The historical importance of Aachen Cathedral as the coronation site of numerous German kings added to its allure. Standing in the same space where centuries of royal history unfolded was a humbling experience that transported me back in time. The cathedral's surroundings, including the charming Old Town and the nearby Elisenbrunnen, provided an excellent backdrop for exploring the city's cultural offerings. However, the experience could have been enhanced with more detailed information provided at various points within the cathedral. While the architecture spoke volumes, additional signage or guided tours would have provided deeper insights into its historical and religious significance.Overall, Aachen Cathedral is a treasure trove of art, history, and spirituality that should not be missed. Despite the minor lack of information, the beauty and cultural value of this UNESCO World Heritage Site make it a compelling destination for anyone with an appreciation for the past and the wonders of architectural excellence.

Sayak D — Google review

A pretty cool place to visit. Thearchitecture is very intricate on the outside. It’s amazing how detailed the inside is. Seems like every square inch of this place is as decorative as possible. The stained glass is a sight to see. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy elaborate architecture. A pretty casual environment. You’re pretty much free to walk around at your leisure and enjoy it at your pace.

Phil F — Google review

If you love gothic places, this is your moment! You can get awesome pics and if the sky is grey, you will feel how the witchy vibes increase 🙌❤️

Sara A — Google review

I was in awe to visit this church, no wonder it is the first site to be granted UNESCO World Heritage in Germany. Vistors are allowed starting at 1pm, you have to pay extra to enter the area where Charlemagne's grave is. It is really worth a visit. Very impressive. Pictures does not do the justice on how beautiful it is.

Charyfe's V — Google review

Impressive, unparalleled. Middle ages, Charlemagne, Barbarossa....i don't wont to repeat the trivial things - check Wiki... If you come around 10 am you probably will be lucky to book a same day guided tour ( German/English). With this tour you can see some areas of the Cathedral that are not accessible otherwise. Absolutely worth visiting.

Vita E — Google review

One important historical landmark in the city of Aachen, Germany. Situated in the heart of city centre of the Aachen city. I would say a must visit place in this city. Inside the cathedral it’s so beautiful. Entry is free. From outside also it’s huge and also beautiful.

Ish*ta M — Google review

This is a very beautiful cathedral absolutely worth a visit. I was really impressed by the beautiful artwork in the cathedral. There was a fee of 1 EUR to take pictures, but that was absolutely OK considering that there is no entrance fee.

Joseph H — Google review

Ahmed M — Google review

Really beautiful church. Visit is more than recommended. This is definitely on of Aachen highlights. Free ticket to the church, if you have time include the treasury which is a bit further, but course it is payed. Not here like google maps indicates.

Lucas K — Google review

Very nice cathedral. Built by Charlemagne. Has two very distinctive architectural styles, Roman and medieval European. Not too busy and you can get guided tours.

Samuel A — Google review

Impressive history. Unusually shaped church. Incredible interior artwork. We have visited four or five times and see something new with every visit, especially depending on the hour of the day and the amount of light on the windows.

Jack L — Google review

Gorgeous cathedral with wonderful details all over the ceiling. You pay €1 for taking pictures inside (fair price) and €3 to go to the roof and see the city form there. Definitely worth visiting.

Emerson — Google review

This is a beautiful cathedral inside and out. Really worth a visit. You need to pay to take photos inside, if I had had my DSLR with me, I would have paid. It’s very beautiful inside.

Shelley B — Google review

Majestic and huge church with intricate designs on the ceilings and floors inside. Very aesthetic and something very different from other cathedrals. A must recommend. Free to enter. You can also take pictures but you’d need to deposit 1 euro coin for taking pictures, which I think is justifiable as the interior is so beautiful.

Shantanu S — Google review

It is a really singular cathedral (with a unique distribution of the main chambers) in comparison to the standard concept of cathedral that one could think about. During Christmas, it is surrounded by the Christmas market, which makes it even more special. I think it would be great, if they would allow us to get into the top of the cathedral to see the views.

Sergi G — Google review

Absolutely stunning cathedral, along with an amazing and historic Christmas market right outside. 100% worth seeing! The inside of the cathedral is jam packed with intriguing designs all over.

N T — Google review

Aachen Cathedral is a masterpiece that left me in awe. The intricate architecture and historical significance make it a must-visit. The blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles creates a captivating atmosphere. The cathedral's role in history, housing Charlemagne's Palatine Chapel, adds another layer of fascination. A truly enriching experience for history and architecture enthusiasts

Nomad — Google review

A very beautiful cathedral with breathtaking views. The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful. Although the city is so vibrant and busy you cannot feel this when you are so close to the cathedral where everything is so calm.

