Ever since I found out I was pregnant with twins I've been on a protein mission. As a pescatarian, I've never had trouble getting protein before, but being pregnant with twins means I need so much more than normal. Since I've had to cut back on seafood but I'm still needing more protein than ever, I've had to get creative with my sources. I've been eating lots of greek yogurt, eggs, and even tofu. Despite my best efforts though I know some days I'm falling short, so I've been keeping protein power around to try to give myself a boost on those days where I haven't hit my goals.
No Bake Peanut Butter Protein Bars
It's a great boost for green smoothies but also fabulous for making high protein treats at home like my No Bake Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars recipe. YES... that' peanut butter, chocolate, AND protein together in one tasty, easy to make treat.
Why You'll Love These No Bake Peanut Butter Protein Bars...
You will never believe how EASY these peanut butter bars are to make. They don't require you to heat up for the oven, only take 5 INGREDIENTS and your active prep time on them is less than 10 minutes.
Plus they are topped with CHOCOLATE!
Why I Love Premier Protein 100% Whey Powder
- The Vanilla Milkshake flavor is absolutely perfect for this No Bake Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars recipe.
- I love Premier Protein's Whey Powder because it has no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. It's also packed with 30 grams of 100% whey protein with only 180 calories and 3 grams of sugar. That's a lot of protein for one scoop! This protein powder is lean AND gluten-free.
- I'm looking for extra protein because I'm pregnant, but Premier Protein's Whey Powder is equally as fabulous to use after a hard workout or long training run. If you are active some extra protein is rarely a bad idea. It is such a delicious, smooth, and creamy powder.
- The smooth consistency of Premier Protein 100% Whey Powder makes it a great choice for thisNo Bake Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars recipe. It mixes in with the oat flour, peanut butter, and honey to make the easiest and tastiest homemade protein bars EVER.
Ingredients in No Bake Peanut Butter Protein Bars
- Peanut butter:I recommend smooth peanut butter as it provides the bars with a nice creamy consistency.
- Honey:Honey is the perfect natural sweetener.
- Vanilla Milkshake Premier Protein Whey Powder:Adds a nice flavor AND protein.
- Oat flour:You can make your own by adding oats to a blender or food processor.
- Chocolate chips:Top the bars with melted chocolate.
How to Make the Protein Bars
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the peanut butter and honey. You might need to microwave the mixture for 15 seconds at a time until it is liquid enough to stir with the honey.
Stir in the Vanilla Milkshake Premier Protein Whey Powder and the oat flour. Mix well until smooth. Stir in a few chocolate chips.
Lay out a large piece of plastic wrap. Roll the dough out into a rectangle. Carefully fold the dough until you get a uniform shape. Wrap the dough in the plastic wrap and lay it flat in the freezer. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Remove the large bar from the freezer and cut it into 12 equal-size bars. Melt the rest of the chocolate in the microwave until it is spreadable. Spread the chocolate on top of each bar. Put them back in the freezer for a few more minutes to harden up again.
Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bars
You can leave the bars plain OR top them with a nice coat of chocolate.
I think you know which way I vote on that though... :-).
The bars that come in a box are nice, but these are made with love and taste like a dream! Plus homemade costs SO much less.

I love love love these! I am super picky about protein based snacks because I don't like the taste of most protein powders but this recipe is perfect. I used a different protein powder with similar recipe. I made these in my silicone baking cups to make individual peanut butter cups and they popped out perfectly!! I also used white chocolate on some and dark chocolate on others. SUPER DELICIOUS! thanks so much for sharing

The peanut butter bars look delicious! Have you tried hemp hearts? They're a great source of plant-based protein, and there's all sorts of hemp heart granola on the market right now that are really tasty. I always toss some on top of my oatmeal for extra protein and extra deliciousness. I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't had it!
