People | Earlier this month, HKA proudly sponsored Ryan Groves, CPA (left) and Clement Lacoudre, CFE (right), both from our Washington, DC, office, as they traveled to Naples, Florida, for the U.S. Open 2024 Pickleball Championships. Clément and Ryan benefitted from a “bye” in the first round of the doubles competition and placed in the quarterfinals of their event. Despite losing in the quarterfinals, the duo maintained that placement thanks to their played point differentials. Unfortunately, Clément did not have as much luck in the singles competition, losing in the first round to a tough opponent. Win or lose, Ryan and Clément are grateful for the experience, saying “[We] play[ed] against some really talented people, and the overall atmosphere of the tournament was amazing. We were also able to watch and interact with some of the pro players and learned a lot from them.” So, what’s next? More pickleball, of course. The two players are waiting for a spot in a DC area tournament in August and would definitely consider attending the U.S. Open again next year if they are lucky enough to be selected! #HKA #USOpen2024PickleballChampionships #pickleball

Record Numbers at 2023 USA Pickleball National Championships - 3,500+ playerscompeted- 7,000 matchesplayed - 50,000 fansThe 2023 Nationals wrapped up this month with itsfair share of complaintsfrom event-goers. But maybe that was partially due to the sheer volume of visitors at Brookhaven Country Club this year. The PPA Tour says attendance more than doubled initial projections, withover 50,000picklers throughout the 7-day event.More impressive Nationals numbers showing growth for the sport include:2.6 million peoplewatched pros compete across 20+ hours of coverage on ESPN, Tennis Channel & PickleballTVA Guinness World Record-breaking264 participantsmade for the most players in a pickleball exhibition matchIf organizers are able to learn from the shortcomings of this year’s event and keep growing attendance numbers, Nationals will soon overtake the last Super Bowl’s attendance (67,827).USA Pickleball PPA Tour #pickleball #linkedinsports #sportnews

What an incredible achievement by our friends at Big Ten Network, Big Ten Conference, and of course, the participating schools and athletes!!Packing 92K fans into the iconic Memorial Stadium 🌽 🏈...for a volleyball match 🏐...that broke the attendance record for women's sports 🥇...in front of an international TV audience 🌎...is a milestone to celebrate 🥳What is the #B1G doing right to accomplish such a feat?I think a major contributing factor is #directtoconsumer (#D2C) streaming access to 1,700 non-televised games and events on Big Ten Plus.Consider the scale of the audience:✅ 10K student-athletes✅ 500K active students✅ 5.5M living alumni✅ Countless friends and family membersAs we've seen from the conference realignment drama over the summer, football will have an outsized role in national broadcast rights for the foreseeable future. But the pride fans must feel to watch their classmates, siblings, children, etc. play (or broadcast!) the games they love speaks to the power of #OTT.

Professional bowling vs bowling with your friends explained in this GQ article about Jason Belmonte, the tours best player.“But the oil patterns on the tour, unlike those at your local house, are devilishly difficult: the comparison is akin to logging a hole in one at your local putt-putt course, the contours guiding the ball toward the hole, versus sinking a downhill double breaker at Augusta. In other words, there is no comparison.”DM me to learn how the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) can help grow your business. #bowling #sportsbiz

🎾Courtesy is expected. Tennis after all is a "Gentleman's sport".🎩Sportsmanship is an often neglected fundamental of sports. It’s an area of competition that gets plenty of attention, but for all the wrong reasons. Practicing proper etiquette shows respect to your opponent or other fellow members, ultimately making the game more enjoyable for all. Here are some Do's and Don'ts in the world of good sportsmanship :❌DO NOT: Cheat or play dirty to win. You may pocket a victory by stooping to dishonest behavior, but you will lose respect of your peers and compromise your integrity.✅DO: Play fair! Play by the rules. Pass it on.❌DO NOT: Continuously talk trash or smack talk. Save all that energy and focus to concentrate on your performance because talking trash doesn’t make up for a lack of skill, it just shows a negative aspect of your character on and off the court.✅DO: Give credit where credit is due. In fact, go a step further by complimenting your opponent on a good play or giving a “nice job” type pat on the back. ❌DO NOT: Be a sore loser. Sometimes you are just going to get outplayed. Accept it. No one likes to lose, but why let a loss keep you down? So don’t sulk, don’t cry, and definitely do not swear or throw things – seriously, racket and ball abuse are just inexcusable.✅DO: Lose gracefully. End each and every match with a smile, firm handshake and compliment on your opponent’s performance. Get feedback from your coaches, teammates and find out what you can work on so that next time you can be a graceful winner. And when you win? Stay classy. Your performance will speak for itself. 😊 What else shows good sportsmanship? 😃Let us know in the comments below! #siamsportspro #tennisacademy #tennisphu*ket #phu*kettennis #thailandtennis #phu*ketthailand #tennisplayer #tennislife #phu*kett #tennisacademythailand #tennislesson #sportsmanship #sspphu*ket #etiquette #tennisetiquette