Cristina F — Google review

A masterpiece of medieval architecture, it stands as a monumental testament to Charlemagne’s reign, and it blends Romanesque and Gothic styles in its grand design. Renowned for its Palatine Chapel and intricate mosaics, it has been a pilgrimage site and a coronation church for German kings, embodying centuries of European history and artistry.

Book store

Sights & Landmarks

The Bookstore Domincanen is a beautiful 13th century Dominican church that houses an indie bookstore selling diverse Dutch and English titles. The store is stunning, with sweeping arches and high ceilings, and attracts tourists from all over the world.

It's an amazing library inside an old church. The prices of books are standard and there is also a coffee area where to enjoy a reading. Most of the books are Dutch. However, you'll find some sections in different languages such as English, Spanish, French, German, etc. The place is worth a visit

Jota A — Google review

Very beautiful book shop that is worth visiting. The book store fits very well in the old church and this way the architecture of the church can be appreciated. The book store is big and has several floors with books. There is also a cafe, but it is not worth visiting the cafe given there is excellent pie in places around the bookstore like the famous bisschopmolen bakkery.

F. N — Google review

Great experience in this historical building, a converted church to bookstore cafe. Atmosphere is very nice to enjoy a coffee next to a selection of thousands of books and even art pieces. People are very polite and helpful. A must see place in Maastricht.

Prettiest book store in Limburg. Upcycled or repurposed medical church. The place has a great ambiance. The building dates back to year 1300. There is also a nice cafe with good coffee and bites from coffee Lovers . Also they host lot Cultural events.

Really cool bookstore/library inside an old Cathedral. The multi levels offers you a close up look at the ceiling and structure of the Portices.

Marc W — Google review

A decent collection of recent English books that will be sold fast. No surprising findings. Nice postcards and stationery.Unfortunately there was no cosy feeling of an independent bookstore because this place kind of lost itself among a tourist attraction, a church, a photo oppotunity and a bookstore.

Olha Z — Google review

While studying abroad in Maastricht, this bookstore was one of the coolest spots in town. Not only does it represent the European mindset of reuse and repurpose, but the look and feel of this church turned bookstore was legendary! Filled to the brim with crisp paperbacks and a little shop you could get lost in for hours! The friendly staff, coffee shop, and quaint finds makes this bookstore a must see!

My favorite place in Maastricht. This bookshop is located in an old church. It is full of books, but nothing seems to touch the original structure. The love the way the old is mixed with the new.Of course a great selection of books. Found a few in English.4-26-2023

Housed within a former Dominican church dating back to the 13th century, this bookstore offers an unparalleled ambiance that seamlessly blends history, culture, and literature. The juxtaposition of ancient architecture with modern bookshelves creates a truly enchanting atmosphere that transports visitors to another world. This has to be the most beautiful bookshop in the world. Set in a stunning old church complete with a cafe. If you are in maastricht you must visit it.

Gill M — Google review

Great bookstore. Friendly personnel. Gorgeous location. Easily spent three hours browsing the many books. The first floor is mainly Dutch books, stationary, etc. Along with a nice coffee spot. The second floor is mainly English books, and graphic novels. The third floor is second-hand books. This bookstore alone is reason enough to visit Maastricht.

Noël B — Google review

I love the atmosphere of the bookstore! It is unique, impressive, and an interesting idea, to turn the old church into a bookstore. There are even some English books. If you happen to be in Maastricht, this is a definitely a spot that you shouldn’t miss— “A bookstore made in heaven”!

J. — Google review

Location of this book store is fantastic! There are enough books, however (only in my opinion) choice of English books is not that big. They have all the trend books for sure! And again, the bookstore itself is gorgeous!

Anastasia T — Google review

Visually it is a very nice store. Very iconic location, but it's not the best 'book'store. But that might be a personal thing, I like my bookstores to sell books and little else. This store however is more all round and sells records, CDs and smaller items like mugs, calenders and notebooks. Certainly book related items but it might have had an impact as the bookselection felt a little limited, though that might also be a space thing. Despite the large square footage at its core its a fairly small store. As a bonus though, there was also a selection of second hand books.

Ellen R — Google review

Awesome place, I love it. It is very atmospheric and old, I liked their collection of book and souvenirs and second hand books on the second floor.

