THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2017 POSTCRESCENT.COM THE POST-CRESCENT, APPLETON-FOX CITIES, WIS. 9A Elizabeth J. Van Drunen (nee Betty Hearden), age 89, died peacefully on October 20, 2017 at St. Paul Elder Services. She was born in Appleton, the daughter of Christoper and Petronella (LeNoble) Hearden.

She married John W. Van Drunen in 1950 and celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to death. Betty was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Kimber- ly and the Ladies Auxiliary Post 60 of the American Legion. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John R. (Kathy) Van Drunen, Kaukauna, grandchildren Matthew (Samantha) Van Drunen and their children Vivian and Winston, Lake Bluff, and Luke Van Drunen (girlfriend, Kai- tlyn Dvorchek), Chicago IL.

Betty is also survived by sister Irene Russell, brother and sister-in-law Richard (Sharon Perry) Hearden, sister-in-law Sharon Hearden, sister-in- law Delores Van Drunen, and brother-in-law Rich- ard Van Drunen. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, her in- laws Adrian and Jennie Van Drunen, brother and sister-in-law Robert (Joy- ous) Hearden, sister and brother-in-law Ilene (Wil- liam) Lyman, brother Don- ald Hearden, sister-in-law Geraldine Van Drunen, and brother-in-law Vin- cent Van Drunen. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Sat- urday, October 28, 2017 in Schmidt Chapel at St. Paul Home, 316 E.

14th Street, Kaukauna. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service. Pri- vate burial will be held at a later date at Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. In lieu of flowers, a me- morial fund has been es- tablished for St. Paul El- der Services.

Van Drunen, Elizabeth (Betty) Ruth Elizabeth Wickesberg, 87, of Black Creek, passed away Tues- day morning, October 24, 2017, at ThedaCare Re- gional Medical Center, Ap- pleton. She was born Au- gust 23, 1930, daughter of the late Walter and Mabel (Sharp) Wickesberg. Betty graduated from Shiocton High School in 1948 and began working for the Outagamie County Producers. At that time she also was involved in the family farm, where she worked and lived her en- tire life. She enjoyed baking, gar- dening, flowers, dancing, and music.

Over the years she was a caregiver for her nieces and nephews when they were visiting the farm. Her family and the farm meant everything to Betty. Betty is survived by her sister, Mary Shepa- rd, Shiocton; nieces and nephews: Dwight (Rose) Wickesberg, Wayne (Patti) Wickesberg, Brian (Patsy) Wickesberg, Rita Barke, James (Lynn) Wickesberg, Kathie (Leonard) Ochow- icz, Julie (Richard) Crow, Debbie (Marshall) Elsner, Michael (Amy) Van Lanen, Brian (Karie) Van Lanen, Jim (Jane) Shepard, Dawn Deltour, Steven (Kerry) Shepard, Karen Shepa- rd, Lori (Miguel) Nieves, Georgianna King, and Angie Shepard. He was born on June 19, 1953 in Appleton, WI.

Robert married the love of his life Valerie (Miller) Tiedt on June 12, 1982. Robert started his career driving semi for Tolibia Cheese with his fa- ther and two brothers, and ended his career driving semi for Hayes Manufac- turing. He was a dedicat- ed fan of NASCAR and the Packers. He enjoyed boat- ing, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. In 2004 Robert and Valerie left their lake home in Win- neconne, WI and moved to Florida to retire in para- dise.

Above all Robert cherished spending time with his wife, Valerie. He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie; broth- ers Charles (Susan) Tiedt, Bradenton, FL; John (Pa- tricia) Tiedt, Neenah; sis- ters Ellen Tiedt; Dana Tiedt, Los Angeles, CA; and Sue (Bruce) Hansen, Pukalani, HI. Tiedt, Robert Paul Peter August La Val- le, age 74 of Menasha, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 after a short battle with an ag- gressive brain tumor. Pete was born on November 24, 1942 in Neenah to the late Louis and Dora (Burr) La Valle. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1961 where he lettered in football, track and basket- ball and was awarded the Athlete of the Year award. During high school, Pete met his wife of 52 years, Patricia Remmel.

They were married in August of 1965 and after a few years they were blessed with two children. After graduating, he started working for Geo. Banta Co. where he worked for 43 years be- fore retiring as a four-color pressman. His love for the Packers took him to the and he sat right behind the goal post where Bart Starr scored the win- ning touchdown.

Fortu- nately, on October 21, 2017 he was able to relive that day with his family at the Packer Hall of Fame. Pete was fondly known as in the neigh- borhood. He loved fix- ing bikes for kids in the neighborhood and also fixing bikes to donate to underprivileged children. We called him the modern day Joe Pete was an active, 30- year member, of the Me- nasha Lions Club. His dedications to the Lions included many volunteer hours in Rosholt repairing glasses for the needy.

