Pickle Pizza

Putting pickles on pizza might not seem very appealing, and even though we really love all kinds of pickles, we were doubtful at first.

We usually prefer the classic pepperoni and mushroom combination. But we took a chance and stepped out of our pizza comfort zone, and oh my, it was way better than we could have ever imagined - truly a WOW moment! Calling all pickle lovers! This one's for you.

✅ You'll Need

Crust: Our go-to is a homemade thin pizza crust. It's really easy to make and doesn't need much time to rise. If you're not up for making your own, store-bought pizza dough works just as well. For those who prefer a thicker crust, just remember to bake it a bit longer.

Garlic Sauce: The garlic sauce we make is fantastic, and it's great for more than just pizza. It's also a tasty dip and can add a lot of flavor to things like bread and chicken!

Pickles: For this pizza, we prefer thinly sliced dill pickles. But feel free to slice them however thick you like. Dill pickle chips are also a great choice.

Cheese: We use shredded mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese on top.

Extra Toppings: If you're someone who likes meat on their pizza, try adding some ham or Canadian bacon!

Spread the garlic sauce over the pizza dough, and then add the parmesan, mozzarella, and dill pickle slices on top.

👨‍🍳 Pro Tips

  • Crust: For a crispy base, pre-bake the crust for a few minutes before adding toppings.
  • Garlic Sauce: For a richer flavor, let the garlic sauce sit for an hour or more before spreading it on the pizza. This allows the flavors to meld together.
  • Pickle Placement: Distribute the pickle slices evenly over the pizza to ensure every slice gets an equal amount of that tangy pickle taste.
  • Cheese Matters: Use freshly shredded mozzarella and parmesan for better melting and flavor. Pre-shredded cheese often contains anti-caking agents that can affect melting.