Polina L — Google review

Absolutely stunning location for a bookstore. If I had lived in Maastricht, you would find me here every day. There is a wide collection of Dutch books and a generous mix of English ones. There are also nice little presents and card games. The cafe at the back is seemingly cosy, but I did not try it.

Federica V — Google review

A bookstore in a beautiful church which is cool. The books are not organised neatly and kinda messy. Worth a visit though.

A S — Google review

One of the most beautiful church/bookshop that I have been to. Even if you are neither into books or churches, this place is a must visit as it is none of those but something really different. What an amazing experience.

Hampton by Hilton Antwerp Central Station is a budget-friendly hotel with a gym and free breakfast, as well asviews of the city's railway station.

Brilliant location next to station and its taxi rank, with loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Just a mile's pleasant stroll into old city.Staff very welcoming, hotel very clean and presentable, rolling breakfasts delicious as are 24/7 pizzasReally hope to return

The room wasn't anything special. It was just another hotel room. It was, however, well taken care of. All personnel was professional and really kind. They anticipated on our needs. I'm extremely positive about the service that was offered. The location is top-notch, right outside Central train station, so there is an abundance of public transport to choose from. The hotel borders on the high street, so you can check-in, leave your luggage behind and literally start shopping within 5 minutes (if that's what you're in to)The zoo is also in walking distance as it is literally around the corner from central station. Maybe about 50m from the entrance of the hotel.I will definitely return to this hotel, mostly because of the convenience of it all.(Photo explanation: I had a room at the front of the hotel and this was my view. Just to illustrate how close the station is to the hotel)

Spacious room, comfortable bedding. However, they are not soundproofed, we heard the neighbors' TV and more… 🔞Cleanliness is OK but not perfect (fingerprints on switches, door handles, toilet flush, etc.)The breakfast is good but the staff does not follow, you have to wait a long time for it to be refilled (a lot of shortages: jams, croissants etc.)

To start off, the location of this hotel is amazing for a nights trip from Brussels or Brugge. It is right across from the train station so it is easily accessible. The lobby is nice and clean, the gym is small but decent and the breakfast is adequate. That is where my praise ends. When I first entered the room there was a strange smell which I suspect came from the stained carpet. There is construction currently going on right next to the hotel which is very loud and makes it impossible to sleep in. But my main problem was the bathroom/shower. Both the body soap and conditioner were missing there plugs. This allows for moisture and humidity to constantly be circulating through the containers which is unsafe. On top of that, the lids could easily be removed and when I did I noticed there was bits of conditioner(?) in the soap and a disgusting blue gunk growing on the soap containers (I have attached pictures). This is extremely unsanitary and unsafe. On top of that, the shower water did not maintain a steady temperature. It went from warm to burning hot to warm to burning hot. I was consistently screaming as I got burned by the water. I ended up showering at a friends place as both the water temperature and soap made me uncomfortable showering at the hotel. This was very disappointing and ruined my experience.I would recommend looking at other options near the train station before booking this place but the location is prime.

Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised. Location couldn’t be beat. The hotel is right at the train station. Close to all main attractions, shopping district and dining. Very friendly and professional service. Rooms were spacious for Europe. Breakfast was a full buffet. I can’t say enough about our stay and highly recommend.

Connie R — Google review

Very comfortable room, clean, good in-room amenities. We were at this hotel over a weekend and it seemed completely booked but we certainly couldn't tell while we were in our room. Hardly any noise filtered into our room from the street (we faced Central Station) or the construction going on and if people allowed their doors to slam (which normally happens in hotels) we didn't hear it. The rooms were so well insulated. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our last day in Antwerpen we wanted to stay and walk around the city later than the checkout and front desk staff stored our luggage for us. When I came back to collect there was a long wait in the lobby, people checking in, and the person who checked my luggage saw me, finished what he was doing at the moment and motioned me to follow him. He said he didn't want me to miss my train. So nice and thoughtful. I wish I would have gotten his name to call him out.The buffet breakfast was very crowded, that is how we knew the hotel was booked up, but still good and plenty of food. One of the coffee machines was out of order when we were there so long line for the coffee...but no big deal.Location was good, across from the Central Station, and about a mile from the town square but we enjoyed the walking so no issue for us.Would definitely go back.

We stayed there for 14 nights and everything was perfect! Location is great right in front of central station, room was clean , breakfast was pretty good and the hotel staff was very friendly and attentive! And special thanks to the receptionists Rachid and Noimi who helped us through out our stay with their suggestions and were very kind. Will definitely stay here if we visit Antwerp again!

