C-5 Jury selected for trial in rape, burning case The Associated Press WAUKESHA A 14- member jury was selected Thursday for the trial of a man accused in the abduction, rape and burning of a woman in Brown County in August 2003. The jury panel, which includes two alternates, is to be bused to Green Bay on Sunday, with the trial to begin Monday and last up to five days. The jury was selected in Waukesha County because of pretrial publicity in the Green Bay area. Juan Nieto, 25, faces trial on charges of being party to attempted first-degree intentional homicide, kidnapping and five counts of second-degree sexual assault with use of force.
Gregorio Morales, 28, pleaded no contest in April and is to be sentenced in December. Morales is expected to testify in Nieto's trial. Prue, Maynard Charles From C-4 Maynard C. Prue, age 87, of Wabeno, Wisconsin, formerly of Appleton, passed away on November 9, 2005. He was born in Foster City, Michigan on 1 August 8, 1918, to the late Charles and Lorraine Prue.
On January 6, 1940, Maynard married the former lone Elizabeth (Sager) Prue. He was in the 112th Regiment Combat Team, proudly serving in the Philippines during World War II. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged from military service on February 2, 1946. Maynard and lone lived in Appleton for many years and were involved in many activities including the Outagamie Conservation Club.
They were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton and were active members of the church community. Maynard worked at the International Wire Works for 40 years, until his retirement and in Pete 1978. In 1949, Maynard Stegert purchased a cottage on Roberts Lake, Wabeno, Wisconsin, where Maynard and lone spent many years vacationing 1 there with their family. Wanting to retire up north, Maynard and lone bought the cottage next door and moved to the Lake in 1978 after Maynard's retirement.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, President of the Roberts Lake Association for many years. He helped to improve the lake and the surrounding areas. Maynard is survived by his six children: Stanley (Nancy) Prue; Beverly (Donald) Burroughs; Susan (Donald) Jarek, all of Appleton; Phyllis (Thomas) Lemmers of Larsen; Steven (Jeanne) Prue and Gor- don Prue of Appleton. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 12 great a sister, Bethel (Dolly) Jacobsen of Fremont, Wisconsin; a brother, Stanley of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife lone; his parents; a sister and three brothers.

William J. Rogers, of Kaukauna, age 74, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at his home after an extended holiday in Europe. He was born December 9, 1930, to the late Claude and Lucille (Reichel) Rogers. Bill served his country in the Korean War and was a State Representative from 1962 to 1984. Some of his accomplishments that are still appreciated today include: the 1000 Islands Conservancy, the Golden Venture Home for the elderly and budgeting for Highway 441-twenty Prosecutors said the two men, who worked at a Brown County dairy, abducted the victim from the parking lot of a Green Bay nightclub, drove her to a rural Rockland field and sexually assaulted her, and then she was doused with lighter fluid, set on fire and left for dead.
The woman, now 27, has said she was conscious of what was happening despite her injuries, which left her with respiratory failure and secondand third-degree burns to 61 percent of her body. She said she heard her attackers "laugh, get in the truck, turn on their lights and leave" before she went to a nearby house for help. Nieto was arrested last December near Atlanta, and Morales was arrested in New Mexico about a year after the assault. Her career as a registered nurse began at St. Elizabeth Hospital with private duty to many families as well as compassionately serving the senior population and retiring from Peabody Manor. Margaret was born in Montreal, Wisconsin on June 12, 1916. She graduated from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, Wis- spending time with her family, golfing, bowling and traveling with her beloved husband, Leon "Butch" Romenesko. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Butch; a sister, Eleonore Hanson; brothers: Michael and Gerard Smith; nephews: Jeff, Dan and Roger Hanson; a grandson, Kevin Lutzow and many other dear friends. Margaret took great pride and love in raising her family.
Margaret and Butch raised five children: Terry (Catherine) Sharron, Larry (Mary) Sharron, Mary Kay (Tom) Lutzow, Mike (Kay) Romenesko and Patrick (Sandy) Romenesko. Margaret is also survived by nine grandchildren: Scott (Ann) and Chris (AJ) Sharron, Nora Baier, Leah Lutzow and Brian Lutzow, Keith and Cory Romenesko, Craig (Kate) and Kim Romenesko, Greg Sharron, Tina SharronGordon, Bill and Tony Church and Darrell Sharron. There are also 14 great-grandchildren celebrating Margaret's journey. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2005, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2401 Main Avenue, Kaukauna.
