Are WORDS more powerful than VISUALS?Research studies have shown people have more trust in nonverbal communication over the words used as expressions.Communication skills are commonly focused on "how we articulate ourselves," i.e. what we say.Nonverbal communication is connected to our gut feel. When someone conveys a message, and their thoughts and feelings are not aligned with what they are saying, it comes through visual cues, generally. These visual cues make us Trust or Not to Trust someone. These visual cues include:👉🏼 Body Language - Facial expressions, Eye movements, and Gestures👉🏼 Tone of voice - Pitch, Volume, and PaceIf you have the skills to hide these visual cues all the time, then this post doesn't apply to you.Generally, your thoughts and feelings come across in a way that others can see misalignment between your words and your visual expressions. Here are a few things you can do to avoid such misunderstandings:✅ Active Listening - show your understanding by nodding, subtle mirroring, and using "mm-hmm," etc.✅ Observation - pay attention to the person's response to mutual interaction. If you are paying attention to their non-verbal communication, they may be doing the same. If your conversation comes across as not genuine, you will lose trust and credibility with that person.✅ Emotions - understand the emotions behind the conversation. There is a non-verbal exchange of emotions that happens when people talk to each other. Understanding the underline emotions can make the conversation successful.✅ Cultural awareness - Be mindful of cultural differences in gestures, personal space, and eye contact. Understanding such differences gives you cues to communicate effectively.Remember, non-verbal communication skills are best developed through practice and self-awareness. By consciously focusing on these skills, you can significantly enhance your ability to understand and communicate effectively without relying solely on words.

This is under appreciated element Golddy - thanks for raising this again. I had an interesting chat with a team member recently - she works with a client remotely and no one ever switches on a camera. So it is really as if you are conducting all the engagement with a telephone call. And the challenges are real - because you cannot see facial expressions, body signs, etc.

What do many leaders get wrong?Leadership isn't about hoarding knowledge, skills, or authority. In the competitive world, leadership can sometimes feel like a zero-sum game. We might think that to rise, others must fall."A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle," Father James KellerThis simple yet profound statement holds a powerful lesson for modern leaders!Leaders who focus solely on their own accomplishments may achieve short-term success, but their impact is limited. When we empower others, we don't lose anything; we gain allies and collaborators to grow together.A single candle can light many candles. Similarly, a leader who inspires and motivates can ignite passion and purpose in others.Leadership is more crucial than ever in today's complex and interconnected world.Let's embrace the mindset of the candle and create a brighter future for the world around us.We don't lose anything by helping others. In fact, we gain better opportunities to grow together.#leadershipdevelopment #personaldevelopment📹VC: IG - @alansteinjr

Does a fancy degree automatically translate to a rockstar employee?A higher degree isn't the only positive assessment of someone, as the video suggests! While a solid educational background can undoubtedly be an asset, it's not a substitute for the right attitude. The ability to work effectively with others, regardless of background or experience, is essential for a productive team.Refrain from dismissing candidates from less prestigious schools or those with unconventional career paths.A stellar resume might get someone hired, but the right attitude will propel others to success.Agree? #leadershipdevelopment #personaldevelopment📹VC: IG - @the_leadership_lighthouse

The term "Law of Attraction" is a philosophy The film and book, "The Secret" significantly popularized this term. There is no scientific evidence that supports the claim that the frequency of our vibrations directly determines what we attract in our lives. However, there are some areas where the concept of frequency and vibration does intersect with science:Brainwave Frequencies:Different mental states are associated with distinct brainwave frequencies, which can be measured by electroencephalography (EEG). For example, relaxation is linked to alpha waves, while deep sleep corresponds to delta waves.Sound and Vibration:Sound is a form of vibration that can influence our emotions and physiology. Certain frequencies and rhythms may have calming or stimulating effects.Physics:In physics, frequency refers to the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time. This concept is fundamental to many natural phenomena, including light, sound, and electromagnetic waves.Even though the Law of Attraction is not a scientifically proven principle yet, our experiences support this phenomenon. What's your experience with this phenomenon? Please share…📹VC: IG - @charchar1n_only#wisdomwaves

A leader can only coach those who demonstrate a desire to grow, agree?A leader has a tough job of producing business results while influencing a diverse team to be at their best. It's important to balance productivity and people's well-being effectively. Here is what Simon Sinek says, "Leadership is not about being in charge. It's about taking care of those in your charge." Get to know your team and work with them accordingly to influence high performance.^_^Lead by example:Conduct yourself the way you expect from your team. If you demonstrate a commitment to excellence then those in your charge will start to reflect that.^_^Set direction:Your team must know which direction they are headed. Their tasks must have meaning or purpose. Communicate clearly, what needs to be achieved, by whom, and when. This helps team members to focus their efforts to achieve a purpose.^_^Provide support:People have limited capacity and leaders need to recognize what makes their team members perform at their best without feeling drained by distractions. Facilitate an environment with necessary support including adequate tools, training, coaching, and constructive feedback.^_^Reward excellence:It's important to observe behavioral patterns and team chemistry and learn what's working well. Not everyone is interested in high performance. Whether, the team members just meeting the job requirements, or show the desire to learn and grow, all efforts made to serve the purpose, must be recognized and praised. #leadershipdevelopment #personaldevelopment