Aakruti D — Google review

We rarely give a 5* rating, but this hotel deserves it. We stayed there for one night in mid-July for fair price. The staff at the reception was outstanding, friendly, well-spoken and very helpful. We were also delighted with the size and cleanliness of the room, the comfortable matresses and the layout of the sections. the room was quiet despite its front pointing towards the railway station. The breakfast was included, the selection was sufficient and the staff there very friendly and fast. We would always return there.

Hampton by Hilton was the perfect hotel for our stay. It is located directly across the street from the Antwerp train station. Taxis and bikes for rent are steps away from the front door of the hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean, good sized, and well stocked. Great experience.

Lynn F — Google review

Great value for money overall!Pros: Very good location. We arrived from the train station and the hotel is 2 minutes from the train station and the metro station . Well sized rooms. Well lit and with good air conditioning. Comfortable and clean beds. Really great value for money. Amazing staff, very helpful and very knowledgeable! Thanks for an amazing time.Cons: The bathrooms were clean and hygienic but the shower area could have been cleaned better. Also the breakfast was okay. It can also be improved vastly. I would prefer to have breakfast outside the hotel next time

Umair — Google review

I stayed here with family and very much enjoyed it! The staff was extremely friendly and helped with every extra request & question we had. The room was spatious and the entire property is clean. The breakfast had enough variability (although my son missed the fried eggs – they only had scrambled eggs). We very much appreciated the small gym. Greetings from Hungary (Budapest) ;-)

Great hotel. When visiting Antwerp, I recommend staying here, it is located across the street from the central train station. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the room is cleaned every day. Breakfast included, buffet, there is everything you need for breakfast for every taste, very tasty. Friendly staff. If there is an opportunity to still visit this wonderful city, I will definitely stop here. Within walking distance from the center and all sights of the city.

Andrey Z — Google review

Excellent experience! Rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast that was included was excellent, a far higher calibre than most inclusive breakfasts I've experienced at other hotels. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Elizabeth B — Google review

We stayed four nights, arriving very early morning from North America by flights to Brussels and then by train to Antwerp. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were very professional and luckily our room was already available. We enjoyed very much the location of the hotel, the professional attitude of the staff, and the morning buffet with healthy options (eggs, cold and warm vegetables, etc.). The training room was good too. The only minor comment is the hot water stability, it fluctuates back and forth between too warm and just right. Room was clean, bed was great. When we left we were allowed also an extra hour for late checkout and could work in the hall with coffee available. Overall we are really happy about our stay and would go back if visiting Antwerp again.

Isabelle L — Google review

The rooms (we were on 7th floor) were nice. Its a bit unfortunate that the parking is like 3min by foot away and that the reception is on the first floor. Made our arrival and departure a bit bumpy. Parking costs with 16 euro/night are great. Also super accessable by train as it is right at the train station. The breakfast however is terrible. They should really send someone to look after the food (the veggies were old and nothing was really cooled or had silverware to serve it... so people destroyed the buffet). It looked disgusting at 9.00am. For a hotel of this category, I expected a decent continental breakfast. Also the presentation of the food as such was sad. We ended up having breakfast in the city.

Stella — Google review

If you can catching Thalys or any other trains, no other hotels beat this hotel’s location. The breakfast was served two charming Asian staff members and that made a great start of the day.The bathroom door was not working well, so I had to take one star off. But clean and cozy. The surrounding area is not as safe and clean as the hotel itself. Be extra careful with taxi drivers waiting between the hotel and the station. They refuse to receive online payments and give you a receipt or try to race with other cars. If you don’t have big bags, go elsewhere to catch a cab.

Très chouette hôtel situé proche de la gare d'anvers central. Confortable et bien aménagé, seul bémol étant la douche très basique et ancienne. Le petit déjeuner est bien fourni et de bonne qualité.Une bonne expérience globale malgré un service basique.(Translated by Google)Very nice hotel located near Antwerp Central station. Comfortable and well appointed, the only downside being the very basic and old shower. Breakfast is well stocked and of good quality.A good overall experience despite basic service.

I love this place. The views are amazing in the lobby and also in some of the rooms. It's conveniently located for touring Antwerp, and a quick walk from the station. The staff are amazing and helpful. They speak fluent English. They go above and beyond to make your stay better. The breakfast spread is great, very filling. You can even grab a piece of fruit for later. The beds are fine, not amazing. The rooms themselves are great, plenty of space, big windows.I would love to stay here again. This was my view!