He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels with Pat for ten years. Pete was a modest, honest and giving man who never wanted any recognition for his self- less deeds. He especially enjoyed attending most of his many activities and numerous family gatherings. He is survived by his wife, Pat; son: Pete (Cathy) La Valle of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and their daughter, Amelia; daugh- ter: Michelle (Dan) Krupp of Green Bay, and their sons, Dillon and Connor.

He is further survived by his sister, Cherie (Tom) Sonnleitner; broth- ers-in-law: Don Remmel, Tom (Mary) Remmel and Mike (Kathy) Remmel; sis- ter-in-law: Connie (Bruce) Goyette. He is also sur- vived by many loving niec- es, nephews, aunts, un- cles, cousins and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his mother and father, Louis and Dora (Burr) LaValle, mother and father-in-law, Olive and Wally Remmel, sister-in- law, Joan Remmel and two nephews. The Memorial Service for Pete will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at WICHMANN- LAEMMRICH FUNERAL HOME (312 Milwaukee Menasha) followed by a celebration of life at the Stone Toad. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the fam- ily and will be donated to the Lions Club and Brain Cancer Research. La Valle, Peter A. Steven M. Hilde- man, 65, Village of Fox Crossing, passed away on October 24, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.

He had fought a cou- rageous battle with cancer. Steve was born on March 18, 1952 in Clintonville to Don Hildeman and Clare (Hopkins) Hildeman. He attended Menasha High School. On April 28, 1973 he married the former Re- nee Ragen at St. Joseph Catholic Church and they enjoyed over 44 years to- gether.

Early in his career, Steve was employed with VanEperen Painting and most recently he worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital until his retirement. Steve was a grateful member of A.A. with over 30 years of sobriety. He loved to travel with his wife Renee, and was a very proud father and grandfather.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and could always be counted on to proudly share the pictures he often took. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and play- ing golf. He was also an avid Packers fan and crib- bage player. He will be sadly missed by: his wife Renee, his son and daughter in law, Chad and Carrie Hildeman and their children Nathan and Brianna, his brother and sister in law, Dave and Becky Hildeman and their son Matthew, his father Don Hildeman and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-dad, Clare and Jim St.

Louis as well as his step-brother, Dave St. Louis. Visitation for Steven will be on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Su- perior Street in Appleton and on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Street in Combined Locks. Fu- neral services for Steven will be on Saturday at the church at 11:00 AM.

Hildeman, Steven Jacqueline Diane John- son of Appleton, WI passed unexpectedly and peace- fully in her sleep, Satur- day October 21, 2017, 52 years young. Born August 21, 1965 she was the oldest daugh- ter of Donald and Diane Niemuth. On Sweetest Day, Octo- ber 15, 1988 she married Tracy Johnson and re- cently celebrated 29 years together. greatest joy were their two sons she totally adored them. An love you was always echoed by love you from her.

She was extremely proud of them and instilled positive values shaping the great men become. Jackie was a dedicated employee of Fox Com- munities Credit Union for 33 years, rising to AVP of Information Sys- tems. The I.S. world never rests through the phone calls in the middle of the night, missed New celebrations or countless interruptions of life, she was always willing to help and never complained a single time. She believed complaining was a sign of weakness, a waste of energy, better utilized to change the situation in- stead.

Despite a busy career, she was driven to success- fully raise a family, volun- teer for many non-profit organizations including years as Treasurer for her Boy Scout Troup and recently attained a UW College Degree. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A full obituary will be in edi- tion. Coffey, Catherine J. Mary Lou (Cornelissen) Gussert, age 82, passed away Wednesday, Octo- ber 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 28, 1935, daughter of the late Sylvester and Vivian Cornelissen. Mary united in marriage to Lloyd F. Gussert on June 4, 1957 at St. Church in Greenleaf, WI. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Mary graduated from De Pere High School in 1953. She then worked at the Red Owl for 5 years before staying home to raise her family. Mary re- turned to work at Nabisco for 20 years before retiring in 1991. Mary was a mem- ber of the Ladies Society at St. Church for many years.

She also en- joyed bowling, reading, go- ing to lunch with the girls, walks, and spending time with family. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lloyd, her three sons; Tom, Tim (Mary) and Terry (Karen) Gussert and her daughter Cindy (Lee) Bowers. Grandchil- dren; Hannah (Andy), Tay- lor, Carley Josh), Courtney, Tanner (Special friend Mackenzie), and Mariah. She is also sur- vived by her beloved great grandson, Roman In addition to fam- ily, she is survived by a treasured friend, Denise Helbing, who became a second daughter to her and Lloyd.
