GROVELAND — The Rubbish to Runway ReFashion Show will take to the runway again on Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, at Veasey Memorial Park, 201 Washington St. The theme of this year’s show is “Rewilding” in recognition of a mini forest created at Veasey Park in addition to promoting sustainability in fashion.

Receptions begin at 6 p.m. each night and includes live music by the Pentucket High School Jazz Combo as well as food and drinks available for purchase. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m.

Rubbish to Runway to Runway is a community event that brings people of all ages, types and genders, ages 5 to 80-plus together to design garments and model. Their participation goes toward the positive goal of helping to promote sustainability, re-use and also supporting a special conservation property in Groveland (Veasey Memorial Park) through the arts. Rubbish to Runway began in 2010 to bring attention to the waste cycle and help promote awareness of reuse and recycling.

This year’s event will feature fashion designers who will display garments made from recycled materials. Designers and models come from many area communities, including Haverhill, Boxford, Merrimac, Amesbury, Newburyport, Georgetown, West Newbury, Plaistow, Groveland and Salem, Mass. The event raises money to create affordable artist studios at Veasey Park and expand arts programming in ways that are accessible and affordable.