Hotel very close to central station. We came by car so not very convenient to park in garage 300m in an alley in the rain. Room was nice and quiet and breakfast was well organised with good staff despite it being very busy. Not the same can be said for the reception desk though. When checking in no eye contact, hello/good evening and crew just staring at the monitors instead of helping customers check in. Then a rude group just barged in front of line, without personell knowing they just helped them.Check out just as terrible. No goodmorning or goodbye again. When asking how to receive the hotel parking discount as advertised, the reception was clueless: Interparking Vesting recognized my car numberplate as i'm member of their chain, so I could enter without a ticket and fully charging me for 24 hours.

Dream S — Google review

The hotel is directly across the street from the central rail station, so very convenient if you’re arriving by train. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as groceries. If you’re arriving by car, parking is down the street and around the corner, about a 5-10 minute walk.I was upgraded to a huge room with a kitchenette and dining table, as well as plenty of windows. The room overlooked the train station - good for the views, bad for the noise. There was lots of traffic noise during the day but it died down later in the evening.

Perfect one night stop over across the road from Antwerp Centraal station. Appears the hotel is virtually brand new... it is absolutely lovelyHuge comfortably family room with 2 huge beds. Kitchenette and dining table. Large bathroomFull bar and restaurant (which we didn't use, but looked great!)

The welcome was very good. However in the room there were hairs on the switches. The worst part is at breakfast, I had to return at least 10 cups to finally find one.The same goes for small spoons. It is unacceptable !

Hawa D — Google review

It's okay. The location is convenient for guests arriving by train, tram or bus. If you come by car, you should add 30 minutes on top of your satnav ETA. The hotel has no parking facility.Rooms are okay, however during our stay some items were missing and or dirty. Also HH benefits items were not in the room. We where offered to switch rooms but as we already where settled we refused.Breakfast is okay, the restaurant is spacious and there are plenty of tables available. The receptionist (Rachid) at check-in clearly did everything to make us feel welcomed and valued as a diamond member. The staff at checkout had a completely different attitude.Despite Rachid's best efforts i am not sure if I will use this particular hotel for future stays

Gerard M — Google review

Quite nice location. Fitst, I thought that I will be dusturbed by the noise of the trains from the train station across the road, but apparently, it turned out that windows have three layers of glass and you can't really hear any noise. The only thing, that I didn't like is that there was a huge hole betweeen the bathroom door and the wall. Otherwise nice rooms, not bad breakfast snd very polite staff.

Shopping mall

Shopping

This beautiful shopping mall is popular with tourists for its high-end stores, restaurants, and theaters. It was designed and built by architect Jean Pierre Cluysenaer in the early 1800s. The three galleries are filled with luxury shops, auditoriums, elegant cafes, and restaurants. There is a commemorative plaque of the first showing of a motion picture camera in the area as well.

It’s really an eye catching experience strolling through the shopping mall. The high glass ceilings provide much charm and elegance. So many beautifully displayed shops and cafes. Most of the stores sell chocolate.its an awesome place.

Another legendary area of Brussels. Here you will find great food and lots of shopping. There are some unique shops where you can find gifts and souvenirs unlike any I have ever seen before this trip! Absolutely a must visit.

Victor F — Google review

Rain or shine, walk the gallery like a boss. You will find gifts, eateries, the best confectionery, and art. It gets a little busy if tours are guiding groups; so plan to move slow if you have small children. A nice stroll if you have a mobility impairment, no stairs or steps make it very friendly.

A must visit in #Brussel to explore world famous beautiful Grand-Place square, the city has the first glazed shopping arcades in Europe when Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries opened in 1847, 365 costumes for the city’s famed Manneken Pis statue, Tin tin & smurf too.Amazing beer session at nearby pub with hundreds variety to choose with great taste making you more thirsty 🍻.

There are numerous luxury brand shops inside this beautifully built building. Either you wanna shop or do a window shopping its a must visit place. I loved clicking loads of picture not just the shops but the architecture of the saint huberts hall. And nor to forget to get few pictures of us clicked as well. If you wanna get some pictures without the messy crowd, have a walk early in the morning around 8 am and you should be able to get some beautiful shots!

