This includes around 70 fraternities and sororities on campus, with chapters in the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Panhellenic Council (PHC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC).
Though Penn State has 22 sororities, they all share common founding principles (learn more about our chapters here) and can have lifelong impacts on their members, lasting far beyond graduation. What is Panhellenic?
About 17% of Penn State students — about 8,000 people — are involved in Greek life. Nuwer said it would be wise to bring in a neutral compliance person who isn't connected with Penn State — rather than the compliance office being within Penn State.
Chapter dues for Penn State Panhellenic chapters range from approximately $300-1,100 per semester. These dues include national membership, housing, special events involvement, and other chapter specific events and fees that are incurred throughout a semester.
