Division 1

Notre Dame Sectional

HOBART - Bay Port won the sectional title and Notre Dame finished second to both qualify for the WIAA state tournament.

The top two teams and the top three players not from those teams qualify for state in all three divisions.

Mason Haupt of West De Pere was the individual sectional champion after shooting 68. Chance Rill of Kimberly and Collin Evers of Appleton West also advanced as individuals.

Preston Lamirande led Bay Port by finishing second with a 70.

Bennett Madson led Notre Dame by finishing third with a 74.

The state tournament is June 3-4 on the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run in Kohler.

LUXEMBURG - Winneconne and Seymour advanced to the state meet, with the Wolves winning the sectional title by seven strokes over the Thunder.

Austin Dobbe and Casey Peters tied for third by shooting 74 to lead Winneconne. Vince Sigl led Seymour with a 75 and tied for fifth.

Alex Johnson of Berlin shot 72 to earn medalist honors and advance to state as an individual. Jon Bertram of Xavier and Matthew Vanden Heuvel of Wrightstown also advanced to state as individuals.

LAKEWOOD - Bonduel won the team title and Lena was second to both qualify for next week’s state tournament.

Colin Margelofsky and Jake Dreyer both shot 77 to lead Bonduel. Braden McVane led Lena with a 75 and was the individual sectional champion.

Kaiden Bailey of St. Thomas Aquinas Academy advanced to state as an individual with a tie for second place after shooting a 76.

Hortonville 7, Green Bay Preble 1

HORTONVILLE - The seventh-seeded Polar Bears pushed across four runs in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth to earn the regional win.

Hortonville will face second-seeded Kimberly in Thursday’s regional final.

Broden Butzin doubled and drove in two runs, while Turner Kuhnke and Jack Coenen had two hits each to lead Hortonville.

Taiven Gass pitched four innings to earn the win, allowing one hit while striking out three. Bo Anderson finished the game on the mound, pitching three innings, allowing three hits, one earned run and striking out five.

Cian Burke was 2-for-3 to power the Hornets.

Appleton West 3, Appleton North 0

APPLETON - Loren Georger allowed one hit and struck out 11 in a complete game to pitch the Terrors to the regional semifinal win over the Lightning at North.

Neenah 15, Sheboygan South 0

NEENAH - Mack Krause pitched a five-inning complete game and struck out eight as the Rockets blanked the Redwings in a regional semifinal contest.

Ethan Van Dyke had three hits and stole three bases for Neenah. AJ Price and Will St. Clair had two hits, including a double for each, and Isaac Verbruggen also had two hits for Neenah.

Division 2

Xavier 8, Luxemburg-Casco 0

LUXEMBURG - The sixth-seeded Hawks upset the third-seeded Spartans to advance to Wednesday’s regional final against Denmark.

Mosinee 2, Freedom 0

MOSINEE - Top-seeded Mosinee advanced by blanking the eighth-seeded Irish.

The loss dropped Freedom to 14-12 to end the season, while Mosinee moves to 21-5.

Mosinee will host fifth-seeded Fox Valley Lutheran on Wednesday in a regional final.

Fox Valley Lutheran 9, Seymour 5

SEYMOUR - The Foxes raised their record to 15-12 with the win over the Thunder.

Fox Valley Lutheran will play at top-seeded Mosinee in the regional final.

Seymour finishes its season with a record of 14-11.

New London 6, Little Chute 0

LITTLE CHUTE - The 11th-seeded Bulldogs stunned the third-seeded Mustangs in a regional semifinal.

New London will face second-seeded Notre Dame on Wednesday in the regional final.

Division 3

St. Mary Catholic 1, Kewaunee 0

KEWAUNEE - Colin Nigl was 2-for-4 with a double and drove in the game’s lone run as the sixth-seeded Zephyrs upended the third-seeded Storm in regional action.

Fisher MacKenzie was also 2-for-4 for SMC.

Nigl picked up the win on the mound, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Brett Paulsen took the loss for the Storm despite a solid effort. In 5⅔ innings, he allowed six hits, one earned run and five walks while striking out seven.

Shiocton 8, Amherst 2

SHIOCTON - The second-seeded Chiefs advanced to Wednesday’s regional final against St. Mary Catholic with the win over the seventh-seeded Falcons.

The Chiefs scored single runs in the second and third innings before striking for three in the fifth and sixth innings.

Bennett Schmidt was 2-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs, while James Mutchie was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Cody Young was 2-for-3.

Amherst finished its season at 14-11.

BOYS LACROSSE

Appleton United 14, Oneida Nation 4

APPLETON - The United took an 8-1 lead after the first quarter and cruised to the regional win over the Thunderhawks.

Ryder Hill scored four goals for Appleton, while Hans Ridlehoover and Anton Downs scored three and two times, respectively. Tristan Dean, Landon Larson, Trevin Schultz, JD Lewis and Roen Willis each scored once.

Larson also had four assists, while Jaylen Kempfer had two.

GIRLS SOCCER

Division 1

Appleton West 2, Appleton North 1

APPLETON - The Terrors held off the Lightning to advance to Saturday’s regional final against Bay Port.

Appleton West got its goals from Addyson Knoebel and Madison Milhaupt.

Kayda Aeby had 14 saves for Appleton West, which is now 8-9-2.

Appleton North finishes with a 9-3-3 record.

Homestead 2, Appleton East 1

APPLETON - The 12th-seeded Highlanders upset the fifth-seeded Patriots to advance to Saturday’s regional title game.

Tied 1-1 in the second half, Caitlin O’Brien scored the game-winning goal for Homestead.

Appleton East finishes its season with a record of 10-5-1.

Kimberly 4, Kaukauna 0

KIMBERLY - Emily McCarthy scored three goals to lead the Papermakers to the win over the Ghosts.

Senah Hanes gave Kimberly a 1-0 lead in the first half on a penalty kick after drawing a foul in the box.

McCarthy then scored her first goal off an assist from Katelyn Owens to make it 2-0 at halftime.

McCarthy added two goals in the second half for Kimberly, which will host De Pere in a regional title game Saturday.

Pulaski 3, Hortonville 0

PULASKI - The Red Raiders blanked the Polar Bears to advance to Saturday’s regional championship.

Pulaski, which finished fifth in the Fox River Classic Conference, is now 13-4 and will host Watertown in the regional final. The Goslings beat Oshkosh North 7-0.

Hortonville finishes 2-15.

Division 2

Menasha 5, Green Bay East 2

MENASHA - The Bluejays advance to Saturday’s regional championship with the win over the Red Devils.

Menasha is now 10-5 and will play at West De Pere on Saturday.

Green Bay East has its season end with a record of 7-10.

Division 3

New London 8, Two Rivers 0

NEW LONDON - The Bulldogs won for the third time this season with the win over the Purple Raiders.

New London is now 3-12 and will play at No. 1 seed Plymouth at 4 p.m. Thursday in the regional semifinal.

Two Rivers finishes with an 0-12 record.

SOFTBALL

Division 2

Mosinee 3, New London 0

MOSINEE - The Bulldogs couldn’t muster any offense in the loss to Mosinee.

New London, which had won nine of its last 10 games, ends its season with a 20-4 record.

Mosinee is 26-1 and will play Rice Lake in Baldwin for the sectional title at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Division 4

Coleman 2, Manawa 1

COLEMAN - The top-seeded Cougars outlasted the third-seeded Wolves to advance to Thursday’s sectional final against second-seeded Random Lake.