Rishad A — Google review

Initiated around 1837, the project led by the young architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaer aimed to revitalize a disadvantaged neighborhood by constructing a building that would accommodate residential units, shops, cultural venues, and recreational areas. Construction commenced in 1846, and the official inauguration occurred on June 20, 1847, with the presence of Leopold I.The place formerly known as the Umbrella of Brussels was designed in the Florentine Renaissance style. Its most notable feature is the ingenious glass roof, supported by a series of self-supporting arches. The roof is adorned with fish-scale style tiles, which enhance ventilation and prevent condensation.Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert is a great place for shopping and browsing, both for locals and tourists. I can say that it offers a shelter from the unpredictable Belgian weather. There are a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, with a focus on chocolate ateliers and gift shops. The prices at the mall are higher compared to regular shops, as they mostly offer luxurious gifts and souvenirs. It is a pleasant place to spend time and admire beautiful things. The mall tends to be crowded during the day.

Beautiful architecture, steeped in history and charm. Walking through its elegant arcades feels like stepping back in time, imagining how the noble families used to shop back in the days. The stunning glass ceilings flood the space with natural light, enhancing the ambiance of the boutiques, chocolatiers, and cafes nestled within. It's a perfect blend of culture, shopping, and indulgence, having also a theatre accessible from the passage.

The grandeur of the beautifully adorned architecture, with its soaring glass ceilings and intricate detailing, left me in awe.As I strolled along the elegant promenade, surrounded by luxurious shops and bustling cafes, a sense of wonder filled the air. The exquisite displays of haute couture, fine jewelry, and artisanal chocolates captivated my senses, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The melodies of street musicians filled the gallery, adding a touch of harmony to the vibrant atmosphere. It was a truly unforgettable experience, where time seemed to stand still, allowing me to savor every moment in this remarkable place."

I was surprised by this shopping street at first, it is a hidden high end shopping street around this busy area with only few brands. In case you are not here for shopping and it is possible to stopby for some Belgium beers and waffles. The night view at this area is completely different from the daytime, if there is enough time. 👍

The Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert in Brussels is a captivating cultural gem that blends history and elegance. The stunning architecture and charming ambience create a unique shopping and cultural experience. The intricate design of the gallery, with its glass roof and delicate detailing, adds a touch of grandeur to the atmosphere. The diverse range of shops, from boutiques to chocolatiers, offers a delightful mix of Belgian craftsmanship. I was enchanted by the artistic displays and quality craftsmanship of the local artisans. While the experience is undoubtedly enchanting, a few more interactive exhibits or informational plaques could enhance the visit. Nonetheless, the Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert is a must-visit for those seeking a sophisticated blend of history, art, and upscale shopping in the heart of Brussels. Four stars for its timeless charm and cultural allure!

The Grand Place in Brussels is a magnificent, historic square encircled by some of the most impressive and beautiful architecture from the 1500s. The square is one of the best places in Brussels to explore for its beauty and history, with ornate buildings surrounding it displaying intricate stone-work, stunning gold decoration, baroque gables and awe-inspiring architecture. It's a must-see destination in Brussels for anyone interested in history or architecture.

2022.05.05 We visited the Grand Place multiple times. Daytime and nighttime. Lovely to see and spend some time to look and enjoy the architecture of the buildings. Incredible view and lovely. A must see when in Brussels. Many cafes and restaurants in the area especially if you want Belgian Fries, Waffles, Chocolate, Ice cream and definitely beer.

What a fascinating and remarkable place this is. Was really amazed to see the detailed work carved on all these buildings in this famous square. The buildings are about 400 years old but they will still give you the most amazing aesthetic view. You could go any time and stay around to get the beautiful vibes from this place. Loved it and is must visit place.

I love that there are a lot of people, tourists and friendly nationals. The most beautiful thing is turning around and finding a store to get chocolate 🍫 which I recommend you get from Godiva, with their history from 1926. I did visit this place hurriedly and I hope I'll have the pleasure of coming here again. Until then, aurevoir.

The Grand Place (French: [ɡʁɑ̃ plas]; "Grand Square"; also used in English) or Grote Markt (Dutch: [ˌɣroːtə ˈmɑr(ə)kt]; "Big Market") is the central square of Brussels, Belgium, and widely considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Here's a breakdown of why it's worth visiting. The Grand Place is a stunning ensemble of baroque guildhalls, representing the wealth and power of the Brussels guilds in the 17th century. The ornate facades, with their intricate details, sculptures, and gilding, are a feast for the eyes. Two prominent buildings flank the square: the Gothic Brussels Town Hall with its towering spire and the neo-gothic Maison du Roi (King's House), now housing the Brussels City Museum.

Grand-Place is architecturally breathtaking. You can stand them up the square and be mesmerized for hours of all the architectural details but that’s hard to do because the people watching is also so much fun! And the heart of Brussels it brings your heart to life.

One of the most famous places in Brussels - the main square. It has lovely buildings around it with fascinating architecture. Definitely a must visit place! There is wide range of coffee, bars and restaurants in a short walking distance.

Wonderful experience. So many glittering houses and cobalt stone laid footpaths. The vibes of mediaeval Europe can be found here. I enjoyed it a lot.

Nice place to watch in evening, we were expecting a light show but it was just normal lighting as in pics. Waited for an hour and there was no light show. The square is good to hangout

Very cool spot for walking or relaxing while drinking or eating. The town hall located in Grand Place is very imposing which makes you be in awe of it. In rush hours, the square can be very crowded but even then you can enjoy your moments. This place is a must-visited one!!

Mesmerising views, great vibe to the place, lods of restaurants, waffle and chocolate shop everywhere. It's centre of the city and you can easily spend an hour looking around or more if you planning to have your lunch/dinner here.

I am a local & proud to share that grand place has always some or the other thing for all. The beautiful guild buildings stand pretty and looks stunning during night time . Several great heritage shops & restaurants bars around. It’s a safe place to take stroll solo also. It’s truly the beating heart of Brussels city . You can expect some live bands playing & more activities during spring summer .

Stunning buildings in the square. Really busy. Didn't have time to venture inside but you can pay to enter. Beautiful architecture.

Noctaluca — Google review

Pretty cool spot to see in person with all the gold trim on all the buildings at the square. Was very busy even during the week with lots of visitors and locals it seemed. We just spent enough time to try the famous fries and admire the buildings but moved on to other spots within the city fairly quickly

One of the best squares in whole Europe. Very enchanting and lively. The architecture is just amazing and very detailed. Every time I visit Brussels I try to spend a moment here and just to my fav cafe and get a waffle

The Manneken Pis is a bronze sculpture of a small boy urinating in a fountain. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Brussels and is an embodiment of Belgian humour and rebellious spirit.

Visited this place which is one of the tourist attractions of the city. The lanes and the surrounding showcase the old golden era of Belgium and city of brussels. Lot of old building and old rides are attractive. Many statues in this area symbolic to many beliefs of the people in the country. These lanes have many restaurants too where u can enjoy waffles and other food items. U also can have horse cart ride and enjoy the street musicians there performing in front of crowd.

This is definitely one the most well-known tourist spot, many souvenir shops, bar, choco, restaurants...etc around this area. Good to pay a visit n last but not least, beware of pickpocket.😉

In Copenhagen, we have The Little Mermaid - Brussels has Manneken Pis, and they are equally both important and irrelevant, because your expectations are due to be failed. This is a very little fountain on a street corner of downtown Brussels, just of the Main Square, which is much more entertaining. But like in Copenhagen, or the Eiffel Tower in Paris, you HAVE to go - it's a must, you have not been to Brussels, unless you have seen this 60cm stature....pissing :-)

This is also a must do if you come to Brussels....but don't expect it to be huge and magnificent..... it's actually really small. Small doesn't mean unrelevant, or to be disregarded. It's like an awkwardness! This little guys is being dressed differently all the time. And the streets to to it are beautiful

A small statue of a naked boy child pissing is kept in the famous square. Has a historical significance. The original statue is kept in the Belgium museum as it was stolen so many times. This one's a replica. And there's always a huge crowd to watch this statue. The irony is there isn't a single restroom available nearby, if you felt like pissing! There are many shops lined on the road towards the Statue from the Grand Square, you can't miss the crowds.A restaurant right next to the statue has a huge queue as well for people wanting to fine here.I loved a Lace shop exactly diagonal to the Statue. It has lovely white & Black lace objects like handkerchief, decorative items, artifacts, etc made from white Belgian lace which was once a very handy, delicate & famous Art form. I bought myself a White laced Umbrella for thirty Euros from this shop as I am a big fan of hand made articles, as I come from India.

Manasi S — Google review

A overrated Statue you find only because a lot of crowd is around. Few 100 meters from Grand place. A nice walk from Grand place.

Shri G — Google review

I wonder why so many people gather to see this little statue of a boy pissing! It is a success of promoting a city! They prepare different clothes for the boy on special occasions and you can see its previous clothes in a museum just a fifty meters up the street from the statue. To avoid crowds, visit the statue early in the morning

The Delightful Charm of Manneken PisManneken Pis, the tiny bronze statue, is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Brussels. Despite its modest size, the playful spirit and quirky personality of this little guy bring joy to visitors. The tradition of dressing him in various costumes adds a whimsical touch to the experience, reflecting the city's sense of humor and creativity. While it may not be a monumental landmark, Manneken Pis holds a special place in Brussels' cultural tapestry, reminding us that even the smallest things can leave a big impression.

Farin S — Google review

Whether it's overrated or not is uncertain, but the stroll to this location within the old city was truly delightful. If you're visiting, be sure to take home some chocolates, as there are numerous shops offering exquisite Belgian chocolate in the vicinity.

30/04/22: having been to Brussels 4 times, it is only in the last few years that I have documented places I've visited, as a part of my Google legacy. This time in Brussels I was celebrating my Stag Do with 18 friends. Probably one of the most famous photo opportunities in the whole of Brussels. Scout Day today, hence the little wee lad was eventually dressed as a Boy Scout!

A cute little sculpture, one of Brussels’ attractions. The sculpture is really not that big so low your expectation. The surrounding area is somehow clean despite a lot of visitors. It’s an easy walk from the center.

The symbol of Brussels, a bronze figure of a naked peeing boy. Those who see it for the first time may be disappointed by its greatness. Always surrounded by crowds of tourists, Manneken Pis is often dressed up in different outfits. Around delicious Belgian snacks: waffles and fries.

We stopped here as a stop of our tour. It’s a very nice statue with a beautiful story behind it. Amazing vibes and lots of tourist around it. Awesome to visit and I guess even better to see it while they’re changing his attire!Highly recommendedThere is even a calendar of when they change it

From everything I’ve seen here in Belgium, Mannekin Pis sums it up. I don’t understand how this became emblematic of this city but it embodies the charm and overall fun Brussels is. It was not dressed in a costume today but there were lots of tourists taking photos. Very close to the Grand Place where you can enjoy the smells and tastes of waffles and chocolate.

Pete R — Google review

The iconic manekin pis, I would suggest it would be better to go there early in the morning since it is a tourist destination and as expected it was really crowded during the day. So because i want to have a good shot i went there many times since it was just few meters away from my accommodation. I had a chance to see the statue wearing different clothes.

Charls L — Google review

A cute corner to see the little sculpture making fun of you. The rascal is tiny; don't expect a monument. The area is busy and tourists cover it most of the time. Go see if in the area; but, don't make it a destination cause there are many beautiful places to explore in Brussels.

Indy V — Google review

The statue may not be much to see but there is plenty of restaurants and shops in the area that is great for drinks, catch something to nibble, or indulge in some of the best waffles this side of Brussels while relaxing and contemplating what the evening has in store...

Small statue/fountain (60 cm?) of a boy in a street corner. Lots of people here but easy to get a photo. The boy get dressed in different clothes on different occasions (often together with a speech and/or a small orchestra). Worth a visit when strolling the city center.

Tomas K — Google review

It’s really cute but a bit overrated. The statue is really small. I was there a few times during a day just to check the if the dress is different, but I realised that it’s one costume per day from 9am to 6pm. Close to the Grand Place, iconic place for Brussels

Paweł B — Google review

Icon of Brussels, small than expected but interesting tourist point. Unfortunately I did not visited in one of the special costumes were used, however is the same street you can find a place that you have all costumes exposure. Interesting fact, the original one is in a museum, the one on the street is a replica.

It’s not the most exciting thing to see but it is in a lovely spot. It’s also so small! We went early Saturday morning and everyone there was offering to take pictures of each other in front of it and it was a good crowd.Totally overrated but no one actually goes to Brussels just to see it. It’s just more so an interesting thing to walk past!

The Manneken Pis is small, but very popular and fun. It's impossible to miss, as it's always dressed up in different and colorful costumes. A symbol of the city of Brussels. It's a great area to spend time drinking, eating and meeting people.

Everyone knows how tiny it is in real life🤭 When we visited The Order of the Friends of Manneken Pis (I think) was hosting some sort of induction ceremony, and had it dressed up in a robe and hat so kinda obscured anyone’s view. But it was a friendly gathering nonetheless.

Very crowded corner this is the most visitors point of Bruxelles.. Manneken Pis is one of Brussels' most famous landmarks, renowned for its quirky charm and cultural significance. Translated as "Little Pee Man" in Dutch, this small bronze statue depicts a naked little boy urinating into a fountain basin. The statue, created in the early 17th century, has become a symbol of Brussels' irreverent and playful spirit. Its exact origins are somewhat shrouded in legend, with various stories attributing its creation to different historical events or figures.Manneken Pis has a rich history of being dressed up in different costumes, often representing various occasions, festivals, or cultural themes.
